    I had a $3000 loan from Best Egg.
    In October 2024 I received a small bonus from my employment and used this to pay off the remaining balance of the loan.
    I received notification that it was paid off from Experian, as they monitor my credit.
    1 month later, they illegally reopened the account and started adding extortionate amount of interest to a "CLOSED" account.

    I wish for the pay off to be acknowledged, for the false reports to my credit removed, and a written apology for the stress they have caused.

    Failing that, I wish to pursue a legal recourse against Best Egg under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and will be seeking substantial compensation for damaged they have caused to my credit as a result of failing to report my closed account accurately.

    This account was reported closed, proof provided.If an individuals credit report can be manipulated for the gains of an unscrupulous lender, then the entire concept of a "Credit Score" has failed and must be overhauled!When an account is closed, that signifies that all parties are in agreement with the satisfactory conclusion of the contract.Because you now want more is a sign of your greed, and you should be ashamed!IF there was an error then the error falls within your own accounting, not something you can hold the customer liable for.IF there has been an accounting error that means the loan was mismanaged and as such I demand an investigation under the Fait Credit Reporting Act.
    Disputes have raised with all three credit bureaus. On advice of my legal representative, I request that BestEgg honor their agreement, close this loan and issue an apology for mismanaging this loan and employing bullying tactics and accounting errors.

    I took out a consolidation loan in early February with Best Egg. An error was made in one of the creditor payments - still not sure how that happened. It was paid to JP Morgan Chase Bank, despite the fact that it should have gone to Capital One Bank (and it said that in the application). It's been over 60 days and now the company is now telling me it is up to me to get this error corrected. They say it could take up to a year to do so. I asked for a screen shot or something to show that it was my error (because I literally held the card in my hand when I typed in the number) They say cannot provide that. I believe someone on their end made the error typing it in. It doesn't matter how at this point. It just needs to be corrected.
    I emailed the CEO directly this week asking him to correct it. Got a call back from ****** today acknowledging upper management contacted them and still insisting I have to fix this.
    Chase Bank won't speak to me because I do not have an account with them. (I can't get past the prompts). I reached out to the bank that issued the payment and all I got was a call back from the same woman (******) telling me the same stupid story.
    My next step is to contact my attorney but in the meantime I want an official report filed against this company as this is totally unacceptable that after 60 days they still cannot and will not escalate this properly internally to rectify the situation. Meantime they have no problem taking my payment every month. I am holding up my end of the deal but they are not. That is breach of contract.

    For what it is worth, your emails went to my junk mail and I am just seeing them today when it is apparently too late to respond.  But I’m responding anyway because the company DID NOT do a single thing to resolve this issue.  Just like the last two months.  HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service.If I responded the way they did, I would not have any clients at all.  RIDICULOUS.   Sorry I did not see this sooner.

    I had been utilizing my BestEgg credit card for years, always paying the balance in full each month. On or about March 20, 2025, I received notification that I would need to pay a yearly fee of $48 in order to continue using this card. I called in, paid all balances in full, confirmed a zero balance, and closed the account. However, BestEgg is still reporting to credit agencies that i have a balance owed of $379. When i called into BestEgg on April 5, 2025, their phone system indicated my balance is zero and i have $4000 in available credit, even after closing this account. BestEgg employee indicated that there is nothing they can do about the incorrectly reported balance of $379 showing on my credit report. I indicated I would file reports to BBB and Consumer Protection and representative on the call said that would be fine.
    Im reaching out to the BBB for help in contacting BestEgg on my behalf to straighten out the incorrect reporting, or lack of updating that has adversely effected my credit.

    Complaint ID: 23165042I do accept the response from Best Egg, but one issue remains outstanding.  Upon calling into Best Egg today, April 22nd, their phone system indicates I still have available credit of $4,000 even though I closed the account.   Best Egg needs to fix their phone responses to indicate the account is closed instead of indicating $4,000 available credit.  With Best Egg saying I still have available credit of $4,000, I worry about fraudulent charges.   I will check again in one week to see if Best Egg phone responses indicate zero available credit instead of $4,000 available credit.   This is not an issue with credit reporting agencies, but rather an internal deficiency with Best Egg.

    I was not given reason why and best egg ledger shows I paid 750.25 for Aprils rent.  Any rent payment that I paid in March should have gone into Aprils rent. For example the 1017 I paid in October went  towards November rent

    Someone opened up a personal loan in our names for over 15 thousand dollars. The money was deposited to our account on 2/18/2025.

    We immediately contacted our bank and reported it as fraud. We had frozen our accounts the previous Thursday before so we do not even know how it got through the credit check.

    The money was returned on 2/20/2025. When I spoke to Cross River they told us that we had done everything we needed to do and that the bank both ours and theirs would return it to Best Egg.

    As of today, I just spoke with Best Egg and they were quite rude and told me I should have contacted them. Well, Cross River never told me that, so how was I supposed to know? We now have had our credit tanked by 41 points, are getting nasty phone calls from Best Egg (and emails as well). Cross River needs to get this money back to Best Egg because we do not have it and did not spend one red cent. And Best Egg needs to contact Cross River to get the money back and correct our credit report because again, we do not have it.

    This is the second time I have filed a complaint. The business told the BBB and us that they had located the money from Cross River Bank, but as of today, the account is still valid and still has us owing money to them. Further they are refusing to take it off our credit report even though we had a freeze on our credit. But somehow this account was opened? Say what? Why is this taking so long, and why has the money from Cross River not been credit to the Best Egg Account and the account been closed?

    I did business with beat egg die rental payments . They continue to report lies to my credit report about an amount of money I don’t owe. I have tried numerous times to make a payment plan , they send me a payment plan and then say wait that’s not the right payment plan! I have made a few payments and that isn’t even subtracted from my balance . I need help to help stop the lies on my credit report!

    I made a payment early. They took the money from the wrong account and payment did not go through. I was informed due to the payment not going through I had to make a payment TODAY. I Call to inquire why?I had to make a payment today when it actually isn't due until the 28th.And they could not answer that question for me and I have a problem with that. Now , if I owed money and it was due on the twentieth when I made the payment And you were demanding payment.I can understand that, but when it's not due until 3 days from today and your demanding payment today.But you can't answer why I have a problem with that. There's no way that this company should have an A+ rating when you have a thousand complaints on this page.

    I opened a credit card with Best Egg in December of 2021. The card I signed up for had no annual or monthly fee. Now, after I have had the card for 4 years, they suddenly decided to add an annual fee to the account, and had the audacity to threaten my credit report for closing the account, due to this completely unacceptable modification to an existing account. This is totally unacceptable. Just adding an annual fee to an existing account out of nowhere should already be illegal, as you are holding the person hostage to impacts on their credit report for closing an account that changes its terms to unacceptable ones. The only reason I ever signed up for this card was because it had no annual or monthly fee. To top it off, they had the audacity to threaten me with this impact when I called in to cancel the card.

    The response from the business in no way addresses the complaint. All it does is restate the issue I submitted. I am aware that what was done is technically legal for them to do, that has no bearing on the appropriateness of the practice. Credit accounts can harm a person's credit score when they are closed. Changing the terms of an existing multi year account to suddenly have a yearly fee, hoping you can milk money out of people that are stuck paying this added fee or taking a hit to their credit, is despicable.

    I never applied for a loan with this company and I have heard this has happened to other people. Please review from my credit file immediately.

    I even asked them for an affidavit but they keep ignoring me. They ignore what they want to ignore and they when they want something from me keep harassing me.

    I previously notified you that I am a victim of identity theft, and requested that you do the following:
    Take steps to remove information about this account from my credit files.

    I still have not received written confirmation of these actions. As I stated before:
    I am a victim of identity theft. I recently learned that my personal information was used to open an account at your company. I did not open or authorize the account, and I request that it be removed from my credit report. I have a 60 days late payment still showing. Please send me written confirmation that I am not responsible for charges on this account.

    I have enclosed a copy of my FTCIdentity Theft Report. Because the information you are reporting is the result of identity theft, and inaccurate, please stop reporting this information to the CRAs, as directed by section 623(a) (1) (B) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681s-2 (a) (1) (B). I ask that you take these steps as soon as possible.
    I also have enclosed a copy of the FTC'sNotice to Furnishers, which explains your responsibilities when reporting information to CRAs.
    Please send me a letter explaining your findings and actions.
