      Don’t even bother with them, they could care less about customers. Waited an hour and a half for a vehicle to return because they overbooked. Their manager is a complete worthless pile of crap. Asked about being compensated for their screw up and he said file a complaint. Of course after you file a complaint it goes no where because they don’t answer back, He even told us if you don’t want to wait go rent from someone else.. the car we got was filthy because as fast as the prior renter emptied their belongings out they drove the vehicle over and said who’s next this if your vehicle, by the time we got our vehicle there was probably 35 people waiting for cars. Upon return one of the agents said they constantly run out of vehicles because they have to drive the vehicles through some tunnel to get them from the other side and it always floods. We were there 9 days yet it never rained. I made someone’s day happier since when we returned the vehicle there was about 60 people waiting for vehicles. Very dishonest company. Run fast.

      I rented a car with them through Expedia to pick up December 1, 2023. We waited in a line there nearly two hours as the had 2 people working. When we finally got about 10th in line, one worker announced they were out of cars. There was still nearly 70 people in line behind us. After some arguing about a refund, we left and had a car driving out of another company within 15 minutes.No, Thrifty wouldnt refund our money but Expedia did.

      Terrible experience. Had a reservation for a rental car with Thrifty in advance, upon arrival to my destination, no cars were available. We waited, we received a damaged car that reeked of cigarette smoke. I complained onsite and had my complaints noted by the Thrifty employee at the location on my rental paperwork. No solution was offered. I submitted a complaint to Thrifty via their website. I received no response, I submitted another complaint through their website. They denied ever receiving the initial complaint; however I was able to provide the number associated with it, then they came back and said I didn't complain during my rental; to which again, I provided the email and the initial rental paperwork I had the Thrifty employee sign to the damage and smoke both done during my rental agreement time frame. I was still denied a credit. Please keep in mind I was never asking for a full refund; I felt I deserved a credit since the car was gross, damaged and my complaints were ignored. If I returned a car to Thrifty in that condition I would have been charged. After multiple attempts to deal with them directly I am now going to BBB. What they are doing is wrong, and they have consumers credit cards on file and whether they keep their end of the rental agreement or not we are charged. They violated their own complaint policy, offered no trade in for the vehicle while I was away which would have been the correct thing to do if you are going to fully charge my credit card. I would recommend any other car rental company than Thrifty. I am forced to leave one star for the review but I feel they deserve no stars.

      I was charged 12 dollars for a gallon of gas despite filling up the car on the way to drop it off. And yes it was 100%full. Deceitful practice. Hoping customers won't notice.

      This company needs to be put out of business! I reserved my rental over a month before my girlfriend and I traveled to ******** for Thanksgiving. The original quoted price was $235 for 5 days which is all we had anticipated to pay. Upon arriving in ******** we went to pick up the rental and our final receipt came out to $844! After arguing over the undisclosed fees the clerk told us that we can cancel the reservation but we will forfeit our original $235. We were stuck between a rock and a hard place so we were forced to pay the additional $600 or else we would have to spend money renting a car through a different company and we would be down $235. They deliberately do not disclose all their fees upon initial reservation because they are keenly aware that once you travel out of state you have no option but to pay the extra fees or else you won't have a car for your trip.

      WORST company ever! They are dishonest and engage in fraudulent activity. Went to pick up a prepaid car rental and was told that I didn't reserve a car, I reserved a reservation! What??? Then rented through Dollar (they are the same company) and they not only charged us for that rental but the one we didn't even get! DO NOT RENT from them.

      DO NOT RENT FROM THRIFT/HERTZ/BUDGET! Pre-paid through Wisecars online. Wisecars voucher email said they might ask for the credit card at the desk to verify the voucher. Waited in line at airport for THREE HOURS (no other car rental desks had lines of more than 3 people!!) and by the time we got someone to help us she rushed us through, asked for the credit card and signature and then sent us on our way - no explanation of anything. Later we found out she charged us for the damage waiver - which we did not need or want - making the rental TWICE the cost of what we paid Wisecars. I called Thirfty about this and they said I had to pay it. Rental went from $250 - to over $600. Do yourself a favor and use Lyft or Uber in the US - I have been doing that on my trips ever since and it is LESS than renting a car. if you do rent - DO NOT use this company! Read all of the reviews! Really though - ride-share is a much better option - no parking hassles - no directions or stress of driving in a strange place and SAVES MONEY!!

      This company does not disclose charges such as prepaid gas, adding additional driver and when stating my insurance will cover the rental car insurance however because of lack of speaking English added these charges anyway. I have call and file a complaint with the customer service to be told they are not going to refund my money. It appears when searching this happens to several consumers. This is a scam and I feel it is fraudulent.

      Dangerous...rented car in September inSeattle...had two tires completely replaced for bad tread and one repaired for slow leak!!!Demanded compensation for anxiety and was rebuffed.Careless, reckless attitude in letting car be rented in first place.DO NOT RENT FROM THRIFTY
