Though solicitors are not allowed in our development, a SUNERGY salesperson named *********************** met with us and sold us solar panels. He gave us a timeline which was not even closely followed. After much time passed, we were contacted and told that the cost of the project would be more than what was shared and agreed upon. We said we would continue only with the original agreed upon terms. We were recently contact after 19 months from the original meeting in May of 2023 and told we must pay $1,800 for a service (insulation installation) that I dont even know for sure was even provided. **** said that it was provided in August of 2022 when we spoke today! Another company representative ******* texted me a thumbs up when I shared that the only invoice I will accept is one with a $0.00 balance. **** had no idea whether either ****** or ******* even worked for the company any longer. At one point I was told that ****** no longer works for the company. I want an invoice from the company that shows a $0.00 balance and the lien from my house removed.I have requested all of the documents from the company for my lawyer to review if necessary. Im hoping this can be resolved by the BBB. Thank you.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Im still waiting on copies of all of the documents from my file that I requested. Also, the only real resolution is a removal of the lien and confirmation of a **** balance. Afterwards I will remove my complaint with the BBB.

Synergy installed my solar panels and I had issues from the very beginning. I now have a leak on my roof and I have been calling and leaving messages for a return call as they should be the ones handling this no one is returning my call yet they take my money every single month. I am looking into getting an attorney because they were not truthful from the very beginningBusiness Response

A sales rep knocked on the door in August (2023). Offering to discuss solar panels. At first, I said no thank you because I have too many trees, and no money to get them cleaned up. The sales representative said that the company will take care of the trees with no cost to me. So I let her inside my house and we discussed how solar energy works. (the tech side of it) After she explained how solar energy works, she asked for me to sign a paper, stating that she explained how solar panels work along with net metering. My son asked her if this was a contract I would be signing and she said no, it is just a paper showing that she explained how solar energy worked. This past weekend 11/18/23 they showed up and put the panels on the roof. I asked about the trees being cut, and the installer said the company would get back to me in a week about the trees. So I called on Monday 11/20/23 and asked when they planned on coming out to cut the trees. I was told that I am responsible to cut the trees and they would reimburse up to $4000. I told them that is not what the sales person told me. She said the company will come out and cut the trees, and that I didnt have to pay for it out of pocket. Come to find out the paper she told me was NOT a contract ended up being a contract. When the person I was talking to sent a copy of this contract, it looks like the one signature I did sign (acknowledging that the sales rep told me how solar energy works) was copy and pasted down the contract. all the signatures down the page look exactly the same. I only signed one time and that was the paper she said was just explaining how solar energy works. I told the person I was talking to that I do not want to do business and to come get the panels. They refused to acknowledge that I do not want to continue business with a company that lies to people to get them to sign a contract. Not only did they lie to me to get me interested they also lied to me stating it was not a contract I was signing. Now they are trying to say if I get out of the contract, I will have to pay a heavy fee for the contractors to come and remove the panels.I feel they fraudulently misrepresented themselves by lying to me twice to sign a contract. I want out of this contract with this company. I am a 68 and retired, I do not want to deal with a company that I feel takes advantage of senior citizens.Business Response

I have been trying to get ahold of Sunergy for years with no luck and no call backs. At first I wanted to add more panels because my electrical bill was still $150 on top of the $215 solar panel loan. After a while I gave up. Now my system hasnt worked since July and I cant get anyone to answer or reply to texts, emailscallsnothing! My power bill is over $300 and I am still paying my solar loan for $215. I pay $600-$700 a month because I cant get anyone to come look and fix my solar panel issue. They arent powered on at all and they are supposed to have a lifetime warranty.Business Response

The solar company installed the solar panels in 8/2023 and did a clean job except we have four large boxes taking up real-estate on the side of our home and was never asked or explained to that we would have so many electrical boxes on the side of our home that is viewed from the main road. We would have preferred inside the garage or further away from the main rd. Our home looks like a power plant. I feel this is unacceptable to just make holes etc and place piping and boxes where this might cause hardship if we decide to sell. It's a main wall next to our garage that could be presented with something prettier to the eye, Curb appeal. The company explained to me that the work they did on 11/3 was not needed and now still wsiting for them to remove which now i say itd damage to our home. The company hired a private company for the permitting and still since 9/8 we have to have the home inspected until the 11/3 which I had no idea about, we paid electricity in 8/2023 understandable; Sept they came and hung the revised permit, October I phoned again, asking what's taking so long to have the permit inspected. I was told they need to run yet another pipe/electrical (paid October FPL bill) next available appt 11/3. We had no idea they were doing this because the scheduler said it was for the permit. It took them 7 hrs on 11/3 to run electrical that we were not aware of. They did a terrible job it's on the outside above our new garage door. Instead of shutting off the power and installing the pipe inside they went and did what they wanted. **** is what the electrician stated he did not want to shut off power. The job they left with exposed wire, and a hole in my concrete slab, which will now further delay inspection approval. Before the electricians drove away i call them back to correct it, all the wire was exposed. They didn't correct it but a half a** job, and now we may not pass inspection. They also left a large hold in our wall inside the garage the hole is covered by drywall but easy to remove not sealed. When i asked will they repair the drywall he said no someone will come bak from the company to make the repair. Who knows what the attic looks like I'm afraid to check. today is 11/20/23 and no phone calls back at ALL no one to make correction to permit no one to inspect no one to make repairs and no one to follow-up. I expected a phone call Friday 11/17/23 no one phoned. I phoned many times. They mentioned we could get reimbursed for the monthly bill 1/2023 if it's accepted "if" seriously with no solar. How many times I've called Sunergy, many times. We are now in Nov paid not only our electric bill, but they just deducted the monies for the actual solar panel that are not in use. Almost in Dec next electric bill is due and no solar. I phoned today 11/20/23 someone is supposed to call me back...no member of management available. How can that be if this is a large company. They were quick to place the panels on your roof. I am a veteran currently working for the GOV. **** is UNACCEPTABLE and causing a great hardship on myself and family. I am having anxiety dealing with this, it's not right. I went about this to help conserve energy; I pay my bills timely and this is how I am being treated. I should not have to pay almost four months of electricity and 1 bill payment of solar, when they are not even in use. My electric bill is $530 dollars could have saved since the solar bill is $300 not I'm paying for both. I have no idea when the fPL company will come to switch from FPL to solar they haven't told us yet, supposedly another 30 days and there is a form...what form. I need this rectified ASAP way before end of year to receive the tax credit towards the panels. I am also looking for reimbursement of electrical bill for the months October, November and maybe December and the Solar bill I paid $313 and possibly for December. I want to avoid further action since this is daunting already and exhausting. Irresponsible company that just wants your money. Buit, states in contract if I don't pay, they can place a lien on my home...seriously. They already broke contract by revising the permit. Also if this cant be resolved I'd rather, they gather their equipment leave my credit in good standing and cancel my order. and reimbursement of the payment i made for solar we dont have. thank youBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because:1. The electrician came to our home 11/24/23 (satisfied) but told us they would be able to re-route the piping (electrical after inspection) which we are in agreement, except there is no proof that this will occur. We are concerned if we state we are satisfied they won't come to correct the job. I would like a confirmation email once inspection s done.
2. We submitted the bill and payment for the panels for reimbursement and after a week I phoned to follow up (11/28/23) rep stated did not receive the email with proof. I emailed again three more times finally they received the email/statement proof of **** paid and still no reimbursement. I'm assuming when a company offers financing, in this case solar panels should know if customers are making monthly payments towards the solar panels. Rep stated possibly another two weeks if the reimbursement is approved.
3. Second revised copy reviewed, 11/28/23 and we are satisfied. Monday 12/11/23 final Inspection for approval to switch to solar. 11/30/23 spoke to a rep from Sunergy and stated a form is need before inspection and this will be placed in packet before 12/11/23 inspection, I hope. Next step is to switch from FPL to solar, how long? unable to clarify. Again, they need to provide us of the next step. Possibly the end of Dec 2023? concerned, another payment is due the end of Dec for solar and FPL. totaling $750 dollars. I am not sure if FPL will adjust our monthly bill and going through providing proof of solar payment is a pain.
4. I asked about the tax credit, and they stated we can provide the contract to show proof of purchase. Concerned that we may not get the credit still. Do we need a form that we can use to file with our taxes next year, this Jan ****. (I file on time every year). No one seems to be able to answer what forms is needed, etc.
5. When is FPL/Sunergy switching to solar? and do we need to enroll in the Metered Program through FPL?
Sincerely,
*****************************Business Response

Sunergy is always willing to answer any question that is presented if the knowledge itself is known to the agent the Customer is speaking too. In this particular case, it is hard for Sunergy to give a firm deadline on when the Customer is to expect system activation as there are outside entities ( such as the **************** City for inspection, or Private inspection agency depending on the jurisdiction) that have there own timeline Sunergy does not have control over. We are able to give a general timeline, however, it is subject to change for reasons mentioned previously. Currently, we are working with the Private inspection agency to reschedule the inspection. Our ************ was able to reach out to the customer to pre-emptively fill out the system activation application as required by the **************** Once the inspection passes, we can automatically send the application over then it can take between 10 to 20 business days for the *************** to install the new meter and ***** us permission to operate.
Our resolution team has remained in contact with this Customer. We would like to assure both the Better Business Bureau and the Customer that if additional follow up is required after the complaint is closed, we will be more than happy to continue to assist until the concerns have been resolved. The Customer is correct in the sense that ******************** cannot legally give tax advice regarding any tax credits or rebates she could potentially receive for purchasing solar. Those questions need to be addressed with her tax professional. Our resolution specialist, *******, was able to speak with the Customer directly about possible reimbursement for solar loan payments.

I am rejecting this response because: Spoke to two reps from Sunergy on 12/11/2023 which was the day we were scheduled for the inspector and no one could explain why he did not show up. eventually I received an answer stating that since we have as private contractor the photos and details can be viewed electronically. I mean seriously if that was the case our panels should be working right now. Sunergy finally stated inspection would be completed the week of 12/11/2023 and we would have the results on Friday 12/15/2023, no such luck. Finally ****************** phoned me and explained the delay which I appreciate but if we have a personal contractor why is it taking so long still? eventually ******* stated he would handle my case and would follow up. Looks like he phoned yesterday, and I will phone him back. The monthly charge for the panels were deducted again for this month, I will forward an email with copy of payment for reimbursement. This delay has caused a serious hardship paying for electricity since September with panels all over my roof that are not in working order. We still need drywall repair and rerouting of piping so its not visible from the road. Hopefully we have solar soon, another FPL ************** light) bill was paid $530.00. Furthermore we still have to wait for FPL to switch our solsar on and did not know that was a fee charge every month for that service. Extremely disappointed. If our panels are not running by the first week of January I would like to have the panels removed.
Sincerely,
*****************************Business Response

The amount of the reimbursement is to be determined based on the customer's loan payment. Although ******************** is anticipating this to be $309.14 based on November's reimbursement amount, it is still to be determined and confirmed once the customer is able to forward payment confirmation for the month of December.
Further more. All inspections have been completed as of today. Inspection results are still pending per the third party inspection contractor and we are awaiting to get these results in order to procced with the next two steps: 1)Proceed with the submission of the interconnection application that has already been prepared and 2)Proceed with the completion of the repairs on the Drywall and piping from the electrical work that needed to remain accessible for inspection purposes.Initial Complaint

Sunergy did a re-roof and installed solar panels on my house. The roof was installed on August 2nd and the solar panels on August 9th. I was told that I would receive a 60 day grace ****** for the loan, however, as soon as the panels were installed the loan servicer called and began the billing process. I contacted Sunergy and they said I can submit a reimbursement request. I submitted the 2 payments I made on September and October. They approved the September payment, but declined the October payment saying they will only reimburse prior to "Permission to Operate". It's been 3 months now since they approved the September payment and I haven't received the reimbursement. I tried contacting the sales **** ************************ and he hasn't answered or replied back to me. While this has been going on, I got my insurance company to review the roof and solar do they can update my policy. They told me that part of the roof where the solar panels are installed looks to be damaged due to installation. I contacted Sunergy about this and it's been over a month. All they've told me is that the manager is "reviewing" the request.Business Response

Hire company to install solar panels. They installed the panels in may of 2023. These panel still do not work as designed. I still have inoperable panels on my roof. I called the company repeatedly to speak to a manager but no one ever returned my call. Finally after 4.5 months someone finally called me and has been working hard to get this system working. During this install they damaged my roof that was just installed 6 month prior. I have asked them to repair my roof but the came out and glued shingles on top of Damaged shingles. I have asked for compensation for the damaged roof and all the time and aggravation waiting for their technicians to arrive and repair system. Half of the time they were no show and no call. As of today I have damaged roof shingles, holes in soffit where they drilled thru. Holes in roof where they drilled and never used. Just filled with silicone. I was told they feel they repaired the system and roof and offer ****** for lose of production. Needless to say this system has been in my roof for almost 6 months and still not working at 100%. But they have never mentioned fixing any damages.Business Response
