  Declined a check and when asked about what was in file to show risk they couldn't find anything and could not provide me a risk. Stated to use a different form of payment. I again asked what my risk was that they would feel the need to decline the check and still couldn't provide the reason.

  We confirmed with Pep Boys that checks were accepted before having new tires installed on a company vehicle . When our driver presented the check, it was rejected. There was nothing wrong with the check. The new tires were already installed; so, our manager had to go to the store to clarify the situation. Our driver had to get home, so we were in a hurry. Problems with Certegy: 1. The store did not have a Certegy phone number for consumers to call. The Vendor phone number does not provide options for consumers. 2. It is difficult to obtain a phone number for consumers to call. 3. Once we were able to contact Certegy, the automated systems asks for a 13-15 digit number that the store manager said they did not receive. 4. When our manager finally got to speak with a customer service representative from Certegy (actually, a call center in the Philippines), the representative was focused on reciting the procedures used to evaluate checks and how a rejection does not mean that the check is bad (we already knew that) rather than listening. Our manager explained to the rep that we were in time crunch to get the check approved; however, the rep kept interrupting and repeating that what they offer is an opinion, rather than listening to the customer problem and trying to help. 5. After all the information requested by the rep was provided (it took a while), the rep informed our manager that Certegy cannot provide an approval by phone once the check is rejected. (This would have been useful information at the beginning of the conversation, when our manager was explaining to the rep the time sensitive nature of the call.) 6. According to the rep, they cannot raise the issue to a supervisor or manager. 7. Since the tires were already installed, our manager had to pay with his personal credit card so that our driver could go home. 8. Because of this experience with Certegy, we will no longer buy from Pep Boys (or other vendors that use Certegy) again.

  Absolutely useless and complete garbage "customer service" if you can even call it that. I would prefer to talk to an actual human being over a robot. Also, good luck cashing a check over $1000 without them giving you every excuse under the sun to decline it. What a waste of tech and time. Guess I gotta go pay $150 to cash a check that I was told I could cash for $8! Thanks for absolutely nothing!

  Certegy Check Services *** is the recipient of my complaint and is not BBB certified They have one star out of five which again indicates that they are not reliably providing the service that advertise. I received a letter from their collection agency, ************************************************************** stating that I owe a certain amount of money for a service I did not knowingly sign up for. Also I have no need for their services and have never used a check payment solution in my life. I do not want to pay for a service I did not want to use and do not want to be taken advantafe of. Certegy skipped over contacting me directly and instead used a collection agency. I hope this can be resolved. *************************************

  This is awful and disgusting!! No answers nothing!! How can someone declining you not give you any reasons why and when your account will be available?? This is discrimination!! This is fraud!!! This is criminal!!!! My wallet was stolen, my identity was stolen. I did state I would forward all my police statements and reports. They said no and this time. We are sorry and we understand with your frustration!! You don’t understand my frustration and you aren’t sorry. I was on the phone for 2 hours 1 hours telling guy to get me a supervisor and 1 hour speaking with supervisors reading a a piece a paper who have no idea what they are doing. Controlling people and not having any answers!! It’s not fair it’s criminal I will go to law enforcement to get this taken cared of.

  They sent me a letter in the mail with my Employee’s name on it claiming “I” was the employee and my check had bounced. My employee claimed she lost her check and asked for a second one and tried to deposit both. Customer service did not believe it’s me and it’s still asking for more information. If they can actually read the check the address you’re sending this notice to is not the employee, but the business owner address. I don’t know why I am still responsible for this and you’re not going after my employee who was the one that cashed a cancelled check.

  Absolute joke of customer service. Asked why my check was declined( among three other people whom were also declined) and was simply told "its not on our end, it must be an issue with the check issuer" yea definitely must be all these SEPERATE check issuers that are having issues. Definitely can't be certegys poor systems. What a joke I will NOT be using any check cashing service that uses certegy, hopefully this company gets shut down soon.

  I couldn't write a check at the grocery store this morning at Kroger because the 3rdigy thing popped up and said I couldn't. I've never written a bad check they've always cleared even last week when I went. Said I had to contact Certegy which they're basically no help at all because they won't tell you anything they won't give you answers to questions that you need. I don't know what's happening now but I filed a report with the *** Certegy is not Better Business Bureau accredited so now I will check every place before I write a check any place involved with Certegy I will turn around and walk out and will never do business with them again.

  No star for this company. My husband and I purchased carpet through Empire Today and used a check. First check for down payment went through however when they installed the carpet on and we tried to pay with a check, Certegy declined the check. I called our bank and they had not been contacted (there was plenty of money in the account for this check to go through). You can't talk to a live person at Certegy to find out the exact reason for not approving the check. You get an automated system that is no help. We went ahead and put the purchase on our credit card but this was a very, very embarassing moment. We would like an apology from this company and also be told exactly why they declined the check. Going forward, when doing business with any company, I will ask who they clear checks through and if it is through this company , we will not do business with them. Empire Today uses them so even though we like the carpet and the installers were great, we will not do business with them again for this reason.
