I put my membership up for sale in 2023 and paid the one time sales fee, later in checking back progress was suggested I lower my price. I did this on two separate occasions. I received a proposal which would give me back $1000.00 and I agreed! On March 12, 2025 I emailed back in the signed transfer papers and received verification that hey had them. The first part of April I got notice that my membership transfer was complete on 3/20/2025. I have called and emailed numerous times. On April 21, 2025 I was told they hand the funds and I should get e check within the next couple of weeks. Since then I have not received the check or had any of my calls or emails answered!Initial Complaint

I have been waiting for this company to mail me a check since April 17 2025, in the amount of $1500 The buyer for my membership has already gotten the membership on that date. On April 17. 2025 I got a letter from Thousand Trails stating that the membership transfer was completed and I sent an email to *** asking for my payment status. After many emails and phone calls, I was finally informed that my payment was sent out on May 21st 2025. That was 16 days ago. No tracking informaton was sent to me and they sent it via regular mail...supposedly. I emailed them again and told them it must have been lost and to send it again, this time with a tracking. No responce what so ever...again. This is most unfortunate. I bought my membership 9 years ago through them and they use to be a business worth utilizing. I would like for them to respond to my last emails and send me my payment with tracking this time, no more nonsense avoiding my emails and get this transaction resolved.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I requested a responce to my multiple emails and also requested a tracking number and that the check be mailed to my current addtres (which is included in the email).. All of these requestes were ignored and nothing has ben solved at this point. Where was this 2nd check mailed? Is there a tracking number? If you canot communicate professionally, why should anyone trust what you say or do business with your company?

We sold our Thousand Trails camping membership through Campground Membership Outlet, as recommended by Thousand Trails. The membership was sold for $2100 on 2.11.25. We contacted the selling company several times (calls, emails, messages on website) as we have not received payment. The last contact we had from ******* ******* at the company was on 4.10.25 and they stated we would receive payment in 7-10 business days. Now you cannot reach them by phone, they won't respond to email or messages on their website, and they will not even respond to Thousand Trails.Business Response

I have been waiting for this company to mail me a check since the week of April 21, 2025 in the amount of $3000.00 The buyer for my membership has already gotten the membership. On March 27 2025 letter from Thousand Trails received stating membership transfer completed and I sent an email was sent asking my payment status. On April 10th again I sent an email asking status update, then followed up with a phone call in which I was told payment was authorized and check to be mailed out week of April 21st at which time my mailing address was confirmed. May 6th another follow up email and phone call asking where my money is. Since April 10th this company has gone dark with No response and at this point I will be looking to take legal action to get my missing $3000.00 if I do not get a tracking number, receive the check and then it Clears. This is complete and utter disregard for people, their assets and gross mismanagement and representation of a credible business.Business Response

On 2/23/24, my husband and I (****** and ***** *******) paid Campground Membership Outlet (CMO) $275.00 to find a buyer for our Thousand Trails Campground Membership. In June 2024, *** indicated they found a buyer and we could expect to receive $7100 free and clear once the membership was transferred thereafter. We continued to pay what we owed on the loan amount from Thousand Trails, who handled the financing, as we did not hear anything else from *** until March 2025. However, the membership continued to be in our name and owned by us from June 2024-March 2025. In March 2025, *** requested that we sign additional documents so the membership could be transferred and they stated again we would receive $7100 two weeks from the date of the transfer of the membership. We asked for an accounting of the sale, which they did not provide. Since we continued to make payments on the loan, it doesnt quite make sense why would get the same amount nearly nine months later but we would accept $7100 at this point. The loan was officially transferred on about 3/17/25. We sent several follow-up e-mails confirming this with CMO and they have stopped responding. We have seen others on-line have had to file complaints with the BBB and the ************************* office in order to get moneys owed to them by ***.Business Response

I have been waiting for this company to mail me a check through **** Priority Mail With Tracking for over a week, The amount of $7,375.00 The buyer for my membership has already gotten the membership and has already paid this company. I have been in contact with two emails, ******************************************************** Who hasnt answered since 4/9/25 and ****************************************************** Who hasnt answered since 4/22/25 and has not given me even a timeline on when i will get the check mailed out. I need the money and its unfair to take the buyers money and not give me the money they owe or even communicate with me if there is some kind of delay. As the email ive attached shows, the membership transfer was completed on 4/18/25 and the Buyer got the membership as of 4/21/25 As of right now i am the only party involved who has not gotten what is owed.I have a baby on the way and need this money to pay for medical bills and other needs. I hired this company to sell my Thousand Trails Adventure Membership to the company. They provided paperwork to transfer the membership to them for $6,500. We received notification from Thousand Trails the transfer was complete in November 2025. The company confirmed that the membership transfer was complete and Campground Membership outlet confirmed the transfer was complete and would send a check in 2 weeks. I paid the $325 fee and listed my Thousand Trails membership with Campground Membership Outlet on 12/20/2024. The agent listing my membership stated they would have no problem selling it hastily and it would likely be sold at their next RV show in January. After two months of no correspondence, I was curious if there was any traction on our listing and called the agent. I received no return phone call. I sent an email to the agent about a week later to remind her of the message I left and asked about our certain parts of our listing and to reach out to me. No reply again. Two days later, I messaged the website directly asking for someone to contact me since I had no communication with my agent. The agent emailed me later that day, asking for my membership number. I replied within 20 minutes, providing my number for them to search. I still have not received a reply from the message I sent in February. No phone call or follow up to my concerns, questions or inquiries. I understand that selling a listing can take time, but the lack of communication and customer service is appalling. I paid for a service and have not received anything for it. For all I know, my membership could have sold and I am like many of the other complaints here that say they were never issued a check. This business is sales and customer relations; I'd like to think my fee entitles me to receive both.Business Response

On November 8, 2024, we entered a Seller's Agreement with Campground Membership Outlet (CMO) "for the purpose of placing (our) campground/resort membership in (CMO's) file for consideration by buyers that may make an offer to purchase." For this, we paid "a one-time, non-refundable administration charge of $325.00."Since that time, we have had to pursue CMO's (apparently only) agent, ******* *******, repeatedly to inquire about progress in execution of agreed upon services. On those few occasions where a response was received from her, we have received empty promises and requests for reduction in selling price (which were granted). After three months, no sale has been accomplished.We stand ready to provide the the Better Business Bureau with documentation of contract, emails, texts and notes from phone calls.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: a) source who wrote our original Thousand Trails membership agreement and has direct knowledge of ************ strategies calls BS on assertions regarding the competitive viability of our offering in the current marketplace; b) we agreed to reduce ask by $2,000 and again by another $2,000 at the suggestion of CMO; and c) CMO response on the BBB platform is boilerplate (cut and paste), and has been used for many other complaints filed against it. This is easy to verify - just look at social media.
