      This business should not be allowed to lie to their customers regarding their service/availability. I made a reservation via a third party called ******. Everything was paid on line including, car rental and the insurance. Dates 1/9/2023 through 1/12/2023. Pick up time was supposed to be at 6pm. Destination pick up: **********. I took a shuttle bus from the airport to their location. When I arrived a worker stated there would be a 2 hour wait. When I got to a service desk person and filled out more paperwork the customer service rep stated it may take less than the 2 hour wait as previously stated. I didnt mind waiting but when the waiting when over 3 hours, I went to check what the problem was. There was another person at the service desk she now said it would take another 3-4 hours (this would be a total of 7 hours now) and they could not promise they would have a car at that time and she suggested we come back the next day after 7am. That would be over a 24 hour wait to pick up a car I reserved for pick up at 6pm not at 7pm the next day. I ended up leaving to my hotel and barely sleeping due to this. Later I found out they had no available cars at their lot but for the entire day. I received no refund, no apologies nothing. No business should be allowed to do this to their customers.

      One more thing worth mentioning is the fact that there are hidden fees for example: dont assume when purchasing insurance the liability will be included. It is not, yet it will be a surprise because it is not listed on their online requirements/paperwork.

      Worst car rental place ever been waiting for almost 2 days for a rental because they sent ** home. They said they have no cars but still taking people like they do. And Ive been in this airport for almost 4 hours

      Recently at ORD, I arrived at the rental desk to be told there were no cars of the type on my reservation and the next car up would be an additional $22/day. The desk agent treated me very rudely. I was also told they were so short on cars, they didn't know when or if they'd have a car for me at all. I called the customer service line and they said that same car could be provided at a total of $5 for the whole reservation. By that time, the car was gone and there was nothing at all available. I went to **** where the rep was amazing and provided a compact SUV for the compact/economy price.

      BE CAREFUL TO CHECK THE INVOICE BEFORE YOU SIGN & LEAVE WITH THE LOT WITH THE RENTAL CAR. CHECK GAS! Easy shuttle with nice drivers. No line at the time we got there and easy to return cars. We were allowed to select a car based on the type (full size) that we wanted. Here's the issues. I am 54 and have rented cars since I was 25 both in the US and internationally. I am a frequent traveler so I can't even take a good guess how often I have rented cars and NEVER have I paid for the extras - including waiver insurance. I was mislead by the representative who snuck it in. I did not realize it until the car was returned. Cost me an additional $247 for the week rental. Also, the toll charge for use on route from and to the airport with additional service fees cost almost $50. We also paid for a full tank of gas, and as we were down the road, realized the tank was only 3/4 filled. Dishonest and not worth the slightly lower up front cost. When I was contacted via email to do the survey, I conveyed all of this information. They were so very concerned with customer satisfaction, that the only reply they gave was a somewhat automated response from a person in another country who assured me that they hoped next time Thrifty will live up to its high standards. I'll never know as I'm not coming back.

      This company is a scam, as you can see from many of the other reviews as well. I purchased a rental of $200+ through Priceline and was then charged over FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS in unauthorized charges from thrifty- all I had agreed to was a charge for gas, which I was told was $55. I have called countless times and they never allow you to speak to a supervisor. This $200 rental turned into a 700 rental for a basic car??? I've never experienced an issue with a rental car with another company.

      Spoke to Francisco from 800 number on the same day of the rental on January 11, 2023. I told him what the girl at the counter Kristen F., did which was lying about the extra mandatory insurance. Which in thrifty website tells you it will be included. everything else is optional and credit cards covered just like I told her at the counter. I told her that my credit card cover the rental car and she kept saying that it was mexico law to get that extra insurance which is not. I call the eight hundred 021227 number where Francisco answer the call and short enough he drop the call, I kept calling right after that call, and I guess they notated the account because they kept disconnecting my call. Do not rent from this company in Cancun airport. I have for many years use thrifty in Europe, South America, Dominican Republic and USA and never had this problem, I really believe the girl, a friend here in Mexico say that was a lie, I went online and search and they lie to make double the amount of the car rental. Thrifty in Cancun Mexico are not honest people, rent from another company. It doesn’t even deserve one star

      They lied about the cost of the fuel purchase option, made the couple in front of me pay for each passenger that would be riding in the car (not driving), said I had to use their insurance, and double charged me for tolls.

      If I could rate this 0 stars I would. The black Malibu I rented cost me over 2k for ten days. Yes I am under 25 however Ive rented cars before I have never caused damage. The car they gave me smelled horrible and the tires were bald. The employees that worked in the ****** area are lazy and rude. The wait to get a car was over two hours long. I would absolutely never rent from this business again. I was lucky to get a representative on the phone and he told me that I could exchange the car but I get absolutely 0 refund. This company is all about taking your money.

      Charged me $335.00 for insurance I did not authorize, which happened to be the same amount as the rental which is why I was not aware of the charges till I returned home. Called Thrifty 3 times to try and resolve the problem, nobody knew anything, they said they had a signed contract showing I authorized all the charges, I told them to e-mail me a copy which I have never received.The only thing I signed was a basic rental agreement on a keypad.They refuse to return my money, so the car rental ( that I drove 135mi. And returned with a full tank of gas @ $14.56) has cost me close to $700.00. These people are deceptive and losers. Their customer service, if you can call it that, are rude uninformed and just plain disrespectful. I am a senior citizen and I cant afford to lose my money to such a **** poor business.

      Thrifty- *****, ** near *** *************************, the manager is very unprofessional. When we made reservations it was noted my husband will be an additional driver; we manually signed the form confirming there was an additional driver. Because the staff did not note it in their system and ***** was working remotely and couldnt access the form to verify; he accused us of purposely withholding this information. He made a scene, quickly charged us $150 penalty penalty fee and threatened to call security on me when I asked for his name and his managers name to file a complaint. He wouldnt fulfill my extended reservation I had place due my flight cancellation, traveling with a family of 6. Hes the worst and SHOULD NOT be managing anything/representing the company. He clearly was upset they were short staffed and we were his outlet. The worst experience and customer service ever!! Beware!General Manager, ****** responded via email(no call back) in support of Devons behavior and associate, ******** as well who checked us in. Tried to CYA and admitted we signed the form for an additional driver and he didnt explain there was an additional fee, but we didnt actual tell him so the penalty fee is valid! Dont go to this locationbypass. Enterprise at GSP doesnt have the same stipulations for additional drivers, no additional fee if its your SPOUSE and the staff are friendly, respectful, and VERY informative unlike Thrifty.
