My experience was a 4 day ongoing nightmare. I never imagined a simple car rental could go so wrong and reck my entire vacation. For starters we drove off the airport rental lot with a screw in the front passenger tire (heard it the second we started driving) which I initially believed to be stone that would work it's way out. Upon my flat tire on I-5, I was initially given a case #, then told to call for emergency road-side assistance. I called for over 90 min's with no human contact - only a circle of pre-recorded messages and being on-hold. I finally called 911 for actual help because we were in an extremely dangerous position on the road-side in the dark with semi trucks zipping by at 70mph. Police had to barricade our car for safety. This turned into a 3-day saga consisting of 4 sep work orders from Firestone before Thrifty finally approved a repair. Thrifty also had no idea how to work with Firestone's system - even though they have a contract with Firestone. It was up to ME - the customer to be the mediator and get them to communicate and move forward with the repair. My 75 yr old mom and I resorted to alternate transportation, costing us more money. And the kicker, is that I paid $189 extra at the rental counter for BASIC insurance covering road-side assistance, which I NEVER received. I will NEVER rent from this scam of a company again.

Lets start a class action lawsuit against Thrifty!! This **** box of a company is unreal. Unreliable! Reserved a car to see sons army graduation and lo and behold there were no cars. I know Im not the first person dealing with this nor will I be the last. They are scammers and must be stopped!!!!! We have enough going on in this world, and to have to deal with something like this makes me sick!

I don’t even want to give them one star ! I rented my car on Hotwire and paid in full. When I got to the thrifty counter at the Seattle airport the clerk asked if I’d like to add insurance for $11 a day which would be $55 plus tax. I said ok , signed and initialised all of the documents. When I received my credit card bill , I saw that Thrift had charged me $274.78. When I called to inquire about the charge they said I had signed for fee and waiver damage at $34.95 a day plus tax and concession fee ! I’m disputing this charge with my credit card company but will probably end up having to pay since my signature is on the agreement. In the future , I will NOT rent from Thrifty and I don’t care how many people are behind me in line tapping their feet , I will read the agreement thoroughly. However , Thrifty was completely shady for this whole transaction. Simply ridiculous. I will post a bad review of them on every forum I can find

We rented a car from Thrifty at Hartsfield Atlanta Airport. They pushed extra costs on my card. They held $403 but only returned $200 saying it was for insurance and roadside assistance. We told them we would use our own. They claim once you return the car you get your money back but find ways to only return half of it. If we would have known a week would cost us over $600 we would have never used them. I will NEVER rent a car from them ever again. Pure robbery.

We have had nothing but trouble with this company. We’ve never paid what we were told we’d pay. It always costs $200 more minimum. Costumer service is absolutely terrible. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!

Pushy staff that try to trick you into extra fees, and then even when I arrived 20 min after my reservation time (the car should have been ready) I was forced to sit in the lobby for over an hour in incredibly uncomfortable small white chairs that look like they were made for children. Also, they said theyd give me a ***** and then came with a *******************. Overall the vibe in the lobby was very off, other customers complaining for having waited for 90 minutes and them still having no cars ready. Why rent if you dont have them available? All this while rush hour traffic gets worse and worse. Just spend the extra money and dont bother with Thrifty if you can
