They over charge you and refuse the help. You are unable to speak to a live representative. DO NOT RENT FROM THRIFTY.

Booked a managers special ahead of my trip to Orlando. Printed out my paperwork. There was a "?" mark next to the words managers special. May I add, NO WHERE did it say that I had signed up for an electric vehicle. When I got to the counter at the Orlando airport, I was told that's what the "?" means. If I wanted any other car it would be a $115 dollar upgrade. I had no choice in the moment, but how shady. I over heard them telling the woman next to me that her bill was going to be $250 more than what she had booked. NEVER AGAIN will I use this company. I just put one star .. because I didn't have the option of ZERO

Booked online when we went in to pick up car at Orlando Intl airport we told the agent we decline insurance because we have our own. When we returned the car they over charged us by adding the insurance. Went to agent at counter. They said you have to go to this website to open a case, but we will also look into it for you. Never heard back from anyone, opened a case weeks went by no reply, opened another case weeks went by no reply. No customer service agent will discuss it with us. Opened a case with charge company they gave us provisional credit, they into it and said it looked like we were charged the correct amount. Thera is no justice in this! This is a scam! And we are out almost $200! No way to resolve none to talk to. I will never recommend thrifty to anyone. And they should be ashamed of themselves to business like this!

I recently rented a car from Thrifty at the *****************. First I am a blue chip member and have rented from thrifty almost every other week since Februrary. For this rental in particular, I rented and did the pre check in invite that I received in my email. Upon completion, it said that I could go directly to my car upon arrival. On my day of arrival, I went to look where to go and was told that my car was not ready for me yet and this was after my flight was delayed. When I got the window, the young lady who helped me was fine, she said they had no cars and that she was upgrading me complimentary. My estimated charges were $273.21. On the day I was scheduled to leave, I received a notice that I was able to get on an earlier flight. I dropped the car off and when they processed the return I received the email of my total charges and was charged $764.00 because I turned my car in 4 hours early. When I saw this, I went to the counter and asked what happened and the team members looked at me and their response was well you got burned - I asked for the manager and they said they couldn't do anything and took my paperwork and circled the phone number for customer service. I called and got a recording and to go to the website. This is the second time that this has happened. If this is how you treat loyalty members, I will never rent again and will make it my mission to let every colleague that I know who travels for business to look elsewhere (I've been travelling for over 19 years and have never been treated this way!) Even on the website - it mentions being charge for a late return but no where does it say an early return - I am positive that they didn't hold on renting that car out to the next customer so why should I be penalized - The last time this occured I was quoted 247 and then charge ****** and when I questioned it they said it was because I returned it early. I had asked to be contacted and never have heard from anyone!

Avoid this rental car location. 1. Poorly operated and managed. Staff is rude and put out.2. They mislead you with their car inventory 3. I was charged for a car they didn't have, was given a lower tier car and they didn't adjust the price. The car they gave me was dirty, had a broken drivers seat that was stuck in a straight up position. It took 50 minutes for them to bring me my car.4. It has been two months since my complaint and the two emails from them are just BS responses and they will not take any action.Do not rent from this scam company.

Thirty at IAH international airport has had 50 customers in line for over an hour. There should be a penalty for a company to operate in such a slow manner. I showed up at 10:45 pm for an 11:00 reservation. I have been here an hour, with potentially another hour of waiting. Please share this so people know to avoid this company in Houston, Texas.

I wish I would have checked these reviews before choosing Thrifty through Expedia. We arrived at the airport in Boston, and I was supposed to be able to bypass the rental desk and just go to my car. The car wasn't ready, so I had to go to the desk, where they charged me over double what I was quoted on Expedia. I asked why and they said that Expedia doesn't add on all the fees. I was also charged a damage waiver and road hazard insurance on my final bill after declining it when the agent asked me during the time of rental. I didn't have my glasses on when I signed the agreement, so I didn't see that she had included it anyway after I said no. I tried to contact Thrifty after my trip to get the charges reimbursed, and they wouldn't cooperate. Not a great way to gain repeat customers. I will never use them again, and I hope nobody else does either.

Thrifty Car Rental is a scam. I had already prepaid for car fees via Expedia. Upon check in, I verbally declined the damage waiver and road side assistance. As part of their electronic paperwork I was asked to choose a 'package' on their touch pad. The lowest option is 'BASIC' which in small print mean it added LDW and road side assistance. After I had already verbally told the agent I did not want these, my response to this touchpad is all that is recorded. This is a very shameful tactic. The additional unwanted fees double the car rental costs. Of course, because I had unknowingly chose the lowest option, there's no recourse to take back the fees. It was my first and last time trying this company. Good lord, why did I even not try my usual Hertz or Entreprise. Companies that have been proven solid, IMO.

I rented a car through Thrifty at SeaTac. Before I got to the airport I booked the rental and $129.28 was charged to my card. When I got to the counter the total was supposed to be $78 and change. However, I was charged $373 for the rental. I attempted to KC text the company and get this resolved with no avail. They said it is my problem and are not willing to help at all. DO NOT USE THEM!!! They will take your money and you will not even be able to talk to a person.

Misleading pricing. Upselling at check in. Charged for services I did not agree to. I was told my insurance would not cover cover the rental car at check in (which I later confirmed was not true). I agreed to basic insurance of $10 per day and was charged for premium insurance of $35 per day. I was charged for premium roadside service of $10 per day which I never agreed to. Was charged for a full tank of gas despite returning the car with more than 3/4th of a tank. Overall, terrible experience.
