Horizon services to say they are the best is an understatement..
They are the most knowledgeable and kindest people I have ever dealt with.
    Terrific company.

Recently had my Generac generator serviced by Horizon which had purchased the electric company who installed and maintained my generator under a maintenance agreement. My agreement calls for a semi-annual service. During this service, the Horizon tech. told my wife the battery was bad and needed a new $395.00 battery. My wife called me, put me on speaker as I told him to put my existing battery back in the unit and leave my property. My battery was two years and four months old with a cold weather kit. Needless to say, that’s the last time Horizon will be on my property. BTW, the alleged bad battery started my generator last week during it’s normal weekly exercise.

12 years ago First Class Heating and Cooling installed a 17 SEER system in my home. First Class was purchased by Horizon and I continued my maintenance contract with them. Horizon performed the spring maintenance last week and told me that I needed a new a/c unit. I contacted Service Today for a second opinion. The photos Service Today took and showed me literally made me sick. The a/c system was completely corroded due to Horizon’s failure to clean the system during routine maintenance. Horizon also failed to tell me that I would need an entirely new system because a new a/c system alone would not be able to communicate with the existing heat pump. I would strongly caution anyone with a Horizon maintenance contract to demand that the system be thoroughly cleaned during maintenance. I have chosen another company to install an entire new system at a great cost. And I would strongly suggest anyone needing a new HVAC system choose other than Horizon

    Overview
There was a very small leak in the main line just before the water valve in the basement.
I scheduled with Horizon Services to come in Monday morning between 8am and 12pm time slot. I tend to sleep later, my wife gets up earlier, so I asked her to let in the plumber in the morning and just point him to the leak. The area was prepped and clean, ready for him.
My wife woke me around 8:30am. The plumber had come right at eight, already quoted $2,600 for the PRV assembly, and had another quote written up for $1,500 to fix the water heater. He had already left to pick up the parts from the local distributor.

When the plumber returned, I met him at the door, offered him coffee and water and the use of the bathroom. He then walked me through his findings. Fortunately for you and for me, I am an active mechanical engineer, do heavy duty activity costing for technical and infrastructure, and also do product pricing. I’ve done my own plumbing work for thirty years, do most of my car work, totally hands on. In fact, I had actually installed the existing thermal expansion tank.
    1) The Pressure Reducing Valve was bad. He knew that because he had done a pressure test curbside (yet he does not carry spare PRVs on his truck). Coincidently, the water leak was in the same general area, so all part of the same subassembly.
    2) The water heater gas vent was angled over, letting out gasses. It was also touching against the cold water line.
    3) The thermal expansion tank was bad. He had pressed the valve, water came out.

    1) Quoting $917 for a two inch section of Pex, which was not even required to fix
    2) Quoting $589 to replace an expansion tank (required by code), a fifteen minute job
    3) Charging over $2,500 for one hour of real labor.
    4) Multiplying product prices by factor of five (PRV)

The plumber must have been ecstatic. Make $4,000 for less than an hour’s real work. And Home Office likes this and approves, otherwise this would not have happened.

I am not please with this company at ALL!!! I had a furnace and air conditioning unit installed a year ago and had problems from the beginning. It started with a component not put on at installation on the air conditioner which caused a leak in my basement, then the vent pipes on the roof leaked and water dripped inside the unit and caused rust on the inside of the panel doors and the pipes. They have poor customer service when trying to get in touch with them it was a nightmare!!!! It took weeks before they contact me and tried to resolve the issue. They did send technician out to try and correct the problem and they were eventually resolved but they shouldn't have occurred in the first place! They were brand new! Now they look like they are 5years old!!! Months later just getting the new furnace doors after they sent him with the wrong ones. Just awful!!!!!!! I would not recommend them to no one!!!!!

Don't Waste Your Time!! It's not as "valuable" to them as they so boldly claim!!

Contacted Horizon Services on 12/18/22 due to my water heater not maintaining hot water (first time issue). 24/7 call line representative that I spoke with informed me that they had a available appointment that evening from 10pm-11:59pm window but once she selected that I may hear from "dispatch" with regards to more accurate appointment window as she only had limited access on her end and that time window was typically slated for "Emergencies". immediately after getting off the phone with her I received a call from what I assume was "dispatch" to reschedule my appointment for 12/19/22 due to the 10-11:59pm window already slated for a tech "on a 6hr emergent job" which I already knew from prior call may had been taken and I was perfectly ok with. Was told the y would reschedule my appointment for 12/19/22 from Noon-2pm with a 30min call ahead before tech would arrive. After obligating someone to be at the house for 2hrs I received a phone call from assuming "dispatch" at 1:53pm to inform me that the technician was still at prior job and would have to move window back to 4pm. after another 2hr obligation I received a second call at 4:10pm to inform me that tech was now on his way. I subsequently after wasting 4 HOURS for "ON TIME EVERY TIME GUARANTEED SERVICE" opted to cancel the appointment while on call with "dispatch" at 4:10pm.

This is my FIRST time dealing with this company that so boldly promotes such on time and excellent service because "they know our time is valuable". They certainly leave ALOT to be desired. Would and will NOT recommend this company and certainly will NOT be calling them in the future.

Less than 6 hours after having done one come to move our AC unit we had a sales person in our living room giving us an estimate.

Our install was a disaster! They moved stuff and didn't put it back both inside and outside. There were pieces of foam that insulated the hoses on our old unit left on our driveway where the old unit was removed.

They moved things around in the finance room and put things in the room where my husbands train layout is and didn’t put anything back! They said the people installing the chimney liner would put it back because they’d have to move it anyway!!! They tracked insulation from under our kitchen into our basement.

They didn’t leave us an extra filter as promised and when asked about changing the filter we were pointed to the manual!

The wireless connection to our thermostat was not set up. The installer said that they aren’t allowed to have access to our Wi-Fi password. A week later, we still don’t have this set up!
My husband was told that he needed to move our vehicle because the truck wouldn’t fit in our driveway with his vehicle there. One of the installation guys parked his car in the place my husband vacated and the truck was parked in the alley, essentially blocking the alley all day!!
The water heater had not been reconnected to the chimney when the furnace was installed. For several days our gas water tank was venting into our basement!
I called Horizon and let them know that we needed Chuck (the sales person) to contact my husband, on Wednesday. Customer service called my husband to see how our service was on Friday.
We still have not heard from him after two requests to call us. It's been 6 business days (since November 9th) since we contacted them.

    I am familiar with hvac
I knew my transformer was bad but not sure why or what else was wrong
    Had them come out
They said they had to replace the transformer first before going any further
Said transformer was $800 plus $200 to install
Had my wife kick them out. Transformer cost $25 and 10 minutes to install
I feel bad for people that may not be familiar with equipment. They always want to emphasis to replace older units than repair or charge beyond crazy prices
This company I believe to be taking advantage of customers. BEWARE or better just call another company

I waited a month to have service done to my furnace. They were due here 10/7/22 and called that morning saying they had more important calls to make and couldn't come out until the end of December. These people aren't reliable, honest, or at all customer service oriented. Always felt they were less than fair, and now I know first hand.

I took a day off from work to have work done on my furnace. That afternoon, during the time in which they should have been there, I received a call telling me they had no one available to send. Don’t waste your time with a company that can follow through with the appointments they make.
