Do not rent a car from this company. 2 1/2 wait on line at ***. When we finally got to the counter we were told the car wouldn't be ready for another 2 hours. When we finally made it to our hotel I checked my credit card account and saw a charge of $542. even though this car was prepaid. Now I have to deal with this to and try to get it reversed. Forget trying to talk to a rep on the phone. There is no such thing as customer support!!!! I am beyond angry!!

I would never recommend thrifty to anybody. This is by far one of the worst car services ever. I had a reservation and ** got thrifty and got ripped off unless you want to lose $1800 for no reason do not book with thrifty. They are thieves, and they work with scam artist out of *** to take your money. I do not recommend stay away.

picked up car in *******, first car I chose had a maintenance light come on as I exited the parking lot. Took it back and got another. Good car ran well, until I got pulled over by the police in ********** because it was reported stolen. After a ***************** 90 degree heat , it was determined the car was fine but the plates didn't match the car. They let me go but kept the plates. Returned the car the next day told the agent about it and he said "sorry about that" then I returned the car with more than a 1/2 tank but they charged me for a full tank later. Guess I didn't read the small print. just got a final bill for $500 which was fees and taxes, $79 for gas and a $400 cleaning fee. interior of backseat of car was a bit dirty when I picked it up and outside was washed but not dried so there were water spots all over. Just my wife and I were in the car nothing in backseat all week. was able to get the cleaning fee waived not happy about the gas charges, must be their way to milk the customer. will think twice before using them again.

Agent offered the pre-paid fuel option where I can return the car without a full tank and "not worry about the fuel." I asked if they charge extra for this service and the agent said they "don't charge any extra, it's the same as if you filled the tank yourself."I mistook this to mean I'll only pay for however much fuel they need to fill the tank. But no, they pre-charged me a full tank of fuel and did not refund me anything when I returned with half a tank full. When I called to ask about it, they're automated voicemail says clearly they don't refund for unused fuel. But this is pure disinformation and an unethical business practices by including a payment clarification in a section that guests will only go to AFTER they've paid.

Horrid company. I just waited three hours for a rental car I had reserved. Dozens of others with rental cars from Thrifty, Dollar, and Hertz - all owned by Hertz) were in the same boat and waited along with me. The man working the Thrifty counter laughed and smiled as he told each new customer"it'll be about two and a half hours until your car is ready."

DONT RENT A CAR FROM THRIFTY OR DOLLAR CAR RENTAL!! I gave it one star but there should be a ZERO-star option for terrible businesses like Thrifty. First, we stood in line for 2 hours at ************* even though we had a booked reservation. When we got to where the cars were supposed to be the employees very rudely said they were out of cars, and we would have to wait even longer. When we finally got the car, it was obvious from all the dog hair inside that the vehicle had not been cleaned. There was writing all over the windshield that didnt seem to bother the Thrifty employees one bit. There were no other cars available according to employees. After our vacation we received an email from Thrifty regarding my booking experience. We told them everything, but they couldnt care less about paying customers. Worst car rental experience weve ever had.

NOT AN ETHICAL COMPANY. I reserved a 7-passenger vehicle through Expedia for pickup at ************** International. When we arrived at the rental counter the line was long and it took nearly an hour for my turn. After completing all the necessary Q&A I was informed that the vehicle I reserved was not ready. It was undergoing refurbishing from a prior rental and would not be available for another 45 minutes. Because I had appointments pre-scheduled, I could not wait for them to clean the car. I asked for something else. The only vehicle available was also a 7-passenger, but I would have to pay an additional $120 plus taxes. I believe that if I have a reservation and it is not ready when I requested it, Thrifty should have provided an equal of better replacement at no charge. After I returned the car and Thrifty asked me for a review, I told them of my displeasure. Rather than try to make it right, they simply said they would try to do better for other customers. I will not rent from Thrifty again even if it is cheaper than their competitors. They lost a customer for good.

Reservation ID: *********** Location: ****** -Waited in line for 2 hours for the car. My kids took an Uber to the hotel while I waited for the rental car because they were late for an appt. I didn't get to the hotel with the rental until 10pm.-The first car was defective. The morning after arrival, the car stalled out at the stop light and it took several attempts to get the car started back up. Awhile later couldn't get car to start for 15 minutes. I got to my meeting late and whenready to leave again, the car would not start. I called the Thrifty Emergency Roadside assistance line. Waited on hold 45 minutes in the heat. Tried to start the engine one last time and it started. I missed my daughters dance performance (The reason we were in *******) The next evening, went to leave hotel and again didn't start. Sat on hold for 1.5 hours for roadside assistance to pick up, with screaming and tired kids waiting. Had to wait for a tow truck to get the car back to their lot. The next morning, when we should have been leaving to go see my sister in ************,I had to take another uber back to the airport to get another rental. Finally get another car and back to the hotel, two hours later.-Drive to visit my sister (140-mile drive one way) went to the gas station to clean off all the bugs on the window so we could see (no window wiper fluid in the car). The soap left streaks on the windows.-Upon returning, I got billed $859.22 for the rental. The original cost for my rental was supposed to be $270.69 plus $13.95 per day for tolls and the added $10.95 per gallon remaining for them to refill the tank.-Was also charged $400 outside washing fee! Other than the soap on the window, there was nothing wrong with the car. -I filed multiple complaints with Thrifty, no response. I lost 2 days of my 5-day trip dealing with issues. And they don't care. Should have 0 star option.

Please please do not rent from Thrifty. I recently rented a car from them in Orlando and specifically told the person at the counter that I did not need insurance. However the lady tacked on liability insurance for my car and I did not notice the charge until after choosing my car and checking out of the parking ramp. I brought it to the attention of the lady scanning the car. She said that I needed to call the 800 number on my receipt to dispute the charge and that there was nothing she could do at this point. Got to my hotel and called them and was told they couldn’t help me so I got stuck with the extra $200 charge. Very frustrating! Total scam! Not sure how they are still in business at this point! Don’t rent from this company as there customer service sucks. Please beware!

A poor company to do business with. I purchase a package deal through Travelocity which included fight and car rental (Thrifty Car Rental *************. Upon arriving in Orlando I found the waiting line at the Thrifty Counter had a 3 hour wait to get to the Thrifty Agent. After standing in line for a half hour with the waiting line not moving coupled with only three (3) Thrifty Agents to assist well over 100 clients in line I rented form ******** *** ****** who processed my paperwork and was in my rental car in less than 15 minutes. I find a 3 hour wait to get my car previous booked and paid for is unacceptable to say the least. Thrifty denied my request for a refund on a vehicle I didn’t rent. I have video of the waiting line and the lack of Thrifty Agents to support my complaint.
