Through my payroll, ADP, I started receiving discount offers. One was from Launching Deals/ Major Rocket, for a one-time purchase of **************** ***f *** 2021. I bought it and it worked, then stopped working. I contacted their support and they got it working again. Once again, it stopped working while I was in the middle of copyediting work. I couldnt get it working again. Not even a year had passed since I bought it. Finally I reached a ********* person, through a chat. He told me it was a fraudulent copy of Word, which is why it stopped working. I saved both the screenshot of the error and the transcript from the ********* support and sent it to Launching Deals support. The ********* person told me to ask for either a working copy or my money back, because Launching Deals/ Major Rocket had sold me a fraudulent copy. The ********* support person said it was likely a volume license that they were illegally selling off as individual licenses, but when the limit was reached, the individuals copy would stop working. He said it was fraudulent and i should get my money back. I contacted Launching Deals support and ask for either a working copy or my money back. They asked for a screenshot which I sent them. Nothing happened. I checked again. They repeatedly said to send a screenshot. I said its here in the email chain. They dont answer any more than Repeat the request for a screenshot, which i sent. On 5/1/24 I purchased online a gift certificate from Launching Deals (owned by Major Rocket LLC). I received an email with the gift certificate. Neither the email nor the gift certificate showed any expiration date. On 4/29/25 - I attempted to use the gift certificate. When trying to redeem, I received a message that it had expired (but no date) and to contact Launching Deals/Major Rocket for assistance. Between 4/29 and 5/8/25 I sent 12 emails to Launching Deals/Major Rocket trying to resolve the matter. I would receive many various responses - but none providing the resolution I requested - either tell me the expiration date and tell me where I was advised of it, issue a refund to my payment method, or issue a new, active certificate and advise on the expiration date for that. I was never provided an answer as to where an expiration date for my gift certificate was shown to me - on the purchase email or the certificate. I was told they can't issue a new certificate. And I was told they can't refund my payment method. They said they could give me a credit for my payment amount to be used to apply for a new purchase with them, but only a purchase that would require me to spend additional money with them. No purchase for the exact same amount of money. When I declined that, they then offered to send money to a ****** account as a refund, which I also declined. They are not adhering to federal law and consumer protections that require expiration dates to be published. And they are also refusing to refund my payment method.Business Response

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this complaint.
The customer purchased a **** & Busters voucher from us in May 2024. The voucher did have an expiration date in 2024, which was clearly stated at the time of purchase. The customer initially contacted us on April 29, 2025 nearly one year after the purchase and several months after the voucher had expired.
Despite the expiration, we made every effort to provide a fair resolution. We informed the customer that while the promotional value of the voucher had expired, the amount paid never expires. We provided the customer with a direct link to apply the original amount paid toward our current **** & Busters offer, which is the only available offer at this time. The customer declined this option.
We also attempted to issue a refund. However, the transaction was beyond the allowable timeframe for our payment processor, and we were unable to refund to the original form of payment. As an alternative, we offered other forms of reimbursement, which the customer also declined.
In a further effort to resolve the situation, we offered to send a new $100 **** & Busters voucherexceeding the original value of $60as a goodwill gesture. Unfortunately, this offer was also refused.
At every step, we have acted in good faith, presented all available resolution options, and made efforts that go beyond our standard policy. The customer has declined each proposed solution.
We respectfully request that the BBB consider removing this complaint, as we have clearly demonstrated a consistent willingness to resolve the matter and have provided all feasible options available to us.

I am rejecting this response because:
The business continues to provide false statements, and no documentation to support anything they claim.The deal I purchased did not feature an expiration date. I have asked several times for them to supply proof of the original offer (not a replica created now of the offer) - and they have not.
Also, it still does not negate the fact that the purchase confirmation email, the actual gift certificate, and the redemption website all do not feature an expiration date. (And I have provided all screenshots of these items as evidence.) And that is illegal.
The business did respond to me, after I filed my initial BBB complaint, via email with the offer to provide a $100 gift card now. But - only if I dismiss this complaint, the complaint with my banking institution, the complaint with the ***** office, and their client, **** and Busters.
I responded to that email that I would accept that offer and dismiss the complaints if they would commit to changing their business practice to adhere to current customer protection regulations and laws, and clearly feature expiration dates on the confirmation emails and/or the gift certificate offers moving forward. Anywhere the purchaser could easily view the information and be aware - as legally required to do. (I have now added this email chain to this case as evidence. Time stamps will show I was only offered this after the additional actions I had to take after getting no resolution for the business.) I absolutely did not decline the offer.
The business then called me. This was the very first phone call, and I wasn't even aware it was the business when I answered,because they do not supply a phone number for customer assistance on any of their websites. I spoke with *****, who again offered the $100 certificate. I asked her to please refer to my email response to their offer,and to please keep any outreach concerning this matter on email, so that we have a written record. She said she would connect with the business owner on my email and would be back to me.
Over 24 hours later - I have not received a response from the business. But - I do see that rather than respond to my email, they decided to respond to this complaint with false information. (Again, time stamps will show they responded here after my emailed response concerning the $100 gift certificate offer.)
I have provided every email and response I have had with Major Rocket/Launching Deals. It accurately shows they have not provided any compensation I requested show me where I, as the consumer, was informed my gift certificate had an expiration date, refund my purchase or issue a new certificate that will make me whole. They offered a credit that could be used only if I spent additional money with them, which I am not willing to do. They offered to send money to a ****** account, which again is not a suitable resolution for me, as I do not have a ****** account. And now they are offering a $100 gift certificate contingent upon my dismissal of these filings.

We have issued a full refund for the original purchase in the amount of $38.97 via money order, which was sent by certified mail to the mailing address on file (see attachments for confirmation). This method was used as we are unable to process refunds to the original payment method for transactions over one year old, per our payment processor's limitations.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
To clarify further:
Attached to this message is the original voucher tied to your purchase, which includes the expiration date. This voucher reflects the actual inventory that is used to redeem the offer purchased on our platform.
The refund in the amount of $38.97 was issued to the customer via a money order and was mailed to the customer by certified mail. The refund amount is in full consideration of the customers original purchase price and resolves the transaction dispute.
As a courtesy, we have also provided the customer with a $100 Gift Card that can be redeemed at **** & Busters (which has been enclosed as an attachment).
In summary, the customers money has been refunded and we understand the issue has been resolved. We regularly review our practices regarding disclosures, and we will continue to do so in the normal course.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory - for my case.I still contend Major Rocket/Launching Deals is not adhering to requirements to provide clear expiration dates on gift cards/certificates that they issue. For any and all consumers - and I do think many more encounter the same issue I have faced, but do not have the ability or resources to take the many extra steps to get a resolution.
Major Rocket/Launching Deals still has not committed to make sure that all their future gift certificates adhere to the requirements at the federal level for expiration dates - and I do think that is concerning. But, I am at the point that I can only address the resolution for my specific case.
The screenshot Major Rocket/Launching Deals provided in their last response stating it was a screenshot of my gift certificate with an expiration date clearly shown is not true or accurate. I have provided my gift certificate to them, and to this case - and it clearly shows there was never an expiration date included on the gift certificate.
I also firmly believe Major Rocket/Launching Deals would have continued to do nothing to resolve my issue through interaction between just them and me,the customer. I attempted to get a resolution via 10 different email messages (which I also uploaded to this claim), which shows that the process of resolution was going nowhere. I only received assistance to actually resolve this problem after reporting the issue here and with FL's state attorney general's office.

My place of work has a link to savings via Launching Deals owned by Major Rocket. On 12/24/2024 I purchased the *********************************** 2021. I downloaded it to my laptop. It no longer works. I contacted the company on 2/14/2025 to notify them of my issue. I was instructed to log into ********* to look for the download. There is no download showing. Yet when I try to use the key that I initially used it tell me it has already been used. I sent another email on 2/18 requesting a refund. I received no reply. I saw a deal on getting a *** membership for $38.50, and when I did this, it stated that I already had a membership and would need to renew. This seems to be their trick because I have read other reviews and they did similar things like this to other consumers. I have asked repeatedly for a refund, and they have ignored my messages. I want my money back, as the service they are providing proves to be criminal. I have emailed them 2 times and not heard back in the past month, and I just wrote 2 more emails to them today. I believe that if you have a service that doesnt work that they are responsible to refund the money when asked. None of us, as consumers, should have to repeatedly chase others for our money. They are very unprofessional, and they are big time scammers. Buyers should beware because they only want your money, but dont want to promise the discounted service.Business Response

I bought a ******* from their for $100 *************** play voucher in Oct. 21, 2024.The Groupon page clearly states: "Promotional value expires Jan 31, 2025. Amount paid never expires."When I redeemed the vouchers on their site, I received vouchers that expires Oct. 31, 2024, NOT Jan 31, 2025.I reached out to them and they flat out refused to honor the Groupon. They could not point out where in the advertisement it said the vouchers would in fact expire Oct. 31, 2024, and instead trying to come up with excuses.
