This is my second time using the Thrifty car rental by Sacramento Airport. These have again overbooked their cars, so that even though I reserved a car, there is no car available for at least an hour. I have already spent an hour in line. The last time I used Dollar rental (now connected to Thrifty), I was told that only SUVs are available. This is a horrible business model and the customer service is deceitful! It is a pattern of mismanagement and misrepresentation of their product. I would like this company to be investigated for false advertising and for being a dishonest business.

I rented a vehicle from the Sacramento *** Airport location on April 11 2023. I booked the reservation in advance with ********* Airlines for $496.59 and had a set amount for a period of 9 days. On arrival I was checked in by a represenative named *****. I told him I have a reservation and was informed of a upgrade due to my credentials/job. I looked into it, but also told him I did not need any full coverage or roadside assistance as I have my own insurance. ***** would not budge and I repeated I did not want it. He then stated to me that I can look into a refund/voucher at a later time for the rental after drop off. I then went to the rental. The vehicle was not well-cleaned and was just returned. I took the vehicle out for about half a day and one of the tires blew out completely. Thankfully I was near the pickup and went back for a replacement. A few days later going to drop off, I come to see the charge at $884.14 I attempted to dispute this charge with *****, his manager along with online representatives ***** and ******. I again repeated to them I only wantes to be charged to what I booked the rental for. I was continued to be given runarounds and not getting an answer. I proceeded to dispute the transaction with my credit card company with verification of original booking. I was credited back $387.55 for the difference. I was contacted today September 22 2023 by a Transworld Systems *** (debt collector) saying the $387.55 which was investigated by my card company and credited back to me is still owed. I am in shock as this issue has not been resolved despite all efforts on my end. Renting with Thrifty has been a nightmare, full of lies and pushing extra cost packages I say no to. This will be the first and last time I am renting with Thrifty. I will be going back to other companies as they do not do these practices when I work with them.

During my visit in ***** from 9/6/23 through 9/10/23 I rented a car through this company and was asked for a credit card for a holding fee of $200 and was told I needed coverage through them even though I paid for coverage for the vehicle through Travelocity. The coverage was $268 so the total charged on my Amex was $468. I wake up on 9/7/23 in my hotel and see my credit card was charged $1,211.60 saying my rental was returned in ***********. I was still in Vegas until the 10th of September and stated I had a ****** Altima. This means my information was fraudulently used by this company to pay for someone else rental. I go in person to the car rental in the airport and the manager on duty *********************** shows no respect nor professionalism. She and **** make the company Thirfty and ***** look bad they speak to you rudely and show you they truly dont care about anything wrong with your rental. Because of this company my credit has gone down 65 points and I had to fight like heck to get my money back on my credit card cause they want to play games with peoples money and credit.

They didn't have my reservation and if I wanted a car, I would have had to wait 2 hours. Unless I pay 300$ then one would magically be available. We just got off a 6 hour flight we were out of food and water our child tired and hungry. So of course I paid the 300$. And there always about 100 other customers with the same complaint and the same resolution was given. Complete scam!

Thrifty Car Rental ******************************** quoted 1 price and once the car was returned they charged my card another ******. Do not Rent a car from this company or Hertz and Dollar. Overcharged and am not satisfied with the rudeness of the management named **** from Tennessee.

Zero stars! Terrible customer service and a complete scam! A prepaid reservation means nothing. I had a prepaid reservation for a car rental with Thrifty at the *******, ** airport location last Tuesday, 9/12/23. Upon my arrival at the kiosk I was told that there were no more cars for the day and that cars were given on a first come first serve basis and a paid reservation meant nothing. After that interaction I called the Thrifty customer service number and they assured me if I had a prepaid reservation my car would be waiting for me. It was 5pm and I had just traveled across country from **********. In ******* many of the car rental locations close at 6pm. I was not able to obtain a car at the airport due to the late booking and time of day. I then had to take and Uber to a location about a mile from the airport. I was losing time and I had no car. By the ***** of luck we were able to find an off the airport lot owned by a private company that was able to assist us with a vehicle. The gentleman stayed open and hour after to accommodate other customers from Thrifty that had previous reservations as well. A message to Thrifty, this is NOT how a business should be run. You should not prepay for a reservation only to be told you have no vehicle. The vehicle should be there as agreed upon. It is a scam, and when I conducted a personal poll on a ******** website, I found that many other families who had also booked with Thrifty in the past had the same experience. We were visiting my son who is a freshman in college. He was sick that day and I needed to get to him quickly and this was an unfortunate set of circumstances. Beside the inconvenience this is completely unacceptable. I will never use Thrifty and I will make sure to tell everyone I know,

Thrifty rental car at ******* **************************** is HORRIBLE, they will take the reservation, take your money out of the account, and when you get there will tell you there is a wait for 6-8 hrs or tell you that they will not be able to accommodate you at all. Since the money is gone off your account and will take days to add it back, you will be left stuck. The young ladies at the counter have HORRIBLE customer service skills as well. I have never been treated so bad than I was on Sat 09/16 when dealing with ANYONE. They don't offer any resolution other than "I don't know what to tell you" to ease the discomfort. No communication, no cancelling of the reservation or NOTHING. I caught an uber to pick up the car only to get there and get told that they can't honor my reservation and I need to try another company.I will NEVER reserve with them again.

I reserved a car for pick up in Portland, Oregon, two weeks in advance and confirmed my reservation by phone twice on the day of my arrival. When I landed they told me they had run out of cars. I was one of at least 10 customers left high and dry. I sent an email to Thrifty asking then to compensate me. I received a form email in response saying sometimes they run out of cars, too bad it happened to you, bye. I think Hertz owns Thrifty, so I've written off Thrifty and all Hertz companies for my business in the future.

I am in utter shock right now. I arrive at the Tampa Airport in Florida after a long flight to be told I cannot rent the car I reserved from Thrifty. The man I spoke with told me his name was William and that he was the manager. None of the employees had name tags on at the Thrifty airport car rental area. The man was black and bald. I did take a photo of him. He informed me that he could not rent to me because I have an expired driver's license. My license is from Texas. I am active duty military and informed him that I do not need to update my license per Texas law. I showed him my military ID card and he still refused to rent the car to me. So now I am in Tampa FL without a car. It is now going to cost me double to uber to the locations I want to go. I am utterly disgusted that he treated me this way. I have never had an issue renting a car before. I would like someone to call me ASAP about what happened.
