Thrifty Car Rental is a scam. Fraudulant charges. Zero customer service. Fight the jerks. Call your bank and deny charges.

This place is the worst, I pre booked y care 2 months in advance and when I got to ATL airport to pick it up they said they didn't have any cars and we could come back the next day which wasn't a choice since my son was graduating and the drive was over an hour back to airport. I was told by another company I ending up having to get a car from that other places overbook on purpose. I am now out my original rental as well as the cost of renting from a different company. They are also not confirming that I didn't pick up my car so I can get my money back from them. I will never rent from them again I hope other people see this message and do the same.

Fraudulent company. Paid $627 for a rental through expedia and then Thrifty added $494 in charges for damage protection that I specifically declined. Ticket counter manager said he couldn't resolve and to call the billing department. The billing department said to resolve at the counter, so now I am in a circular reference and unable to resolve. Search for Thrifty and these complaints are extremely common. It appears this company's business model is to bait customers with a low rental fee and then tack on hidden charges.

Do not go with this company for rental cars. I got charged twice, totaling over $700 for a one day rental. Their customer service is non existent and there is no way to speak to a representative. Priceline and I have tried for over one month to get this resolved and they simply refuse to answer/respond. Worst run company I have ever dealt with in my life.

Avoid this company. The tank was not full when I picked up the car, and I returned it full now they are charging me for gas. Save yourself the headache and rent from Alamo or Enterprise!!!

Less than 1 star - horrible billing pratices - it's all about the benjamins. Upgraded at SEATAC and agreed to pay for a full tank of gas. I was also inadvertently charged for Damage Waiver for $377.91 and Premium Emergency Roadside Service for $80.91. Totalling an extra $458.82. I NEVER agree to these charges and always decline. When I asked for a copy of the doc showing I declined (you know, all the little boxes you have to initial) - Lo and Behold, they can't find it. I'm screwed. NEVER EVER NEVER will I do business with Thrifty and will encourage everyone I know NOT to rent from this company.

I reserved a car thru Expedia to be picked up at Orlando airport ! When I got to Orlando around midnight I was told I had to take an electric car which I do not want ! Oh you can ipgrade to a midsize suv for $34 I said ok, it turns out it was an additional $35 a day and the gave me a Kia Soul… that’s not a mid size suv ! Then when transaction went thru the deposit I gave Expedia was not applied, they said it had not been applied… so, my 4 day rental that I had rented for $160 ended up costing me over $700 !!!!!! Robbery, cause you’re stranded at the airport at midnight and they know they can get away with it…. Never again !!!!!!

Thriftys electric car gimmick must be raking in the dough?! See, they give an amazing cant pass it up deal for a rental. Then they make it electric KNOWING you cant charge it. That way you have to upgrade and give them MORE money at the desk! The desk agent said this is what that is. He apologized profusely and tried to help. I ended up paying extra and getting a filthy basic car. Horrible experience!!!!!!
