I had made my reservation online for a car rental in Los Angeles at a price of $761.00. Yesterday, when I went to pick up my car, the charges came to over $1300.00. I argued with the customer representative asking why it was so much more and she stated it was the airport fees. I disagreed and she took a yellow highlighter and scribbled where the the airport taxes ere added. It still didn't make sense with me. But, at this point, I'm stuck. I drove two hours to Bakersfield and looked at the other documents I received AFTER I signed. The additional cost was $450.00 for insurance. I don't need additional insurance as I have full coverage from my insurance company on rentals. I immediately call Thrifty. They told me I had to go to the counter where I rented the car. I am two and half hours away. So unethical and shameless. I will update this review with the outcome.

Charleston Airport Location and the staff has made this such a traumatic experience from the start of the check-in until now. When I first came to pick up the vehicle, I felt as if I was being screened. A young, African American couple looking to rent a luxury SUV. Upon arrival, I was asked what my occupation was and where I intended to take the vehicle. Not one customer before me, nor during my experience with Katherine were asked these questions. Michelle was made aware when I picked the vehicle up that I would most likely need to extend the vehicle. I also spoke to Michelle on 11/19 and expressed that I would be extending further and explained my emergency circumstances. I also called back multiple times with no answer and a full voicemail (which happens quite often at this location) to give a definitive return date, and emailed as a courtesy when I still didn’t reach anyone on Monday morning. But instead of acknowledging the communication efforts, the company decided to Repo the vehicle. On 11/21 when I arrived to the airport location, I was met with gruesome service from Ms. M. I was yelled at and belittled in front of other customers, I was threatened and verbally attacked, I was followed by others on the staff, and the police were called on me, among many other things. Ironically, Ms. M. charges a smoking fee and takes pictures of the vehicle about 40 minutes AFTER I left the premises. She declined to allow me to replace the gas. I spoke with someone from the companies team who advised that someone would call me back to resolve this matter, and again, never heard from anyone! This traumatic experience has caused much stress, embarrassment, anxiety, and other feelings among myself and my family. It kills me that my two-year daughter had to experience this sickening behavior and watch her mother be questioned by 3 police officers. Thank God they were understanding and even gave us the option to sleep in the airport.

They rented me a car with a tire with an air leak. I had to nervously watch the psi decrease to under 20 as I drove from ******* to ***********, my first drive with the car. Now they are trying to charge me &80 for the repair. Unbelievable. I deserve an apology for having to drive in unsafe conditions and at least a credit for the time lost on my trip I will now have to be dealing with them an s correcting this issue.

Arrived to ******************* where we had a reservation with thrifty. Our flight was delayed and then stood in a line for nearly 2 hours at customs, causing us to be 2.5 hours late to the reservation counter. First, they tried to tell us that they only had manual transmission though I clearly made a reservation for automatic only. I refused and then he said since I was 2.5 hours late, they no longer had my car and tried to up charge me for a different car. I said absolutely not and asked to speak with the manager, at which point he gave me the car. Then we had to wait additional 45 minutes just for them to bring the car. Extremely rude. Terrible business.

One Star Too Many!Absolutely Horrible Experience.Waited in line for close to an hour at 7pm. Finally get to the Thrifty booth and tell the person there that I have car insurance already, and that I will bring the car back with a full tank of gas. Nothing more. I sign the form and leave. Unfortunately I should have read the form closely , as she tacked on daily insurance to the tune of $258, against my request. The car was only $326 for the week, so now its over $500 with the added charges,We called the next day and was told that we needed to go to the Thrifty booth when we go back home. There was no way this was possible as the airport and lines were ridiculously crowded. NEVER will I ever book from Thrifty again. I feel that I was deceived, and please beware of this issue IF you book with this company.

I rented a car for $56.15 per day (Luxury). After all the hidden fees like "Concession Fee Recovery" at 11.11% A "Cust Fac Chg" of $15. "Vehicle License Cost Recovery" at $1.50 and tax of 17.25% it came out to be $79.66 per day! I thought the airliners got in trouble back in the day for doing this crap. Then to top it off, they gave me a Toyota 4Runner in Salt Lake City to go visit Park City after they got 4 feet of snow. Found out the hard way that Toyota makes a 2 wheel drive model. WTF! I didn't even know Toyota even made a 2wheel drive Toyota 4Runner. They should call it a Toyota 2runner! I hope this review helps. Don't rent from Thrifty!

I reserved a car rental at West Palm Beach airport when I was traveling to Florida. When I arrived at the Thrifty car rental I was told that I have to wait 2 hours for the car. That was absurd as I had reservations to attend to and could not wait 2 hours. I had to spend $90 on a cab to get to my destination. Horrible Service.

Very unprofessional we ( family of 7 with enfants and young kids waited in Orlando Airport for 4 hours to get a vehicle I reserved in November 2022 l. after a 3hr flight from Toronto on January 14 2023 we arrived at 11Pm . I was shocked at the Thrifty counter line up and people screaming and waiting in long lines. Thrifty did not tell people or cancel the reservation knowing about this issue for weeks. At the counter they tell you you can cancel and go some where else ..nothing we can do. The people working at the counter told us the company knew about this and the horrible situation they put people in and they decided not to listen. They ruined our Disney vacation..kids are tired and we're sleeping in the airport floor
