Moved into a residence that already had solar panels. I was told whom to contact if I needed to reach out or experienced any problems. I started noticing higher than normal electric bills specifically around September 2022. I immediately called the electric company and they thought it was a simple clerical error. The next Mo th the bill was ****** more without us using any heat or cooling in our home. It was at that time I noticed that we had only produced 87 kWh and then the next month we produced zero. I called the company and asked them to come out and check it. They gave me the run around for nearly two weeks. They are refusing to give out any manager names or extensions or even escalate my call. Meanwhile I am still making panel payments and my regular electric bill wirh no help from my solar panels. Now they said theyll make a deal with me and charge me 400 just to have someone come out. They wont even tell me what is on the contract with a guarantee for the panels service calls or anything. They also told me that by looking at my electric bill evertyhing is in working order. They are refusing to help and told me to stop calling them and hung up on meBusiness Response

Our solar panels were installed in June of 2022. We were told it would take 3 months for the permitting process. After repeated calls, we did not receive the permit until a couple of weeks after hurricane ***. Immediately following the hurricane, we phoned to let the company know that we believe one or more of the panels may have been damaged during the storm. We were told that they were not responding to any "solar panel" issues as they were "too busy" taking care of roofing customers. We have continued to call to find out when they might be by to look at the panels so we can then request the testing so we can then get the meter from FPL so that we can finally get on line with the solar panels and receive the service that they have been paid for. Now we are being told that they can't "test" the system until we are on-line. How are you supposed to test the system if you have to be on line to test it when we have repeatedly shared that the system is not on line to test and we need someone to come and check the panels. They are absolutely refusing to help. At the end of the day, we are paying for a product that does not sound like it will ever be rectified and our repeated calls to the company have all been in vane. It appears that once you sign up and they first put the panels on the roof (not connected yet, just on the roof) they could care less whether you will ever be connected or not. I can understand if they were to say that they would schedule someone to come out to look at it, but they keep telling us that they have to test it on-line first. You can't do that if were not on-line and we can't get on-line until someone looks at it. We are at a total loss of what we are to do. Additionally, no one at the company appears to be willing to help. I'm ready to call the ************************** We certainly hope that you may be able to help "grease the wheels" that appear to be at a standstill. We are completely frustrated.Business Response

Sunergy came out and we signed the contract on 7/9/22. The contract gives three days to back out. On August 13th the panels arrived and were installed shortly after. Then it failed the inspection. It was probably about a month when I called to see what was happening because no one came out to fix the panels so we can move forward. After that call they sent someone out and then it was reinspected and luckily passed. The meter was then installed, and we finally had permission to operate on 11/9/22 and have yet to see any indication of the Solars working I had to call to inform them about it and they are 'working on it'. which it's been 5 months since the contract was signed and 4 months since they were installed. In addition to the above (solar panels are notworking properly) we need to uninstall and reinstall them (for $5,060) because we had roof damage from the hurricane. We have to pay to get them removed and to install them even though they are not working properly! it doesn't make sense. In addition we have had to make two payments towards our loan for the solar panels that arent working yet. They did reimburse us but we had to wait for a paper check and getting solar panels is supposed to help have a consistent payment amount.Business Response

Sunergy Solar has refused to remove the defective solar panels they installed upon my roof. I originally purchased these panels and paid $37,000 to this company back in March of 2022. The solar panels stopped working in early August , which resulted in me having to continue my payments and revert back to FPL and also pay them for my electric services. 4 separate techs were dispatch to my home and no one has been able to fix the broken panels. The salesman who sold me these useless panels ignored my calls for weeks, before finally contacting me once I stopped payment on my automatic withdrawals. I have spoken to everyone at this company and no one seems willing to help. The rep ******************************* just keeps giving me the run around or ignoring my messages, and refuses to remove the panels and refund my money. I have roof work that needs to be done and Sunergy has been notified that the roof work can not be done with these panels secured to my roof. They have refused to send anyone out to remove them. I feel like this whole thing was a scam from the get go and that this company is a bunch of crooks. The last technician who came out to work on the panels, advised me and I quote " those panels are dead" and even went as far as to say that he talked his own family members out of buying solar panels from his own company due to these types of issues. I will be contacting a lawyer to take legal action against them as I would like a full refund and removal of these dead panels ASAP.Business Response

The contract with Sunergy Solar was signed on 08/01/2022 to install solar panels on my home (**** Indigo *****************). The service cost $32,242.00, which was financed the same day, 08/01/2022. My husband reached out to Sunergy Solar on 09/07/2022 to notify them the installation plan was of the wrong house. Sunergy Solar did not respond and proceeded to install the solar panels on or around 09/13/2022. One of the installers also confirmed the wrong house was on the installation plan and another inspection must be completed. My husband and I had made multiple attempts to resolve the missing inspection, refuse to pay the early termination fee to change electricity providers, and most recently on 11/19/2022 there was a roof leak that was more than likely caused by the poor installation of the solar panels. Sunergy Solar does rarely answers their calls or emails. To resolve this issue, I request for Sunergy Solar to cover the damages to my roof and interior wall and ceiling. I am also requesting reimbursement of the early termination fee of $317.Business Response

We signed up with the company to get Solar panels installed. We were told this would replace our electric bill. We were not told there was a connection fee. That is an additional $9k in the span of 30 years. We were also told that the system would be installed within a couple of months and we would have a couple months of no payments on the loan. I have been calling the company for 2 months it takes 2-3 weeks of anyone to call back (management). I am now paying both the electric bill and the loan.Business Response

I want to apologize about the delay, I have reviewed your complaint. The connection fee is something that is set by the utility company because while you do have solar you are still connected to the grid. Because you are still connected to the grid there will always be that connection fee. I want to let you know that I am working on solution and will reach out and review it with you. Company installed solar panel system to my new home. The initial installation resulted in a roof leak noticed in the first 2 months following installation date. The company attempted a repair, but did not solve the leak issue permanently. Rather, their efforts slowed the leak so it took longer for me to visibly notice the leak from within my home (via wet ceiling/drywall). Leak resulted in rotted roofing wood and positive mold tests on several wood planks, drywall and insulation spots.Attempts to reconcile these damages with Sunergy have resulted in poor repair attempts. They have:1. Been extremely insufficient at planning work and communicating expectations with me, to the point of sporadically arriving at my home with no scheduling/prior notice.2. Replaced only some of the rotted wood and used lower quality wood than was there before.3. Left wet trash from repair efforts sitting on top of my ceiling (in the attic)., which is causing the spot on my ceiling to expand, still wet).4. Negates to inform me if they are going to replace the damaged/ruined components of my home caused by the roof leak (replacement of insulation, ceiling/dry wall.Business Response

I came to file a complaint and am now horrified to see that this company has that this many complaints and all of them being so recent. I signed my contract on 8/12 after actively seeking a company for solar installation for several months. On 8/14 (within 3day period) I tried to cancel & my sweet sales person turned into a real jerk. I wanted solar so I kept going as he said he would oversee to ensure I was pleased. Installers were contracted, changed layout of panels without speaking with me. They also left my system on without advising me. I turned it off as I dont think I should be supplying my neighbors. Multiple attempts to reach company. Successful on most recent but no attempt at resolution on any of my issues. State assessment seemingly happened and panels were turned back on. NOTHING since then & portal still shows me on phase 2 (assessment). Payment due on 11/02 & since I am locked into contract I was told that I would have to pay then show proof of payment to be reimbursed my money FOR A SERVICE I DONT HAVE in addition to paying FPL my usual monthly fee. I was told that this would be process/my problem monthly unless work is completed. I am beyond disgusted by this company & the lack of knowledge or professionalism being displayed and wish there was a way to remove panels & terminate contract at this point. So much can be said about the multitude of issues I have had with this company. This is a rip-off & even the manner in which they respond to inquiries and complaints leaves much to be desired.Business Response
