1 starI rented a car from Hertz in Le Mans France through Kayak. The TOTAL prepaid price quoted by Kayak was $1.070.78. When I arrived to pick up the car, the Hertz agent fraudulently charged an additional $692.91 giving some lame excuse that the price from Kayak was only for their portion, even though the quote from Kayak said TOTAL. 1 starSo let me start by saying I will never use Hertz again..we picked the car up Thursday in Philly and by the time we made it to the airport we was calling complaining..we was told to drop it off at any location but every location either was closed or didn't have cars..we made it to our location and still no place to switch the car out at..and to add insult to injury we are on the road back and the back passenger tire blows out..due to lack of the company upkeep on this car..we call the roadside emergency number just to be told that we didn't have insurance(which we are fully covered) so they were charging for AAA.. my husband changed the tire to the spare and we made it to a local hertz only to be told that they wouldn't switch the car out..so now here we are stuck almost a 1000 miles away from home with kids..and a car that is worthless..and to make it worse we was told that the airport had cars but on the way there to exchange the car the back rear driver side blows out so now with one spare on we still have a flat..and customer service isn't helping at all..after 5 calls still no help..So we had to sleep in the car with 2 toddlers and a 9yr old.Review fromGunvir M

1 starTerrible Customer service from Hertz. I returned Rental with full Gas tank; this was checked by the Agent. a few weeks later I get an invoice for Refueling. I sent email with statements showing the Fuel was payed for prior to return. till date I havent received any confirmation from Hertz that the charges are been cancelled, I am unable to get on the phone with an agent who can help, I tried the Live Chat when I again sent documentation. The Agent was very slow in processing, and ultimately said they couldnt pull up the record, and then stopped answering messages altogether. Terrible serviceReview fromJeremy S

1 starMade a reservation for car rental at ****************************************************. This was the location given to me in my confirmation email. After walking almost a mile there from my hotel, I found no hertz rental facility. I called hertz and they said they were at another location. I asked for a pickup, they refused.Review fromViki C

1 starPre paid for our rental, reserved months in advance to arrive at the airport and have to take the last car (Gold Member) - 2018 Trax with 46,000 miles and expired inspection sticker and broken ac in Florida! Got to our rental, parked the bucket of bolts and rented a golf cart to get our vaca going. Last night on our 40th anniversary (we have not used the car for 5 days)the car goes psychotic and won't start. We call Hertz's emergency road side service - long story short we were hung up on 3 times, on the phone with them for over 4 hours to ultimately be abandoned by Hertz and no emergency road side service. Returned the car that night (10:30 pm, lost our dinner reservation and slept in the airport), the manager (Albert) tells us the "previous customer did not file a complaint, so the car was washed and buffed and sent out to the lot" and offered us a can of beans (seriously!). HERTZ said pre payments can not be returned, but they have added 750 points (= 1 day rental) to our account for next time. You charged us close to $1,000 for a week rental that we used to get to Captiva and back, that is it because it was such a bucket of bolts. According to Hertz's records, we put over 900 miles on this car?!, that we should've returned the car immediately (they had no more cars), that Hert's ERS called us back and we did not answer (we were at their mercy - they NEVER called us back) and they inspect mechanically every car before it gets released to be rented (not according to their manager Albert)...... how they can keep people's money captive and get away with what they are doing to people amazes me! I have been giving them every chance and manner that they could do and they just refuse. They should be shut down and forced to make their wrongs right!Review fromShana P

1 starIf we could leave a negative 10 we would. Worse experience ever. They had our car towed knowing it was ours while renting a cargo van and won't do a thing about it. Lied and told the property manager that it was abandoned by a Uber driver. We call and they just hang up on us. Overland Park, KS location. Please don't wver use them. Rudest little boys in the office. Until Hertz calls and reimbursements us for the bill we will tell everyone we see.Review fromRichard K.

1 starI paid $130 in advance for a cargo van to move my things.l When I arrived to the Leominster location to pick up the vehicle they said they didn't have one. No help. Just an offer of a much smaller vehicle that was not going to help. I'll never do business with them again.!Review fromCurt F

1 starBeware! If you're returning one of their vehicles on Sunday. The day they're closed for business! Make sure you check the bottom of your agreement to see what time they have assigned you to return vehicle. They will tell you to bring it back whenever on Sunday, in hopes you will bring it back past return time they assigned you. They will then charge you for an additional full days rental. Shady business scheme. Associate asked me if I thought Hertz Gastonia, NC was trying to benefit by ripping people off for one extra days rental. I said: If you're doing it to a 1000 Sunday returns that come in past the return time you assigned, but didn't tell customers about, F*** yes, your benefiting Hertz Gastonia, NCReview fromTA M

1 starDon't rent your car over here! They are liars and they will steal your money. We rent a car for not even a day to go to Toronto (we rent it from Hertz at YUL airport). The agent told us it will cost 350$ and we asked him if there will be other fees and he told us. They didn't give us the contract so we can read it, and told us to sign it. Next thing we know, they charge us 450$. There was fees that thay charge us and didn't tell us when we asked him. They charge 3,69$/L (what a scam!!). And they charge us 15$/day because they said we deposit the car late (we have video proof that we deposit the car in time, but whatever they are brain dead). Don't rent from here!! 1 starActually no stars. I attempted to rent a car today by calling them. I was renting a car for 3 days and they were going to charge me over $500 with a discount. I was suppose to receive a confirmation within 5 minutes via email. After 30 minutes I called customer support, but they had no record of a car rental for me and did not understand why I was upset that my car rental reservation was not entered. They did not understand I was concerned especially since their employee had taken my credit card number. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told, after being put on hold, that none were available. They said one would call me within the hour. I cancelled that credit card. They never did call me back. I booked a car through another agency for under $300, same type of car, for the same dates and location. This company is awful!!!!
