Thrifty scammed me! I booked a $750 car rental through Expedia. I gave the man at Thrifty my reservation number. I was very clear and explicit, I literally showered him my phone with the reservation number. He pretended to write it down and then drafted up a whole new contract without telling me! I thought he was using my Expedia reservation, but he didnt! When I called about it, they said not to worry that I will only be charged the $750. I was charged about $1,400.00!!! The call center is horrible. They read from a script and I cant leave a message. Now that Im charged the $1400, they will not help refund me. I feel taken advantaged of.

The employees are unhelpful and leave their station for 5 mins plus. This is the only car rental company with a line out the door. The employees have no urgency with helping people despite people waiting over an hour for a rental car. There's also very little ventilation in the room where you have to line up.

Absolutely the worst car rental company. Aside from the long lines to get to the counter, the lack of service to clean vehicles have caused a significant backlog on vehicles readily available. We waited over 3 hours for our rental and there are more than 20 people in line in front of us. The entire lobby is full of customers waiting for their rental. Its absurd that the company does not have the personnel to clean and wash cars, especially knowing the amount of reservations they receive for each day. Its poor management and failure.

Thrifty The Trashy!! I booked on Priceline for same day pickup/7 day rental. After being dropped off, I get to the counter and was told they don't take same day 3rd party rentals and there would be a car available tomorrow morning, 7:30 am. What about today, I need a car TODAY!! When I inquired about the 7 days, she said they would extend it one day since my pickup would be a day later. After this BS, why would I want to rent from Thrifty??? So, I contacted Priceline and was told Thrifty has a contract with Priceline to do same day rentals. The Priceline agent proceeds to contact Thrifty to cancel my reservations and they don't answer the phone?????????????????????. I reach out to Thrifty and this agent was no damn help, AT ALL!! At this point, all I want is for this reservation to be cancelled and my money refunded to my credit card. I WILL NEVER do business with Thrifty!! You have been warned, Thrifty is not for the customer!! All I can say is, Thank God I was in my hometown and could catch an Uber back home, otherwise, I would be in a really bad situation. I'm so pissed, I might do a class action lawsuit to stop this type of foolishness. *DO NOT RENT FROM THRIFTY*

IF I COULD, I WOULD GIVE ZERO TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS, THEIR CARS AND THE WAY THEY HANDLE A CUSTOMER. THEY GAVE ME A UNSERVICED CAR WHICH WOULD HAVE LED TO ME BEING IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING. WHEN I COULDN'T REACH THEIR S***** CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MIDNIGHT, I WENT AHEAD AND REPAIRED THEIR CAR TO WHICH THEY REFUSED TO GIVE A REFUND. ABSOLUTE NEGLIGENCE ON THE COMPANY'S PART!! DO NOT GET A CAR FROM THEM. I AM NEVER RENTING FROM THEM AGAIN AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO RENT FROM THEM. THEY COSTED ME A LOSS OF MONEY AND TIME AND I WOULD HAVE LANDED WITH A HIGH MEDICAL BILL.

I booked and paid for a Thrifty car rental through Expedia to pick up in Indianapolis. I said I wanted the CDW and let them know that I would fill the car up and didn't need the prepay option. I had been up since 4am and still had a 2 hour drive ahead of me, so I was tired. There was a man screaming at the customer service people from Hertz/Thrifty and it was very distracting. The first car I got smelled like an ashtray, but they arranged a different one. When I returned the car, there was no one to check you in. You just had to leave the keys and hope for the best. My card was charged by Thrifty and it was almost $400 more than what I was expecting through Expedia. Thrifty added Liability Insurance Supplement - $169.65. Personal Accident Insurance - $67.59, Fuel Purchase Option - $49.61, and Premium Emergency Roadside Service - $89.91. These items were not discussed or mentioned so the charges were a surprise. I contacted Thrifty and they basically said, "Too bad, so sad" Thrifty did refund the fuel charge after I complained twice and produced a gas receipt, but said they can't verify that I didn't want the other charges. What? I didn't know these other things existed. If the fuel charge was added and I didn't want it, then the other charges that weren't discussed should be refunded, as well. I would like a full refund for the other charges. Their business model seems to run off of deceptive practices. We will never rent from these companies again. I've had some poor car rental experiences before, but this one is the worst. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Beware of Thrifty, Honolulu. They added nearly $500 of insurance I declined to my bill, and then the only way to resolve it was to return the car and re-rent it. Amidst the four hours of my day on vacation this process absorbed, I re-rented the car and paid the difference. The agent at the counter assured me that the total rental cost would now equal what my Expedia invoice showed. This took four reprintings and resigning of the invoices, as you must sign before you can actually see the agreement, or the amount. That seems wildly fraudulent, however this is not the worst part of the thrifty experience. After assurances that we were finished, and I was now paying the right amount I finished my vacation. I returned the car spotless, and full of gas. Upon boarding my plane home I received an additional $209.56 charge, charging for fuel, and a number of other things. Considering I had just filled the car with gas, I was furious. There is no way to dispute this with thrifty over the phone, you have to go to the counter in Honolulu. Once landing in Alaska I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Thrifty then billed me separately, but when I called to pay the bill, they had already sent me to collections. The only upside of this entire fiasco, is that I've rented cars with a number of other companies and the process has been smooth and simple. So I have other options, and can safely put Thrifty on the never use again list, and warn all my friends and families of this ridiculous saga of fraud and poor business practices.

Horrible company. I booked the rental car for two days and was given a total of $113.89. I ended up paying $285.57 because of fees and misleading charges. If 0 stars were possible, that is what they deserve.

Worst car rental company I have ever used! If I could choose negative 10 stars I would. I rented a car in Hartford Connecticut. Picked up a 2020 Nissan Rogue which I prepaid for 8 weeks prior to rental. I drove to Texas with the car shaking BAD at 65mph also very disgusting. Half way through my trip to Texas the maintenance lights came on, made it to Texas and Called thrify customer service which took forever then to be transfer to road side assistance and was told to bring the car to the closest location to exchange it. I went in the grab another car, brought it to the air bnb 10 minutes down the road and noticed the tires on the 2nd rental were completely bald! The two front tires had plugs and the rear tire was showing the metal that’s how bald these tires were. I called again and waited 1 hour on hold to be transfer again to road side assistance AGAIN. They refused to bring me a new car so I had to go back to the airport with my life on the line risking a blowout on the highway to pick up another. The last car was alot smaller than what I had rented, shook at 65mph and also was extremely dirty. I asked for something else (which they wouldn’t give me) the women at the desk said not one word to me; extremely unfriendly of helpful, the women that took my 2nd car return from me stepped on and broke my $500 glasses (she claimed they were in the floor, I know they weren’t) NEVER APOLOGIZED. I spoke with many employees at the Bradley airport AND the San Antonio airport and not one person made anything better. Thrifty made this trip terrible!! I will NEVER RENT FRON THEM AGAIN, I will also inform my social media following to also not rent from this company. I went through three cars. These people need to take better care of their cars. People lives are depending on it.

Beware: Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar Rented a car from Hertz, online for pickup at Portland Airport, what a mess. Two customers in front of me. My turn came after 20 or so minutes. Hertz agent with a bad attitude told me , almost smugly, that I had a Thrifty reservation number, not Hertz and get in line at Thrifty. Confirmation email is Hertz, but he refused to help me . Sent me to the Thrifty counter where two agents were available to help. By the time I signed paperwork, 10 other customers were in line, taking 20-30 minutes per customer, WITH reservations. Obviously No planning for flight arrival. Two agents, one of whom left after 30 minutes for his dinner break, which left one agent to take care of 10 of us. Reservation was for Bolt EV. MISTAKE. Agent had no specific info available on charging station locations, or how long it takes to charge the car tgey we’re renting to me for a family vacation. With such a long line behind me, hesitated to push for info, assumed something would be in car. NOPE. Agent at car pickup knew nothing, or was told to avoid having “how to use” conversations with customers. Car was charged to its maximum…284 miles. Headed East from airport to Hood River area, Signed up for two different charging apps. Between both apps there were three possible locations for charging. First one didn’t have Level 2 charging capability, which is what the Bolt was setup for. 2nd one wasn’t working at all. By the time we found the third one, waited in line for 30 minutes for our turn , determined it had working, proper charging adapter, and hooked up we were down to 65 miles of remaining power. Let the charger do its thing, and after 15 minutes our distance guage said 68 miles. At a rate of five minutes of charging per mile, it would have taken us over 10 hours to recharge to capacity. Obviously not a car for a family vacation. Barely made it back to PDX, no gas fueled cars available. Had to switch to Enterprise
