Thrifty car rental is the worst run organization. ************* airport location had customers waiting over 2 hours for cars. They lied and said they were cleaning them and there were only two at the time. There were over 30 people waiting. It was a mess. Then they hold $500 on your debit card, basically make you get the toll at $15/day, want you to get the insurance and try to get you to agree to let them get the fuel at the end. Terrible experience. I will never rent from them again and will let everyone else know this as well. No compensation for the inconvenience and time wasted.

Worst, rudest, & shadiest rental car company I’ve ever dealt with. Rented an SUV from Ft Lauderdale airport. Waited over 2 hrs past my rental pick up time for the car. The agents announced to the extra long line of customers, that it didn’t matter if you had a reservation, we would all expect to wait 2-21/2 hours for a car. When I finally got the car it was NOT the car I had booked - much smaller & was supposed to seat 5 but barely room in the trunk (which was a hatchback) for 2 medium sized suitcases. Even though I booked through Expedia & declined the insurance & declined it again when I was asked by the agent at the counter, he added it on anyway without my knowledge. Was supposed to be $285 & was charged $200 more in addition. When I discovered the discrepancy in price, was told by a manager that I had initialed it & basically “too, bad sucker” & would not refund anything whatsoever. Thrifty is horrible. I have traveled all over the world since I was a teen - I’m an experienced & have rented cars too many times to count. Usually I rent from Enterprise but they don’t have a location @ Fort Lauderdale airport. NEVER have I felt so deceived & SO scammed by a car rental company. I will NEVER rent from Thrifty, Dollar, or whoever the hell they are - bunch of scammers & thieves. All I can say is Karma. All that deceit will come back to bite you Thrifty!

Rented from the Phoenix Sky Harbor Location. They added extra charges to my account after i returned the vehicle. They did not have my economy vehicle so they upgraded me to an SUV. This was not a free upgrade as they promised. They didn’t show me a break down.. SCAMMERS! It was an extra $80 on top of the $48.54 i prepaid for economy. When i returned the vehicle i had two workers advise it was a free upgrade. I also was charged for gas when i returned it with full tank!! PLEASE NOTE WHEN YOU PRE-PAY GAS, ACCEPT UPGRADES, etc THEY ARE GETTING COMMISSION. I HOPE THEY ENJOYED TAKING EXTRA HARD EARNED MONEY FROM ME. ALSO THEY DON’T GIVE REFUNDS. IT TOOK ME 11DAYS TO GET MY GAS MONEY RETURNED. Scam Artist!!

I rented a vehicle through Travelocity.COM and was charged $486, upon arriving in Las Vegas and picking up the vehicle I was charged $667 at the counter thinking this was just taxes added on and them not actually charging my card yet! Upon completion of my trip I looked at my charges on my credit card and not only was I charged $486 by Travelocity.COM I was also charged another $667 by Thrifty. So I called their customer service number and got a very rude woman that was absolutely no help, she told me that $667 charged by Thrifty was additional charges, I then asked additional charges? For what? She started listing things I never heard of before, the only additional charge should have been my daughter as an additional driver which was $51. I find it ridiculous that the additional charges for $667 which I didn’t ask for and the actual charge of $486 for the vehicle itself. So I was charged $1153 for what started out as a $76 a day rental car. I will never do business with Thrifty Rental Cars again and I suggest no one else to do the same! I am no stranger to renting vehicles i travel a lot and usually rent from Enterprise or Hertz and have never had a problem I will continue with the business I know and trust from now on, lesson learned.

Worst car rental place ever. We made our reservations for our car 2 months ahead of time for thrifty out of *******. We had to wait in line for 3 hours till we could finally talk to someone. Then we were sent out to a parking garage to get the vehicle. We find another line with a couple hundred people in it and they ran out of cars. We ended up switching rental companies. Huge headache when you have a 3 and 5 year old at the airport till almost 2 am. I would never recommend them.

Complete scammers. They overcharged me by hundreds of dollars and this receipt doesn't put any of the deposits on here for some reason. I thought it was sketchy when they have you insert your card without showing you what your paying for. Their online team even gave me a credit authorization release number but my bank said nothing is pending.

Beware of deceptive practices to charge for you optional insurance: when I picked up my vehicle at the *************** ** airport location on 11/30/22, after waiting in line for an hour, I told the desk clerk that I did not need any supplemental insurance. My Blue Chip profile reflects this declination of insurance as I am covered by my personal car insurance. However, when I retuned the vehicle on 12/6/22 I noticed that they had charged me $209.94 for optional loss damage waiver coverage. They refused to credit me of this charge; however I was able to get my credit card company to reverse the charge. Thrifty continues to send demands for payment however. My advise is that if you rent a car from this business, that you hold up the line however long it takes you to read the fine print on their contract to ensure they are not charging you for something you declined.

Booked a Thrifty rental car weeks in advance for DFW - waited in line 30 minutes to find out they were out of cars. Waited an hour for a promised car to be cleaned - along with about 30 other customers - then told it would be another hour wait. Told them I wanted to cancel but had to wait on 30 minute call to Travelocity to confirm cancellation. No offers from Thrifty to discount rental - no reliable info about whether there actually were cars for all of their customers. Get your act together Thrifty. You stole half a day for all of us customers with zero grace or apologies.

Terrible experience. I rented a car for Salt Lake City and over the phone I specifically inquired and upgraded to get a promised four wheel drive/all wheel drive vehicle for planned snow/winter conditions. When I got to the counter I was told that only some of these models were all wheel drive and they were out of them. Technically, they said, their agreement was to provide me with the model-- not necessarily an AWD version. I was welcome to pay hundreds of dollars more to get an all wheel drive in another model. Clearly, a slimy bait and switch, and when I complained then and by email, absolutely no apology or refund. A truly despicable way to run a business and I will never use Hertz or Thrifty again even if I pay more elsewhere. Beware of predators.
