At the counter we told the agent that we did not want additional insurance coverage, but still received an additional charge of $127.04 on the final statement. It is impossible to reach a human to talk about a dispute :( I will not use Thrifty/Budget again.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!! Waited over an hour at 1230am to pick up my car. Was given the wrong location of the car when I went to get it. The car smelled like cat urine, was filthy, and the brakes squealed like it was metal on metal!! Pay extra to run from somewhere better!!

Had the absolute WORST experience with thrifty/hertz car rental on Feb.7 2024 in ******** at airport. Took over an hour and a half to get car (was reserved 2 months in advance) after an 8 hour flight. We were told we had to purchase a loss damage policy in addition to the fees we'd already paid. The "kids" running the pick up area lot were just running around the parking lot chasing each other. Lots of customers waiting for cars...super rude and unprofessional. Would never recommend or use again.

On 1/21/2024 we booked a car on Capital One shopping through Expedia with Thrifty. The agreed upon amount was $203.40, $126 deposit paid with $77.40 due at the counter upon pick up in Orlando, FL. I do all the booking for trips, flights, cars, hotels, etc but my husband is the driver of the vehicle. While booking there was not a place to add or change drivers. While at MSP Airport on 2/12/2024 I received a text to “speed up” the check in process and esign documents. It took several attempts to get the site to work and when I tried to change driver info there was no option to do that. When we arrived at Orlando Airport we arrived at the Thrifty car check in counter and waited over an hour in line to pick up the car. The woman at the counter was not friendly. When we got to the counter we explained to the woman that we needed to change the driver information to my husband because I only booked the car and was not driving - I did NOT drive the car the entire trip. She took my husband's driver license information but never once explained or said that she was adding him on and that there would be an extra charge. I was not needed to be on the car rental agreement as a driver, I never once drove the car. We returned the car on the morning of 2/18/2024. And now 11 days after the return there is a pending charge from Thrifty for $13.99 for Gas/Automotive. We did not sign up for any of the additional features that they pressure you to purchase. This company will tack on extra charges without any explanation; that is fraud and very deceptive practice. The customer service is very poor. Attempts have been made several times with their online customer service to remedy the situation but it is automated responses that never address or answer any questions or concerns and take no measures to help.

They made my pick one star but they are zero stars. Horrible experience at Thrifty Atlanta Airport. First, we had to wait two hours in line just to speak with someone as we standing in line we were told once we reached the counter it would be at least two hours before we got a car. I rented the car on RentalCars.com, which have yet to be the only people I could talk to. Once I reached the counter, I was told he had a car available but it was a SUV but it would be a free upgrade since they didn't have my car I requested. Well guess what I got my credit card statement, they charged me for the upgrade and insurance, which I had already paid for online. I have been calling now for over ten days and have yet to speak with anyone. On top of all of this an employee stole my daughter's headphones. We noticed they were gone, ran back to the rental car center and by the time we got back they were gone but the car was still there. We can track them and could see them going to an apartment complex and back to the rental car center but yet they were unable to find them. I just wanted to talk to someone and not once have I gotten a person to talk to about any of this.

I made a reservation with Thrifty through Expedia. When I checked in at Dulles airport the agent told me that there is a problem with my driver's license and they will not rent the car to me. He could not tell me what the problem is and gave me a phone number to call and said that I would have to call them tomorrow since they are closed at this time. So at 10 pm, I went back to the airport and took a taxi to get home from Dulles to Hanover MD. I called Thrifty today and was told there was nothing wrong with my License (Which I already knew). I a Blue Chip member and 76 years old and they treated me like this at 10 pm. I am doe with Thrifty and already canceled future reservations had with them. BEWARE of this unprofessional , unethical and useless company.

It's too bad that I have to even give Thrifty one star just to write my review. They deserve ZERO stars! When we got to the airport we had to wait in line at least 45-60 minutes just to get to the counter. Our rental car came to $90 but when we got the bill it was almost $300! Really?? They added the LIS (liability insurance) on themselves (we have plenty of insurance and never add that on) to the tune of and additional $65! and a Frequent Flyer surcharge, huh? What is that? It is impossible to speak to a customer service person, of course, so the only think I can do it report it and hope other people are smarter than we are and will investigate before they give Thrifty any of their money. Disgusted. NEVER again.

The Kailua-Kona airport agent offered supplemental insurance, which I declined. The agent added the insurance anyway, and I did not catch it until I was billed for it later. Now it appears that I’m not going to be able to remove the charge. We have spent a lot of time trying to fix this, but have been unsuccessful so far.

I prepaid for my rental at the time of booking of $306. When car was returned was charged another $456. There is no customer service option to call and dispute they tell you to log an inquiry online but have tried 5 times now and get an unexpected error try again later message. This company is a scam and would not recommend.

They charge me fuel charges after I filled up my gas before I dropped it off. Overcharging my bill and I even have proof of my gas charges.
