This company doesn't deserve even one star!!! They provided us with a vehicle that ended up having significantly low coolant. We ended up having to get the vehicle towed. Our options were to get an Uber back to the airport to get another car or wait until the next day and try and get a vehicle at a closer Thrifty location. We chose the later and we were told to call the Roadside assistance number at 8 am the following day. I was not able to talk with a customer representative until 12:30 pm. They still were not able to get us a car at a closer location so we chose to cancel the reservation because we didn't want to waste more of our vacation dealing with a company that you couldn't speak to anyone and that provided us with a car that wasn't properly maintained. We then received a bill for over $300 more than our previous bill even though we had the car for less days. At no time have we been able to speak to a customer service representative and they continue to tell us that the bill is right because we cancelled early even though they gave us a undrivable car. We then contacted the BBB and they finally responded stating they plan to give our account an adjustment so we agreed to the resolution. Needless to say, we haven't received a refund yet and it has almost been a month since they claimed they gave us the refund...This company is ******* and steals money from customers.

DO NOT RENT an electric car!!!! Thrifty car rental in ***** NIGHTMARE. I rented an electric car. Rep ***** tell me MOST of the charging stations are broken or no longer there. I drive 20 miles down US 19 there was not l a single charging station operational. I went to 7 stations!!Finally a ****** dealer let me charge until they closed at 8 pm. That got me 17 miles. I was in a panic. It was Friday 5 pm rush hour traffic.I called Thrifty roadside assistance 3 times he stayed on the phone with me, he could not find me a working charging station. I called thrifty 3 times to find another gas car none of the locations had cars available. I called thrifty corporate they answered after a ************************************ I flew into ***** for my mothers 87th birthday. I couldnt get to her due to this **** car. I missed her birthday. I had to rent a hotel. I had dinner at 10 pm i was so exhausted but charged at Whole Foods for 2 1/2 hours sitting in my car in a dark parking lot until midnight. The next day I had enough to charge drive to my families but I had to leave my car charging 3 separate times in ******* ***************************************************************** to the station 3 times to keep the charge going as theres a 2 hour limit. We couldnt stay at beach more than an hour. We tried the charger in the car the prong was broken. Im at ************* now. I went to 3 thrifty counters none of them can help me get a refund for my car and hotel room. I was told to call thrifty but its only prompts giving me a we out to log into. Dont put yourself through this. These rental companys make quick money then have absolutely no customer support. They should not be allowed to get away with this.

I had a HORRIBLE experience with Thrifty car rental in the ********************. I had a car rental scheduled to be picked up on Saturday April 20, 2024, and when i got to the counter, they told me that my car was no longer available because i was late for my pickup. They give a 2 hour window and then just give away your car they said. I never was promted to give a pickup time, so it gave me a 1:45pm timeslot. I arrived at window at 4pm, 15 min after their window, and my car was gone. I needed to wait over 1 hour for a ride home, and then back to airport next morning for a car from a different car rental. Never again!!!

Rented a car to be picked up at the airport in *******. The charge was supposed to be $472.50. It showed up on my charge card as $985.00. I have spent more than two hours trying to resolve the issue. First, Thrifty seems to only have automated voice calls/responses. They suggest you use email and get a response in 3 to 5 days. Next, I find that I was charged $60 for an upgrade to the vehicle because they did not have the vehicle I reserved. Additionally, they charged for road service that I did not ask for. I cannot understand how my charges for a vehicle doubled. After hours of inquiry and listening to a string of voice commands and obnoxious music on their system, I did talk to a supervisor who has promised to get the charges removed. That is left to be seen! Never, have I had a similar experience and never, will I use Thrifty or Hertz rental companies. It seems that Hertz and Thrifty are one in the same. Good luck if you have a similar issue.****************

I went to pick up car at *************** and the line was so big.. i had to wait for 2 1/2 hours to reach the counter and finally when i reached the counter i was asked to wait for another 45 to get the car. **************** is horrible.. Please book through other car rental even if costs extra bucks rather than painful waiting..

Manipulative company, evil tactics, do not go here. I signed a rental agreement for $172.12, after I picked up the car and drove off the lot they emailed me a confirmation for that exact amount, and then 30 minutes later a 2nd confirmation email for $267.33. I have contacted customer service, they acknowleged I was charged the incorrect amount, and they will not refund me the money. There has been no explanation and no apology. The only reason we used this company was because they were the cheapest, aka the thriftiest, and it was only a bait-and-switch. They ended up costing more money than most other companies. Stay away from this place at all costs.

Well, let me start by saying how corrupt this company and its shenanigans are. In February 2024 I went to ************ ********** for vacation. We rented a car in decent condition it got us from point A to B. However, after the trip was over we returned the car to the airport everything was fine. So recently, I was reviewing my credit card statement and I noticed a charge for 500$ now I am wondering what is this for since everything was paid for and we were fine. Now I tried calling Thrifty several times and I just get a freaking automated message. I called my financial institution to dispute and it was handled! the matter was resolved and I received the credit back to my card. Now as of today April 23, 2024, I see the same charge again on my statement there is no explanation as to why I am being charged this outrageous amount to my credit card! Thrifty does not have anyone to speak with and the automated message does not provide options to select the appropriate menu to speak with someone or give support for all possible issues and or inquiries. I demand to speak with someone from the cooperate office immediately! Business should never be conducted in such an unprofessional manner this only proves how they are robbing people and engaging in fraudulent acts!!

There is sign outside the lot that says to leave the key in the car and go, but then when we did that, we got charged for a late rental return. They also hung up on me twice when I tried to inquire about the charge(s). Will not be using this company again for future car rental services or anything, if we can help it.

Worst customer service. Charge unnecessarily to their customers. Don't respond through emails to not give any proof in case the customer wants to dispute the charge. After an hour ofdriving, I was lockedout of the car. I ensured the company was aware of this and arranged a towing service through them. They charged my credit card every day until the car was received back to Thrifty in ********* (it took them 11 days). The customer service representative assured me the charge would be lifted, but to my disappointment, it never was. I disputed the charge but lost the case because Thrifty never sends information via email and has a policy of only telling us verbally. My credit card company needs something in writing from Thrifty, but I cannot get it due to their policy.

I rented an SUV, drove under 200 miles, and returned it in three days time. I was charged an extra $271 for a child seat (originally quoted $45, it wasnt in the car so I didnt have it at all and was ultimately charged $98 for it) and a mobility device I neither requested, nor had. I even notated on my check-out paperwork at the counter there was no child seat. I have been trying to get ahold of someone at the rental counter for nearly 2 weeks now but they never, ever answer the phone no matter what option I press asking for a local employee. I have also reported this as fraud to my credit card and Im trying my best to get this resolved with thrifty corporate, however, no one there can help until the local rental counter answers corporates call, and guess what? They arent answering their calls either. I get a generic email from corporate about every three days saying theyre looking into it. I want a refund of my $271.
