After not being able to return my rental car on time due to hurricane ************** am being charged for two extra days and a late fee. This is senior abuse as I am over 71 and cant drive at night. The Orlando international airport closed and my flight was canceled. I was in Sebastian Florida and the eye of the storm went over at 3:03 am Thursday. My return time was 12:30 PM on Thursday. I called and reported that I was unable to return the car due to the bad weather conditions from the hurricane. I told them that my flight had been rescheduled for Saturday and that I would have the car back before 12:30. I was told that was ok and that there would be no additional charges. ( A lie ) when I returned the car before 12:30 PM I was charge for Two extra days and a late fee. I was however able to get credit for one day as they said I had only 24 hours after the airport reopened. The airport fully reopened on Friday which in my mine gave me my 24 hours needed to return the car, so the bottom line is I was charged an additional $44 plus $20 late fee. They should be ashamed. I believe I am owed a refund. At the very least I will make sure that everyone I know will never use Thrifty again costing them much more than that $60.

Thrifty charged me for fuel when car was filled at a gas station 2 miles away. Always an issue when I rent from them. Horrible customer service. Rent from another car company

I was charged $38.69 for fuel after the return of my rental car when I refueled and returned the car with a full tank. After multiple phone calls I received an email stating the local office confirmed it was for fuel and unfortunately no refund would be given. I guess its my word against theirs, but I refueled as instructed and will never use or recommend this company again.

I rented a car from Thrifty 10/17/22 and told the rental rep that i was going to put gas in the car when i returned it.The hotel we stayed at was a 10 minute walk to Universal Studios, so we did use the car much.I filled the car up with gas 10/21/22 and did not use the car on 10/21/22 stayed at the park all day.returned the car 6:00 am on 10/22/22.got home and the receipt was in my email. They charged me a $46.13 fuel and services fee. There is no way that they could have put gas in that car.I have been trying to contact them but no one answers the phone.Do not use Thrifty they will rip you off and the car was in was dirty inside and out.I will never use Thrifty Car Rental again!!!!!!!!!!!!

I booked my reservation for a rental car to drive my octogenarian parents from a visit at my brother’s home in Massachusetts to their home in Virginia. There must have been a mistake in the reservation, or a mistake made when I checked in - but I had a detailed conversation with the woman who checked me in about the fact I had to travel down the coast and therefore what to do about the EZ-Pass rental. I signed a blank signature screen to accept my rental agreement and went on my way to get my parents. When I arrived in Virginia I realized Thrifty expected me to return the car to Boston. I called Headquarters to make arrangements to drop the car in Virginia. Not only did the customer service representative not know of any return locations in Virginia, his recommendation was that I have the car towed back to Boston. When I identified a location to which I could return the car, he let me know that Thrifty would add over $1000 more to my contract. I attempted to dispute the charges via American Express - AmEx found that I should not have to pay the extra $1000 and refunded the money. Thrifty billed me again, outside of the AmEx process. They do not care about their customers. I will never use them again and will find any and all platforms that I can to let people know about their methods. Buyer, beware.

I rented a car from Thrifty at Phoenix Airport. After 1 1/2 hour wait I finally received my car. This was frustrating to begin with since no other car rental facility had lines like this. But the reason for my review, is at check out, the sales person told me they would fill my tank upon my return for $4.50 a gallon (about $1.00 less than local gas stations) so I agreed. Sounded like it made sense. But then I noticed I was charged for a full tank of gas immediately. I know I am only going to use a few gallons, so I tried to contact thrifty, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to contact a person that can help. All automated phone lines or people that say they can’t help. No direct line to location I rented. I was scammed out of around $60. I want my money back.

Thrifty charged us $79.60 for $19.60 worth of tolls in Denver. We were never offered the package they sell to cover tolls in a costly manner, but they tried to sell us the insurance package. This to me is deceptive business practices. They know how to cash in on the customer by charging $15 per toll charge, upto $60 per rental. Thrifty obviously makes more money by not telling the consumer about this offer. This disclosure is so far down in the contract that it almost appears they are trying to hide it. I will never rent a car from Thrifty again, ever!

Upon arrival to pick up car..It was to late to call to add car to our auto policy from home. So we added insurance from thrifty NOT KNOWING we were NOT going to get the rate expedia offered. This is A TYPE OF ENTRAPMENT! If I HAD KNOWN Thrifty is a crooked hand I would have told the lady *** and clicked the link I received in my email about car protection and paid the rate quoted by expedia. THRIFTY who truly are thrifty at taking peoples money did not bother telling me how much insurance rate was before billing me.. and I ASSUMED I'd get expedia rate cuz I booked through them and assumptions always make *%$holes. This is a big huge trap for people to walk into...Not only did we endure this OVERCHARGE after finding out, we had to wait In line for almost an hour b4 getting a car cuz thrifty has no system in place to get customers taken care of in timely manner cuz their too busy s******* consumers out of their money. While making false claims that they give you the best rates to help save you money. Lmao!!

Thos company is a scam. They quote you something and add multiple charges at the end. They charge me $9.99 per galon for gas and the gas was $2.90 at the moment.

SCAM ALERT! PHX location of Thrifty. They will tell you that secondary insurance is required by the state of AZ. That is a LIE. Once I found out the truth they would not reimburse me. Read the other reviews. It's disgraceful and they should lose their operating license. The national office should care enough about their reputation to shut this branch down. You might choose this place because it's cheaper than the others but after they scam you you'll end up paying more. Just don't.
