Florida Home Improvement Associates (FHIA) was contracted to replace my home windows with tinted hurricane impact windows. My account # ********************: *******. July 17, 2022 the contract was signed for $17,000 and a deposit of $3,600 was provided. Windows were ordered and I was assured the technicians installing the work would do so effectively, efficiently, properly and clean up any and all areas affected. On November 3 and 4, 2022 FHIA came to my home address to install windows. The crew on hand installed the wrong windows, did not bring screens, did not caulk them properly, improper installation, didn't speak English, didn't clean up, made a dusty mess everywhere. I called the field super, ***************************, and was advised they would make corrections later. They wanted payment for services and I refused. I have called the office several times with no answer or resolution. At this point the windows need to be properly installed, caulked and insulated; fully functional with working screens and water proof. My home needs to be cleaned from all of the dust any debris left behind as they drilled into the window frames to accomplish this work. Every windowsill, flooring, countertop and furniture is covered in a white layer of dust. This work needs to be done with a competent crew. Thank youBusiness Response
Date: 11/18/2022
I was afforded the opportunity to personally go out and meet ***************** on 11/8 and address all of her concerns. Upon arrival and introductions we addressed the overall condition of the home post installation. There was indeed dust left behind that needed to be cleaned. An appointment was set with a professional cleaning company for 11/10 and cleaning was executed to ********************* satisfaction. We proceeded to do a walk through to inspect each installed window. All windows were installed properly and to code. There was an opening of windows in the front of the home installed that were supposed to have grids in the glass. The glass packs with the grids were ordered for those windows and the glass and sashes will be replaced once received. We then walked the exterior of the home to examine the caulking, all windows were caulked and sealed to the weather. However there were a few openings that will need to be cut in with paint for a better cosmetically finished look. Although stated in our contract we are not responsible for touch up paint i did offer as a courtesy to have the painting done if ***************** could provide me with the correct color code of the paint. In regards to the missing screens I personally delivered and installed them on Sunday 11/13. I assured ******************* was there to work with her and not against her and would personally see this project through to completion to her satisfaction. We have had several conversations since my visit and I will continue to keep open lines of communication until we have completed the project. We do have an ETA on the reordered glass of 12/8. Once that glass is received I will reach out to ***************** to schedule a date to change it out. I am committed to remaining vigilant in my follow through to complete this project to ********************* satisfaction.Initial Complaint

June 2021 FHIA was contracted to remove existing windows and install hurricane rated windows. Windows were installed with damage. Promises by FHIA to deliver and repair broken panes went on for months. Property was damaged at the site as well as debris left behind.. Windows were paid for by credit card. It is now October 2022 and agents/employees **** and **** are requesting via telephone an additional payment of approx. $4300 with threat of revoking warranty. Proof of payment is in hands of the customer.Business Response
Date: 10/25/2022
In response to ***************** complaint here is a timeline of events: ************* and FHIA entered into a legal and binding contract on 6/15/2. A measurement of the windows was then performed an a signed NOC and permit application was obtained. A 20% deposit of $4354.00 was received by FHIA via credit card as stated in the contract. On 11/29 FHIA started the installation of the windows and 6 of the 12 windows were installed. On 11/30 the remaining 6 windows were installed. After the installation was completed ************** made another credit card payment of $8709.00 which was processed on 11/30. This left a balance of $4354.00. The job passed inspection on 12/10. A service was scheduled for 12/29 at 9:00am to remove the stickers and ad the cosmetic trim caps to cover the s**** holes. The customer rescheduled that service for 1/19/22 at 9:00am and that service was completed. During our installation it was discovered that 2 pieces of defective or damaged glass would need to be replaced. Those service parts were ordered and replaced on 6/21 and completed this job in full. Since completion we have been reaching out to ************** to collect the remaining balance owed. Each time ************** has been reached by myself **** or by his field manager **** he adamantly denies he owes FHIA any more monies and states he has proof of full payment. We have requested such proof but he refuses to provide it to us. I personally spoke with ************** regarding the balance on 10/24. ****************** tone for the conversation was angry , defensive and full of profanities. I tried to have an amicable conversation but to no avail. He yelled profanities at me and hung up on me. He did call back and stated we were trying to scam him and he would filing major complaints against our company. We are simply trying to collect a balance owed on a contractually completed agreement. I did attach a copy of the contract and am willing to provide any other info that *** help resolve. thank you *************************- Operations ManagerCustomer Answer

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:They are making telephonic demands for more money after the work has been paid in full. Initial complaint was filed with BBB yesterday with case number being ********. A meeting this morning with bank personnel and a review of all relevant documents support the customer claim that ******************** was paid for their work and product in full as contracted. FHIA threats to revoke their warranty for installed product has no merit with no foundation in truth. All evidence of their actions however, support they are attempting a "shakedown", scam to extort money from an elderly customer.
Sincerely,

My husband was pressured into purchasing a roof that should have been replaced under insurance. My husband is a visually impaired veteran. He informed the salesperson that he was going through a refinance and asked if the YGREENE financing would affect it and was told no. He was never verbally informed that this would place a lien on his house. The roof also seems to be missing the proper caps on the vent pipes.Business Response

We had hurricane impact windows installed in April, 2022. After installation, there were two repairs noted and we were told our screens would be installed after the repairs and inspection. This was fine with us. However once repairs were made not all of screens were installed. The installers were not sure why they were not given all of the screens as only the smaller window screens were installed that day. This was in August, 2022. Since this time, we have called FHIA, and our salesman, numerous times about where our large screens were and when they would be installed. My husband even offered to pick them up himself and install them to alleviate the service of the installers. We have never received a call back and continue to have to call. We went 11 days without power and were unable to open our four large windows due to the missing screens. We are very frustrated at the lack of communication and the location of our missing screens.Business Response
