I was ROBBED. I recently returned a car to Thrifty in ****** only to get to the ************** realizing I left my wallet on the dashboard with both all my ID and nearly $500. Returning immediately, I was told the car had already gone to their on premises car wash. Not letting me go into the car wash area, the parking lot attendant ****** went in search of my wallet, nearly 1/2 hour later he came back and informed me no wallet was found. After verbalizing my disbelief the desk manager came over to me and informed me he was sure his "team" would never steal property. Not having ID and having to fly home to NY I insisted they return my wallet and stated " I don't care about the money". I refused to leave knowing full well someone had it. They kept going back and forth into this parking lot and low and behold and after nearly 2 1/2 hours later , nearly 10PM , surprise , surprise , a person , who they would not identify (supposedly a parking lot Manager) , gave *** my wallet minus the money. Now I am livid and wanted the money they obviously stole. After going back and forth with the waiting room manager for another 1/2 hour I gave up and decided to try and catch the last flight out to NY (which I missed and had to spend another $250 for a hotel). In hindsight I should of called the police but that would of added hours onto this ordeal. Again I stated this matter was not over and would follow up with ***** from NY. Well my complaint case , #******* ongoing for nearly a month, and forget about speaking with someone directly, has gone nowhere. The last email they sent me this week (Jan 10) from ***************** they state the ********************** agreement states that Thrifty is not responsible for property left in a car. That speaks volumes as to the management of this company. If they paid attention to my complaint, you would think the regional manager or someone responsible for that location would want to address a situation where their employee stole from a customer.

This is now the second time i prepaid and rented from thrifty (both in ******* and in *******) and it was at least a 3-5 hour wait because they ran out of cars. It feels like they overbook regardless of their supply. This last time they quoted this wait time for a car and it was 11pm at night so they expected everyone to just spend the night at the airport car rental counter. The ethics feel very questionable here and they refused a refund

If you have a non-refundable reservation after picking up your car, say goodbye to your money. You will have to wait 2+ hours to get a vehicle. You pay in advance just to be told that you will have to wait once there. No consideration of customers time.

Avoid *** at all cost. No matter what time you arrive you will have few clerks serving almost 200 people! They are understaffed and they don't care about how long you will be waiting. MY record was 3 weeks ago, 2h30' to pick up a car I've reserved and prepaid weeks before. I arrive with a red flight, there were elderly and people with kids in line, people just loosing themselves and getting more and more frustrated and angry, to not to mention how tired you are after a long flight arriving at that hour.I've tried to call the costumer service...and they offered me a free day rental (I've rented the car for 4 weeks) so my almost 3 hours waiting in line for them...worth 25 bucks. Stay away from this location! When you search online there are many more way to rent car from them and other big companies outside the airport with no more than 15' line.

Absolutely horrible and disgusting what this company will do to try and rip you off any deceitful way possible. I returned my car rental on April 10th to the Phoenix Sky Harbor drop off. I made sure to completely top off the gas 5 miles from the drop off location. The next day, I received a charge on my credit card from Thrifty for $28.57 for gas. I had to waste 20 minutes of my valuable time on the phone with Thrifty customer service to get this charge removed. It appears that this is something Thrifty is known to do as the rep I spoke with was not surprised when I mentioned this deceitful tactic to him. The rep did refund my money (in 5-7 business days it will be removed from my CC). However, I will never rent from Thrifty again and I would encourage everyone else to do the same. I'd give these losers a 0 star rating if I could.

We had stood in line for 2 hours to pick up our car that had been pre booked. The agent rushed us along and we were anxious to get our car and let the 2 hour wait behind us get theirs. We were never offered insurance or said anything about it. We have our own car insurance that covers it and have never taken insurance before. Upon getting our bill we had been charged $297 for insurance. Poor service. Poor customer service.

I wish there was an option for ZERO Star since I don't believe Thrifty deserves one star either. I used this rental car company only for once but never again. I highly do not recommend anyone use this company for anything. I made a payment on Expedia for car rental from Tampa International Airport and already pre-paid the car rental amount before picking up the car. During the check-in, agency at the Tampa airport asked me to provide a credit card only for deposition and damages in case needed. After we dropped the car, I see they charged me with $471 saying damage&lost fee is not refundable. However, the local agency told me that they will charged back that amount once I drop the car without any damages. The agency I talked to already confirmed that there is no damage on the car but they are still charging me with damage&lost fee even though there is no issue. I have been renting cars for years and this is the first time I am coming up with this kind of an issue. How can a company could charge customers for damage&lost fee where there is no reported damages on the car? This is totally unacceptable and unethical. They are charging me for a second time more than the rental amount I prepaid. So bizarre and frustrating.

I prepaid for my rental online for the Seattle airport location (SEATAC) . Once I got to the counter to pick up my rental I confirmed with the clerk that it was prepaid and I told her twice that I did not want the additional insurance. I was tired after a long flight and signed the contract. After returning the car I received the final receipt via email and there was a $175 charge for the insurance that I verbally declined twice with the clerk. I was foolish in trusting that what I was signing didn't include it, but I was tired and didn't read the contract line by line. I called Thrifty once I caught it, but of course it was too late because they already had my signature. I told them I felt it was underhanded and sneaky how that was done. Basically seemed like taking advantage of a tired traveler who just wanted to get to their location, who was trusting that verbally stating their denial of coverage was enough. I recommend using any of the other rental agencies. This was my first and last time I will use Thrifty.

Zero Stars. Saturday March 25. Arrived at West Palm Beach airport waited 55 minutes to get to the desk then was told to wait at the airport for one hour for a car to be available. Went for the car at the airport depot and was told to wait another hour. The car was filthy, dirty, and the gas was between half and three-quarter. call malfunctioned 10 miles into my trip call for assistance and was told I would not be able to get a new car until Monday because they were closed on Sunday. They appear to be so understaffed that they cannot possibly get you a car on time.
