      Zero stars. Employee lied about the daily car rental price and refused to refund the money when we got the bill. Horrible customer service. Amazingly rude and unhelpful. Reserve from Turo or Uber.

      I reserved a car from Thrifty at ************** on November 5th for a pick up on December 25th,. After a long flight and a shuttle ride we arrived to learn that there were no cars available AT ALL. I wanted some answers but the service agent launched into a rambling and seemingly interminable monologue and every time I wanted to ask a question I was told to please let him finish. Our AirBnB was 45 inutes away and would have cost us an expensive Uber ride with still no rental car! We were told there were no cars because it was Christmas. Christmas is a foreseeable event, bad weather is not. There was no bad weather.What is the point of having a reservation if it is not honored? When **** was short on cars at ************** we were given an upgrade. There were many cars on the lot which was additionally baffling.

      Offered an electric rental no others available at *** Airport as a senior I was worried as to where charge station were...Hertz saved the day.

      My friend and I visited ******* during Christmas holidays. He rented his vehicle from Budget and I rented mine from Thrifty at *****************************. Before arriving, I thought I had a better deal from Thrifty as the rental costs were a bit cheaper when I made a reservation online. My assumption was all wrong! The agent at the airport tried to charge me additional $500 on top of $1000 that I had already paid at the time of booking. I explained to the agent that I did not need any additional insurance coverages as my own insurance covers third-party liability, enhanced accident benefits, underinsurance motorist protection, collision, comprehensive and loss of use for renting a vehicle in ****** and the US throughout. This is what I reconfirmed with my insurance broker prior to my trip and I even showed him a copy of my insurance paper, but he (who refused to identify and disclose his name) said my insurance is not good in ******* and especially for Thrifty. For these reasons, he arrogantly refused to rent me a vehicle if I did not purchase his liability insurance. What other options did I have? It was 11:30 pm with 2 of my little ************* wife so ready to go to bed. After a long argument, I was forced to agree to pay $300 more including $93 for highway tolls that I did not sign up for (all I was asked was whether I would be driving on highways, which I thought was a very weird question when asked). Moreover what is worse, I made a reservation for an SUV but what I got was a pickup truck. They said that is all they had. Wow.. Of course, all my luggage got soaking wet after a few days later when it rained heavily.My advise to whoever is trying to get a cheaper deal from Thrifty? DONT! They will rip you off & youll end up paying a lot more! Pay a little more at reservation and rent it from Budget. The lineup is way shorter at the airport, too.

      I was charged an additional $150 because I would not accept an EV. When I explain to the manager that where I was traveling an EV would not work, and that there were no chargers within a reasonable range of less than 45 minutes of where I was staying. Because I had booked the “special” on Orbitz they could give me whatever they wanted and that day they felt like ******** me and only offering an EV when they have the complete autonomy to choose. In summary never book the “special” and never book with thrifty.

      Worse service I have ever received from a company. Reserved a car at Fort Myers airport on Christmas night. When I checked in I was advised my rental would be 45 minutes late. After two hours company admitted they only had electric vehicles and no other cars available. Numerous families were left stranded and had to find other forms of transportation. I asked the company representative if there was any hope to receive a non electric vehicle and I was advised no vehicles were coming in. I went with a different company. Will never use Thrifty Car Rental

      NO STARS---Totally DISPLEASED. 12/15/2023, I traveled to Houston for a funeral, arranged for a rental vehicle upon arriving to pick up the vehicle that agent advised that they had NO vehicles in and that they did not know when they were getting any. She was nice and advised that others there waiting had been there at least two hours. This is totally unacceptable, when you gather all this information from someone booking a vehicle a text, telephone call or e-mail to warn us or give us a chance to make other arrangement would have been the proper thing to do. I hate to say it but this is not the first time I have had this experience with Thrifty but I gave them another chance and here we go again. Several of us waiting customers walked right over to Enterprise and got vehicles on the spot for the same rate as our Thrifty reservations. The employees working there were nice and understandably as frustrated as the customers; there has to be a better way of doing business! Fred *

      Definitely no ratings!!! My email letter to head office: I rented a vehicle from Hertz Car rental at the Stanfield Nova Scotia airport. I’ve been renting the car from the summer at the rate of $62.99 a day. When I returned the car October 28th, 2023, I was charged at the rate of $125.99; total charge to credit card $5380.52. I contacted the manager Jamie ********* ( who I was in communication with and was harassing me to return the car) generated a ticket number for a refund with head office (Oct 29th) I contacted customer service office today and was advised that there was no file number registered. I requested to have this matter escalated to management and promised to have a supervisor return my call. I then called the airport car rental location and was advised that no manager was on duty. I requested head office number and was denied information ( stated they were not allowed to give out that information). Approximately 1645hrs I was contacted by a supervisor ( Josh) who confirmed as well that there was no documentation for a refund or over charge reversed payment. I was advised to wait 7-8 business days for someone from the airport to respond. Jamie was dishonest about his course of actions. I feel that waiting any longer for the overcharge payment is unfair ( Scotia bank has already charged my credit for over credit amount usage). I keep getting the running and hertz employees spent weeks harassing me and leaving threatening messages but had no problem overcharging me ( with not urgency to rectify the matter ). Fast forward: I waited almost one month, and the finally the invoice was received ( after several email request). I was charged impounding fee and some other charges. I returned the car to the location. I contacted Jamie again and was not helpful, redirecting me to head office. Jamie ********, Stepanie ***** and Natalie are dishonest, scammers. They are classless, lack rude and lack professionalism. Absolute *****

      Had a terrible experience with Thrifty. They overcharged me unfairly by $250 and refused to refund the money. Please use other car rentals, this place has terrible customer service and is a rip off. Also, reserved a mid size car, but got a very small sized car.

      Do not rent a car with this company. I waited in line for 45 minutes to be told that it would be at least a 3 hour wait for a car. I had made a reservation 2 months ago. Ridiculous! I was able to go to another company and get a car and for less cost. Bad business practices if you overbook and allow reservations to be made when they’re clearly not able to accommodate all reservations. Keep in mind this was at 930 in the morning. I consider it shady.
