I went to Dental One approximately six weeks ago complaining of my tooth hurting and swelling. They recommended after x-rays I need my tooth extracted. At that time I agreed and they made me a flipper because I told them I didnt want extracted without a partial. They scheduled me the next day to see the oral surgeon. He was under impression I was going to have him do the tooth implant. I told him I have an oral surgeon who did multiple tooth implants in the past and will go to him. Only want him to do the extraction. The oral surgeon said I can get the tooth extracted there and can pick up partial in 3 weeks. I ordered the partial there because I thought I was having extraction there. When I went to my oral surgeon he didnt want to use the partial made. He didnt use this at his practice. I had to pay $800.00. I already paid $1000 at Dental One on 4/22/25 for a partial. My surgeon said to call to get reimbursed minus lab cost. I called Dental One who was untruthful by changing the facts by saying I didnt want my tooth extracted there. Why would I have a partial made there to have it installed at another oral surgeon?Makes no sense! I had multiple tooth implants and the oral surgeon will fit you for the partial. I feel I should be reimbursed since they didnt honor their fulfillment by denying me having extraction there because I didnt want tooth implant there. They even called my oral surgeon office and I was told the person called from Dental One was more concerned why I was going there. This is my decision to make! I deserve my money back! Please help.Initial Complaint

I went to the dental office for a periodontal visit which I told was covered with my Delta dental plan. They took additional X-rays even though I had mine sent over from a previous office which they also told me we're covered. I got a quick exam told I needed to have wisdom teeth extracted, sent to a another dentist for that. But now I get a bill in the mail for $350 because nothing was covered under my insurance. They did not do predeterminations, they told me these services were covered and then they just bill you, surprise! This is not right this is not the way things are supposed to be done. They should have done predeterminations told me exactly what I had to pay not surprised me with a big Bill.Initial Complaint

I live solely on disability income so when I called this office for a consultation, I asked if there was a free consult. I would not have scheduled an appointment if there was to be a charge. I was seen by a dentist for five minutes (or less) who said he was unable to help my situation and left. I was asked to wait in that room while the tech (?) finished entering information into the computer. She called a second ****** in to assist her and I stated that I was told it was a free consult. I was told, "It should be.....I don't know." I go to the receptionist to check out and was charged $122.00 for the visit. I explained again that it was supposed to be a free consult and she simply shook her head no. I didn't feel comfortable arguing due to the number of people in the waiting room within listening distance. (You check out at the same window you check in at- inside the waiting room area.)I am adamant that I would NOT have gone for the consult had there been a charge. I specifically asked if a free consult was available and I was told yes.I have sent an email to which there was no reply and also left a review/comment on the website regarding this and still no reply. I feel as though I have been swindled since there has been no response to my attempts to contact them.Business Response

The beginning of 2025, I began seeing Dr. ***** at Dental One (In years prior I had been a client of another doctor at Dental One, however, *they left the practice before 2025). So, I began seeing Dr. ***** to get a bottom plate of dentures. Dr. ***** referred me to an oral surgeon for work, first. Upon that work completion, I returned to Dr. ***** re dentures. A mold was taken of my lower mouth. It was sent off to get teeth impression. The dentures came back but didn't fit properly. At the next visit, the dentures STILL didn't fit properly. They were filed down & inserted into my mouth. I took them home tried to wear them but got sores in my mouth. I Took the dentures back for adjustment. They took pics of sores in my mouth (due to dentures). They never fit properly. On May 9, 2025, I went to see abt my dentures. I went through the arrival process, stated why I was there. There was a ************ w/the receptionist & other staff member. I was eventually told by the receptionist that the doctor couldn't see me unless I paid a bill from 2023 of $66. I have been seeing Dr. ***** since early 2025, why was I never told abt owing a bill from my previous doctor? I was embarrassed because I was told this in front of another customer vs discreetly. From the beginning I provided my insurance card w/o problems. I want to be reimbursed for the insurance payments Dental One has already collected. And, they never got my dentures to fit properly & I do not have them. If I allegedly owed the practice $66 dollars why wasn't I told this or shown records proving it to be? I wish to be reimbursed for my time as well.Business Response

I had a dental cleaning appointment with Premier Dental Associates (PDA) on 11-20-2024. I mentioned to the office (Account # ********** before making the appointment and to the hygienist during the appointment, that I had already had * rays so my insurance would not pay for them, and so I did not want to have * rays done. During the appt I was told that every new patient needs to have * rays taken, so I told them that I would not be getting the cleaning if that was the case and I would leave. They hygienist (******* ******) said she would check with the office to see if they could absorb the cost of the * rays - which she did and said that the office would absorb this cost and I would not be charged, so I proceeded with the cleaning. On March 8th I received a statement for * ray charges. I tried calling the office and was put on hold indefinitely several times. I sent several emails to the office (3-8-25, 3-24-25) and I finally received a response and after some discussion, on email from PDA on 3-24-25 I was told by office manager Ambieka *********** that "Okay, I will remove this balance and honor what was told to you. You should not receive any other statements.". Not only did I receive further statements, but I received late payment notices and email from collection agency.Business Response

The business must contact the collection agency and communicate that no money is owed so I stop receiving these messages immediately, in order to close the complaint.

********************************************************** closed the business. Clients were instructed via April 10, ********************************************** **************** to retrieve dental records, where they will be "securely transferred", in order to provide to a new pediatric dentist. Upon multiple attempts to retrieve my son's records and having direct communication with the office manager, *******, we are being told that they do not have access to the records and was advised to drive to the old location because even though they are not answering the phones, you "might get lucky" and find someone there. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. While the dental records were finally sent (after multiple calls to the organization and written complaints to regulatory bodies and BBB) a significant amount of time was invested in doing so. I find it concerning that a consumer needs to go through these measures for something seemingly so simple and routine, especially considering the fact that we were specifically guided, in writing, to contact this entity and told that the records will be safely and securely transferred. This case may be closed, but I will certainly not be doing business with this organization.

On November 30, 2024, I received a billing statement stating I owed $233. After contacting both of dental insurance providers and billing office, it was confirmed the correct balance was only $6. Billing office acknowledged the error and made correction. However, before most recent dental appointment05012025, I received an email stating I now owed $239an amount appeared to include previously disputed and revoked charges. When I arrived for appointment, front desk staff refused to let me see dentist, claiming I was on a collections list and had to pay in full before being seen. I asked them to double-check billing, but they initially refused. After I insisted, they reviewed account and admitted it was a mistake. There was no apology for the confusion or for denying care due to their own error. They then told me the issue may have occurred because I had two dental insurances on filemine and my wifes. While I had previously authorized both, I informed the office her dental insurance was terminated and should have been removed from her records. This raises concerns about how patient insurance information is managed and whether claims were submitted inappropriately after that coverage ended. What concerns me most is they insisted I must have two insurances on file in order to receive services, which is not a requirement under any plan Im aware of.I also discovered charges on billing statement for dates I did not have appointments. These were later revoked, the fact they appeared at all is troubling. After paying correct $6 balance, I have not received confirmation I was removed from collections list or account was fully ************ requests:A complete and accurate correction of my billing records.Written confirmation I am no longer listed in collections.Confirmation only my current, valid insurance is on file.Assurance I do not need two insurances on file to receive services.A full explanation of how erroneous charges for nonexistent appointments occurred.Business Response
