I called sunergy a couple months ago and advise them that my solar panels were not working. They told me before somebody could come out to see what was going on I would have to pay $350. After saving up the money and finally getting somebody to come out there I was advised that this was no fault of our own and to send my power bills to their email for reimbursement. I emailed and still after a month of waiting I got no response. I called March 5, 2024 for a follow up which was advised that **** would talk to her supervisor And see what could be done. On March 6, 2024 **** called me back to advise me that even though I was advised incorrectly by their employee they would not reimburse me for anything and that I have to eat the cost of the electric bills and the maintenance fee.Business Response

A resolution specialist from Sunergy was in contact with the customer and was able to address the concerns described on the customer's case. ******************** does acknowledge that there was some miscommunication deriving from one agent which lead the customer to expectations of Reimbursement which were not accurate. This policy has been clarified to the customer, however, the customer grievances are not disregarded and currently a reimbursement for the service charge ($350.00) has been offered and is in the process of completion. This is to be followed up on today Wednesday 3/13/24 in order to complete a written agreement with the customer that this is being done. Additional to this it was communicated to the customer that if there be additional points of concern or issues to be addressed that this can be forwarded to her resolution specialistInitial Complaint

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Sunergy Solar Company regarding misleading information and false promises made during the sales process, as well as subsequent misrepresentation of the performance and cost savings associated with their solar panels.Upon entering into a contract with Sunergy Solar Company, we were assured by their sales representative that we would experience significant cost savings on our energy bills. Specifically, we were told that the only bill we would receive after installing Sunergy's solar panels would be a nominal $20 connection charge. This statement was unequivocally false.Contrary to what was promised, our Sunergy lease has resulted in a monthly payment that surpasses our previous electricity bill. Not only are we not experiencing any savings, but we are now burdened with a higher expense than before, despite assurances from Sunergy's sales team.Furthermore, when we reached out to Sunergy to voice our concerns and inquire about the discrepancy in savings, we were met with further deception. A Sunergy representative informed us that it may take several months to see the full performance benefits of the panels. This excuse was not disclosed during the initial sales pitch and adds to the growing list of misrepresentations made by Sunergy Solar Company. We feel deceived and misled by Sunergy's false claims and lack of transparency. We entered into this agreement with the expectation of saving money and reducing our carbon footprint, but instead, we find ourselves in a worse financial situation than before. Therefore, we urge the Better Business Bureau to investigate Sunergy Solar Company and take appropriate action to address their deceptive sales practices. We also request assistance in resolving our contractual agreement with Sunergy and seeking fair compensation for the misinformation and financial harm we have endured.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,Veteran in CrisisBusiness Response

I signed a contract to have Solar Panels installed in May 2023, didn't have Permission to Operate until November 2023. I have called in and emailed in about subpar performance of the system and continue to get the runaround. My solar system is producing 68% of what I signed a contract for. February 2024 was the best performing month so far, and we are still that far below par. Additionally, the App states that for the same 33 days of my FPL billing cycle, that I "Imported ******** kWh from the grid"... but FPL says I only imported 457. This is fraud. For the same 33 days that I used 457 actual KwH from FPL, the solar panel system "Produced ******kwH" for a total of 1,209.49kWh.Being that my contract states the system should create 13,133kwh per year, that is 1,094.42kWh per month. It is only producing ******. If the system was producing what I contracted for it to produce, I would only be paying FPL for 115.07kWh to be imported. My Solar Panel System is not producing what I contracted for. Not even close. **************** stated two months ago it had been cloudy... no. This is a chronic problem.Add to the system not producing what it should, the app is falsely recording inflated imported energy from the grid therefore inflating the "usage" shown on the app. I have had no changes or additions to items in my home that would add to the energy usage. The app is wrong, and FPL is backing that up.I would like this system removed from my home and a full reimbursement issued for the loan. This entire process has been a complete nightmare. Sunergy should be ashamed of themselves.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Sunergy does not follow through. I have reached out to them directly and received responses from several customer service agents that claim my system functioning at 70% of what I contracted is acceptable to them.
It is not acceptable.
A few days here and there operating at 70% due to weather or other factors I could understand, but over the life of the system it has never once - not for a single day - produced 100% of the average I contracted for.
This company deflects their responsibility and attempts to gaslight customers into believing everything is fine.
70% is not fine. I want their equipment removed from my property and a full refund.
Sincerely,

Sunergy would be happy to provide clarification. The Customer states that the system is not producing as expected, however, her system received permission to operate in November. Fall and Winter months will have lower production as compared to Spring and Summer. Upon looking at her production it appears her system is actively producing.
In Section 4.4.3 of the Sunergy Solar Purchase Agreement, titled "No Guarantee of System Output" it states the following,
"Sunergy makes no guarantees, representations, or warranties regarding System output or production, expected utility rate increases, or any other factors used to calculate the customers payments or estimated savings. No energy production or utility bill savings estimates, whether given orally or in writing, are contractually binding and are merely intended as informational estimates. You understand you will still receive utility bills due to utility hook-up fees, as well as factors such as increased electricity usage (if applicable), lack of net metering credits, weather patterns, age of HVAC system, age of roof, and the measure of efficiency in windows and insulation. If you request that Sunergy add more solar panels to the System in the future, subject to availability Sunergy will agree to install the panels for the costs of labor and equipment at that time." The Customer signed the Purchase Agreement on May 27, 2023 acknowledging that she read and understood the terms of the Purchase Agreement.
To date, Sunergy's Resolution team has attempted to reach the Customer through email as previously requested and has not received a response back. Sunergy is happy to evaluate her utility bills to see if she is enrolled in any Budget Billing program in which would prevent her from seeing a difference in her utility bill.Initial Complaint

The salesmen told me that I would have 1-2 months after my solar system was turned on before a loan payment was due. This way I wouldnt have to pay a power company bill and a solar loan bill at the same time. Sunergy installed my system and some wiring issues had to be fixed and Sunergy delayed the repairs and delay getting the building inspection done and delayed getting the application process started with the power company . The system was about 30 days delayed in all, which by the time I got permission to operate a loan payment was due. Sunergy is refusing to help with ************** payment with the program they have in place for situations like this and the loan company goodleap is refusing to help as well.Business Response

Sunergy Is A SCAM!Note: full details are in attachment. Here is the SHORT list of issues with Sunergy:> July 12, 2022: Sale: I was lied to. The salesperson told me my non-solar bill would be $0 (or very near so). It has been average $100 each month (for about a year now). My most current non-solar bill is $200.> OCT 24, 2022: Sunergy representative is a no show (for inspection)> FEB 5, 2023: Email sent to Synergy My solar payments started in November [but] I am still paying my normal electricbill.> FEB 6, 2023 Email sent to Sunergy, raising concerns:There was never a single point of contact from Sunergy, to guide me Extremely delays, including Sunergy folks not showing up on inspection day Too many different people from Sunergy saying different things > FEB 26, 2023 Email sent to Sunergy:The post-work cleanup was really sloppy - details in attachment.> JUL 2023: Finally, I was contacted by a customer services manager, named *******. He said he would fix all my issues. He said that Sunergy does about ***** (one thousand) installs a month and there are no problems. He said I was the 1% of the 1% of customers who have such problems, as I do.> Present day: I am getting a new roof installed (due to previous hail damage). However, that is currently at a standstill since the cost quoted by Sunergy to uninstall and reinstall the solar panels is exorbitantly high ($22,770). > Radiant barrier was promised. It was finally installed 1 year later. For everything above, I have proof (emails/PICs) and even more details. This is the worst service I had received of any company in all of my 25 years owning multiple homes. At present, I have 0 (ZERO) trust in Sunergy. After I submit this BBB complaint, I will also forward it to ******* Attorney General ***********************.IF THE SOLAR SYSTEM IS NOT REMOVED (WITHOUT ANY COST/PENALTY/FEES/ETC TO ME), MY NEXT STEP IS LEGAL ACTION.Please make my home Whole.I expect Good Faith in this process.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Sunergy replied: "Our Resolution team will reach out to the customer to better discuss their concerns and work towards a resolution path.".
You haven't done that in over one year - what makes me believe you will do that now???
It's been a horrific last year, dealing with Sunergy.
Did you actually read my full attachment, from the original complaint?
That was just a small list of all the problems that Sunergy did..... lies, manipulations by Sunergy
Again, Sunergy is a SCAM - I want nothing to do with Sunergy.Just remove my solar system immediately, without any penalty/fees to me.
I can't even get a new roof because of your dishonest & manipulative practices.
You are charging an outrageous price for uninstall/reinstall for the solar panels - DOUBLE THE INDUSTRY STANDARD.
My home insurance company is not willing to pay for above - so, MY NEW ROOF IS AT A STANDSTILL.
MY CURRENT ROOF IS ABOUT 10 YEARS OLD AND CAN LEAK ANY DAY NOW - THAT IS NO EXAGGERATION!
Fix your outrageous price for uninstall/reinstall of solar panels IMMEDIATELY.
BTW, I did get a response back form ******* Attorney General *********************** - they are "currently reviewing complaints filed against this company" [Sunergy].
They have requested all documentation from me - emails/contracts/etc.
So, it is in your best interest to come clean sooner, rather than later... and do the right thing.
Otherwise, all of your lies/manipulation/deceit will be out in the open soon - your choice.
Sincerely,

Thank you for sending this response to us. Our resolution team has been investigating the claims made by the customer, hoping we can find a resolution path satisfactory to both the customer and ********************. Upon reviewing the account, it appears the customer reached out to us for an estimate on the cost of having Sunergy remove and reinstall the solar panels and replace the roof.
After reviewing the customer's recent rejection, it seems there may have been a miscommunication regarding the removal, reinstallation, and reroof quote. The customer is free to choose any roofing contractor; however, the solar system must be removed and reinstalled by either Sunergy or an approved solar contractor to ensure that the manufacturer warranties are not voided. This stipulation is in place for warranty preservation.
Sunergy's resolution team will promptly reach out to the customer directly to provide our offer in hopes of resolving his concernsCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
It is blatantly obvious that whomever responded did not read the original complaint in its entirety. So, please do that first - it is an attachment to this BBB complaint (file name: "Sunergy - BBB Compliant").
The uninstall/reinstall of the solar panels (for reroofing) is just one of the MANY complaints against Sunergy. This reply by Sunergy just further proves my point - that how completely and utterly incompetent the company is. And anyway, the issue with the solar panels uninstall/reinstall is the cost - it is twice the industry standard. Again, simply another scam tactic by Sunergy.
I did get a voicemal from a Sunergy case manager on Friday (FEB 16). This is too little, too late. I already went down that route previously and nothing was done. There is no case here Sunergy IS A SCAM.
Let me reiterate. IF THE SOLAR SYSTEM IS NOT REMOVED (WITHOUT ANY COST/PENALTY/FEES/ETC TO ME), MY NEXT STEP IS LEGAL ACTION.
Earlier today, as requested by ******* Attorney General ******************* office, I have provided them with the following documents:
1) Purchase and installation contract
2) Loan / financing agreement
3) Payment information
4) Inspection - No Show (OCT 6, 22)
5) Inspection - No Show (OCT 19, 22)
6) Double Billing Start (FEB 5, 23)
7) My Official Complaint Filed With Sunergy (FEB 6, 23)
8) Cleanup Not Done (FEB 26, 23)9) ( More to come :) )
By the way, I have started a new website for Synergy Is A Scam - *****************************************.I will be adding to this website, including links to the 173 complaints filed against Sunergy:
*****************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
Sunergy, its your choice your reputational risk it at hand. It appears you are perfectly fine with having your scam tactics go public.

I am rejecting this response because:
This is absolutely unacceptable. The salesperson told me that my non-solar bill would be $0 per month (or just a few dollars) - it's closer to an average of about $100/month.... some months it's almost $200.
Again, please read my original complaint.... I KEEP ON HAVING TO SAY THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.
That means Sunergy used deceptive sales tactics, including lying about the true cost of solar.
JUST REMOVE MY SOLAR SYSTEM, as you are obviously not admitting to your faults.

This started on April 29th when Sunergy stopped by and sold me Solar Panels. I was told that they would have it installed in less than a month and that I would even get a free month of not paying my electric bill before my loan was due.. It was over 5 months for Sunergy to get the panels working and that was me calling Sunergy several times a week wondering what was going on. I even had to be the one to get ahold of the city inspector to come back out after it failed the inspection the first time or who knows how long I would of waited. I was paying both the loan and my electric bill. Sunergy said they got it up and running (and did pay for the loan amount for 4 months) I thought it was all settled, NOPE!!!!!!!!! Still not working and now been another 4 months and I am still paying for both the loan and a full electric bill. No one will call me back i have left voicemail, text message and email - NO RESPONSE I was lied to about the tax rebate and how much the electric bill would be, that is if they ever getting the panels working.. Last communication with the customer took place on 04/09. In this instance Sunergy was able to explain the customer the data available through the system's monitoring portal and the customer's electric bills as to what the current consumption and production is. Sunergy advised that there would need to be more time used in evaluation in order to determine what her real needs would be if different. The customer expressed her agreement on this and a follow up date was set to June 10th in order to be able to ***** the consumption at that time and review the need for further assessing the concerns. Additionally the representative with Sunergy explained how the Solar monitoring system works and advised on good frequency to monitor the system's production as we further evaluate the upcoming months.Initial Complaint

On 11/9/23 Sunergy installed solar panels on our house. That part went flawless and we were told someone would be out to hook up the solar panels within 14 days. It is 1/17/24 and they STILL have not hooked up the solar panels so they are just sitting on our roof doing nothing. We've tried calling and nothing- we have gotten no calls back or the run around that someone will contact us ASAP to schedule. It's been so long that the finance company wants their payments and we called them and they are filing a complaint with Sunergy as well. My next step is to go to our city's permitting departments and the ************************Business Response

Thank you for bringing the situation into light and to our attention. A project manager has been specially assigned to the task to oversee the process and to be in contact with the customer moving forward. At this point in time, Sunergy is looking to upgrade the main panel of the home which requires complicated scheduling. Sunergy is currently in the process of coordinating the upgrade and will advise with a date and time. This upgrade is simply part of the process and we appreciate all effort and understanding as we work toward our mutual goal of providing solar. Sunergy's resolutions team along with the electrical and engineering departments are working diligently to provide real time updates and move further along in the process.Initial Complaint

This business fails to adhere to appointments scheduled. I have lost wages and time. I now have damage to my roof that will need to be repaired once the equipment is removed. I have been waiting since August of last year to get the equipment installed and every time the business makes an appointment they fail to show up and they fail to advise the customer of the same. The company lacks integrity to it's own customers. I have on numerous occasions advised the business that if they do not install the equipment on the date they said they would then the contract should be void and restitution should render the contract void and ******* to be repaired due to their lack of communication and inability to stick to appointments. I now want the equipment removed as it has not been installed. I would also like the materials that have been installed removed from my property and the property repaired as it was prior to installation of the minor materials.Business Response

Thank you for sending this complaint over to us. Our Resolution team will reach out to the customer to better discuss their concerns and work towards a resolution path. Currently, we are coordinating a time with our local installer crews to stop by the home to complete the laying of the panels so that we can move forward with scheduling the city inspection. Our installer crew's availability can vary, but we are hopeful to have the appointment on the schedule by next week.
