      Don't rent nothing from Thrifty..They over charged my credit card and when I got back to jersey They lied and added extra charges after I spoke with a manager that lied to my face about the charges that would be reimbursed on my credit card..They are full of **** and lucky I live in jersey and can't go there in person don't ever rent **** from them

      Don't sign up for a "surprise" car on Expedia as they will give you an Electric Vehicle. When I said I didn't want an EV they said they had no gas vehicle available unless I upgraded. They then proceeded to only offer me a gas vehicle which caused my rate to double. Thrifty should be out of business.

      Unbelievably horrible experience from first moment when they waved me past the counter to the shuttle - which they had apparently done to many people to the very end - well, no end Yet, 7 months later. I am a leisure traveler and use ****** often. Waved me past the counter, so the shuttle was full of same. One person working checked me in and told me to stand aside and wait. The person who was at the counter in the terminal happened to walk past and I pointed him out to her, since she questioned why I did not go to the counter. I then was assigned a (incorrect) car. Huge line, gave me a compact and I paid for a full size sedan. Gas was around 3/4. Car was filthy inside and smelled. THENa couple of days after flying, I came down with ***** and was stuck alone, so I tried for days and days to contact them to see if I could get the car picked up. NEVER got to a person. There was no bad weather or catastrophic events - just no help from anybody. Tried minimum, twice a day and every # I could find. When I got the bill, I paid for the FULL (shouldnt have) ORIGINAL amount , even though I drove only there and back (100 miles?) and disputed the extra days. Then they had people! I got a detailed notice of what I owed, ***** My credit card company disputed it. There was a date the CC gave me that if I did not hear, it was considered credited. The date passed and I heard nothing. The next thing I get is a Collection notice. Thrifty will only answer me with it has been passed to a collection agency (still not a person, but emails). .NEVER talked to a person and the copies I have of my responses from them to my detailed emails of the circumstances were form letters and that they could not help me because it had been sent to a collection agency I had better experiences during covid travel times. Horrible, uncaring customer service. I have still not talked to a person except collection agency, who wasnt interested in the details any more than the company.

      Save yourself frustration and rent from a different company. Wish we did. We wanted to add a day to our rental with Thrifty. Called customer 4 times and the agents told us the wrong info- so we added a separate 1 day rental. The new reservation could not be combined with existing one. Had to go back next day and turn in the car and get a new one (the original reservation). The counter agents didnt help or try to trouble shoot or even note we wanted to keep the car/combine reservation. The customer service agent wouldnt help and hung up on us. Dont go with Thrifty.

      I feel completely and totally scammed by Thrifty. It is one business I will NEVER use again. I very explicitly declined all additional coverage and was in a rush and didn't review all the additional charges and found out later that I was charged for coverage that I VERY clearly remember declining. It more than doubled the cost of my rental and now it's my word against theirs. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed and also don't understand how they don't offer renters the opportunity to review charges electronically. I was in a rush and learned a ****** myself, that you can never trust a car rental company, especially Thrifty.

      Hi my name is *************************** on 01/04/2024,Upon dropping off my rental I forgot to put gas in the rental trying to rush. The associate I dropped it off with was really rude and snappy. I forgot to add gas You She snapped at me and said I needed to go fill it up or they will and charge 10 dollars a gallon. I didn't ha e time do that was fine You As I was walking away she called me back and insinuated I was smoking in the car in which I was not I dont even smoke cigarettes You And now they have attempted to charge my card almost 800 dollars She snapped at me and said I needed to go fill it up or they will and charge 10 dollars a gallon.       AWFUL!!! Never again. Coming to ******* for Cancer Treatment and booked a car well in advance. When we go to the rental counter at ********* there was a 3 hr + wait for a car. 12 people were ahead of us waiting. Not what you need to deal with especially in the situation. According to other customers there this Thrifty does this ALL THE ***** Avoid it at all costs. Not worth the lure of a good rental price.

      This company is full of scams. Like they told us that we could fill the car up or bring it back empty. So we brought it back full and then they tried to charge us $45 for the option to bring it back full. So many hidden charges that are just pure scams! Rip off company!

      Oh, I wish we would have read reviews before renting! The Ford Escape we were given first had a panel in the handle that came off in my hand when I tried to close the door. Wires were hanging out. We were going to keep it but did show the attendant, who decided to give us a different car. He was great and friendly but we regretted taking the next car. The next one had a terrible shimmy in the front end whenever we went over 40 mph. It also had something lit up in the dash saying there was a crash mitigation system issue. The car looked clean but smelled bad. We thought the price was reasonable but not for what we got. I question whether they check any of the cars out before they go to the next renter. Not happy.

      The waiting time for a vehicle was installed issue. I was never told there’s a $500 hold for debit cards (they should be transparent prior to rental) I received a call a few days after my car had been returned saying it wasn’t returned even though it had been. They authorized $125 3x without consent, and were speaking of another charge because they didn’t know the car had been returned. When I called, they had no resolution and said to call my bank. They didn’t care about what they had done and I told them I’d file a BBB claim due to their horrible customer service. They’re owned by Hertz, so avoid!!
