We live in ************, **. I assumed this company was in ************. FHIA had called and talked with my husband. They came out and had ** sign a contract on 1 19 **** for storm windows and door replacement on our house. They measured all windows and said it would be 3 months before any work would be done. The cost was $36,288 which is a lot. I was told they would get in touch with our HOA to get an ok. Yesterday I called and found that they had no HOA information. I gave it to them again. Today they sent me an email saying I would have to send everything to the **** So I looked them up on BBB website. This company has bad reviews. I called our lawyer. He told me to have no further contact with this company. I looked at the paperwork. It is bad saying if they owe their contractors then the contractors can put a lien on my house. My husband is 85 years old and I just had surgery, so I just assumed they were ok. Today I found out otherwise. Never want to hear from them again. They have done no work.

1 30 24 ************************* came to our house today unexpected and explained further about the contract.  I was concerned in that after we signed when the docs. were sent to our email  it stated in 2 places where a lien could be place on our house either by FHIA or workmen who work under FHIA who can put a lien on our house if they feel they have not gotten paid.  That greatly upset me.  *** did not explain that that was ""normal" part of business with remodeling when we signed docs that did not disclose this when we signed.  This was discovered when docs were sent to our email. *** said no I could not cancel the contract since "everything has been ordered".  *** did sign a statement that all liens were null and void after the work is done and they got paid.  I'm not sure about this company.  *** did give me an address here in ************ that did show good reviews even though the *** office showed problems.  I asked my husband which way to go; go to a lawyer or hopefully get the windows we want. We are going with the contract. I hope the install goes ok and my house is not damaged, and the windows are installed correctly.  Only time will tell.  *** did give me his phone number with one other person to call with concerns. I will at this time neither confirm this has been or not been resolved.  This is a lot of money for major work that I can only hope is done right.  Time will tell.  Let's see what happens with the product and install in the future.  *************************** ************ **

They told me they could measure in December and install by the end of January. They did not even schedule to measure until I called and complained and could not get someone here until the middle of January. Now they wont have my door until March. Im losing my home owners insurance and it is costing thousands. Do not believe anything this company tells you.

In August i scrolled thru ******** looking at window companies attempting to find a reasonable price to replace ours. I filled in a consult request from a BJs club ad. I was contacted by FHIA to schedule a person to come out on behalf of the bjs club to talk about windows. The guy came to my house in august. He was there for 5 hours. He answered all questions we had and everything was good. We were approved for fortify financing. The way he put it was that no payments were due until november of ****, and then wed pay **** at once and then in december it would be part of our mortgage payment at 187 dollars a month. He said that its a lifetime warranty on labor and parts and fully transferrable and that if we move the payment stays with the house and so on. Well we signed up. In november the windows were installed on vertrans day weekend. The install guys were amazing. They were very polite and i liked them. The guy in charge of them called me and said he was going to leave soon to be at my house (this was 10 am) he showed up at 1. *** in his truck for a while and then waltzed into my house without telling me who he was. The guys installing told me who he was but it was still rude. So then after it was completed they cleaned up and left, and then they called to schedule the final inspection. I told the guy i work and so does my husband, and that i am free after 5 on the weekdays, all the weekends, and on 11/28. I was told they cant give me a time frame other than 8 am to 3pm on the 28th. I advised them i had a prior engagement and had to leave by noon on that day so theyd have to come before then. They discon and said theyd work it out. They never called back. I CALLED THE COUNTY MYSELF and told them what was going on and she scheduled it for me. I called the FHIA myself and told them i scheduled the inspection and they could be there in that time frame or not. They were not. So then everything passes. And the last week of december i get a call from **** whos the field officer here in our area that tells me the county is blocking the financing program we got approved for. And he said all companies have the issue not just them. And that the options are to fill out a credit app and see about other financing or to wait out the program and see what happens. I filled out ************** and emailed him the information however he stopped responding to my emails and today i get certified mail saying they put a lien on my house. For something that is not remotely close to my fault. And now i have to worry if my child will have a roof over her head because these people do not do thier jobs. Also i should mention that **** told me in these exact words "no one is going to take your home a lein is just an i-o-u, if you sell your house the lein holder gets thier money first" thats literally what he said to me.

I am writing this letter because I have attempted far too long to get Florida Home Improvement Associates to replace 2 of the 19 Hurricaine windows that we purchased from them several years ago. I have been dealing with sales man ***********************. It has been a continueous fight to get his help, he has made promise after promise to help us. He even came out and took pictures of the defected Windows and admitted that they definitely must be replaced and could understand our frustation! However, again and again I would call him only to be put off with another excuse. He assured us that the Windows were under warranty. We could never sell our condo with Windows like these but more than anything we are sick of failed expensive Windows! It has been almost 10 years! They went to my place last year just to check the windows, the employee saw they needed to replace them and told me that he was gonna order new windows and they never made contact AGAIN!

They installed a roof that supposedly has a warranty. Roof has streaking and blistering. Roof is only 3 years old. Appears as if it is 15+ yrs old. There are bubbles popping up in different places. They charged me for a flat roof when I dont have a flat roof on my property. I cant get any response or any of these issues addressed. I was charged way more than it shouldve been probably because they installed a flat roof that doesnt exist. They say someone will follow up but Im ignored.

VP of Operations and Roofing Manager looked into the claim. Per Roofing Manager "spoke with customer we are giving 3k reimbursement check for flat section. As for the shingles there is a claim on the shingles with the manufacture, we are scheduling to remove a shingle to send to manufacture sometime next week. Customer aware if house leaks, he can call us, and it will get fixed."

I am rejecting this response because:

Attached is the letter Ive sent explaining all my situation related to the company Florida Home Improvements Associates wich made contact with me 48h after I filed my first complaint at the BBB website promising they would make an appt to check my windows whitin 2 weeks and once again they never showed up. They have been leading us along now for years and obviously have absolutely no intention of providing the extremely expensive hurricane proof window. I have been passed from person to person , Before I take any legal providences I would like to hear from the company.
