They are horrible. The demanded to know my personal medical and why that was a reason i wasn’t making consistent payments. They call me 12 times a day and say they can as long as they don’t leave a voicemail. I’ve told them repeatedly I’m paying what i can.

Predatory corporation. Got my loans transferred to AidVantage. Took all of 3 days to get them consolidated, something Navient could not seem (did not want) to do in 24 years. My largest loans were being charged 14-16% interest and it always took 2-3 months of fighting to get my IBR form enacted (always with no record of me having submitted it), during which they reported me as delinquent to the credit agencies.

Navient does not have resources to work with students that have gotten into private loans to convert over to a more conventional loan. If a student gets behind in payments, they lower the payment plan for 6 months but amortize the interest from any of the unpaid months prior per day which makes it impossible for repayment. The resources are not helpful and there are no courtesy removal of credit reporting. 15 years of nightmares to get out of this due to a glitch in several months of nonpayment and therefore unable to go to other student loan banks to get it due to this credit rating. If they lower and lock in a temporary for 6 months, they automatically go up to the variable rate on the 5th month blindsighting you to renew. And if you renew it goes up a point.

Navient does not care to help anyone that may be struggling to make there payment. It’s always, sorry we have nothing available, but call 100 times a day when you are past due 1 day. This is horrible company.

They constantly harass you and anyone associated if there's even one thing off. Preying on underage kids to put them into crippling debt. They will email and call you talking about ways to "help" you, but its just a way for them to further drown you in their disgustingly greedy tactics.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

The crux of my complaint revolves around Navient's inaccurate reporting of late payments on my account despite my continuous enrollment in school since August. I have attempted to resolve this issue by contacting Navient, but the process has been marred by incompetence, unresponsiveness, and unacceptable behavior from their customer service representatives.

Despite numerous attempts, I struggled to obtain the in-school deferment form from Navient. After multiple emails yielded no response, a customer service agent eventually informed me that the form could be downloaded online. I promptly submitted the in-school deferment form to my school, Virginia Union University. However, when attempting to upload the form on the Navient website, I discovered that there was no designated space for such submissions. I had to contact Navient and obtain an email address from a supervisor to send the form manually. During a phone call with a customer service agent, I was met with hostility and blame for not making payments. Despite my explanation and the provision of the in-school deferment form, the agent insisted that I was at fault. The situation escalated to the point where the agent raised her voice when I requested to speak to a manager. The loan's variable interest rate is exorbitant, leading to a drastic increase in the principal amount. This has resulted in an absurd escalation from an initial $10,000 to an astonishing $18,000. The combination of these issues has caused significant distress and financial strain on my part. I believe Navient's practices are not only unprofessional but also potentially damaging to my credit score and financial well-being.

I kindly request the Better Business Bureau's assistance in investigating this matter and ensuring that Navient rectifies the inaccuracies in reporting, addresses their deficient customer service practices, and provides a fair resolution to the issue of the variable interest rate.

NaviRefi reached out to me about my loans and offered a fixed APR rate starting at 4.99% (I currently have 3 variable loans at 7%,8%, and 10%, respectively) I filled out thheir application online and they came back with a 9.5% interest rate and my credit is absolutely FLAWLESS. Super misleading, I would have given a 0 on this if I could. Student loans and student loan repayment is an absolute joke - and companies like this are extremely greedy.. it disgusts me honestly.

I’m really confused. I enrolled in a payment plan in September and was supposed to pay a certain amount each month. However just recently I received a letter stating I have no payment due for November, so I was under the impression that I would not have an aoutmatic payment come out this mont, but I got a text stating that the amount would be coming out of my debit account of the original agreed upon amount. I don’t understand why they would say no payment is due, but then take the money out of my debit account anyway. This makes no sense, so now I will be making a payment in December which I wasn’t counting on. I had to cancel Novembers payment though. I’m just really confused why it would say 0 due this month but they want to debit my account anyway

COULD NOT STOP CUSSING...I recently called in two payments, one for Federal and one for Private, loans. Received two separate confirmation numbers. All this took place on 09-20-2023. The monies were taken from my account on 09-21-2021. A new statement date was issued on 09-22-2023. When I received the statement for the next month, it showed that I paid $0.00 for the previously mentioned action. When I called to discuss the matter, I received a lower level employee who could only offer apologies. I then asked to speak with a manager. After a long wait, I got another person, who sounded very similar to the first rep, smh. Anyways, this "supervisor" explained to me her understanding of what has happened. ALL OF MY MONIES was placed on the private loan, even though the call was account specific to it's own confirmation number. COULD NOT STOP CUSSING, AGAIN, at this point. Was advised that my monies would be correctly applied by 10-24-2023. WTF!!! I informed Navient that this is highly unacceptable, and that I would like all my money back. After calming down for a few hours, I called again to make sure some actions have been initiated. Got someone that spoke clearly this time. They confirmed what the account notes mentioned, and assured me that they expedited the request for refund back to my paying debit card. People, some call me a packrat, however, had I not kept my information from the previous month, who knows when I would have paid off these STUDENT LOANS. STILL CUSSING, just internally now. r.
