While paying for a tee time through GolfNow I was automatically signed up for a membership with ******** that I didn't want. They charged me $95.68 and I called them to cancel and refund my money. They sent me an email confirming my cancellation and that they would refund my money within 5-7 business days. No money was refunded by day 10 so I called them and they said they refunded the money and can't resend the refund. I contacted my bank and they confirmed that no money was refunded. I filed a dispute on the charges with my bank. They need to refund me the $95.68.Business Response

I purchased 3 rounds of golf through the GolfNow app in April 2024. The reason for using their product was due to the advertised benefit of rewards points earned if you book it through the app. It has now been over 4 months and they have not rewarded the points and provided zero updates. They have attempted to resolved by offering small discounts on future rounds, but then raise the price in app to adjust for it. This app is scamming people and provides no customer service once you catch them in their lie. They have went as far as to remove the rounds from my app to try and remove proof but I have documented and provided all requested information.Business Response

The consumer booked one round of three golfers, not three rounds. GolfNow does not have a method to forcefully delete reservation history, nor did the consumer show evidence of deleted bookings. The booking they showed is the exact one we are able to see in our system for April 30th, 2024.
We have issued the consumer 826 loyalty points, which is the amount listed in the provided screenshot. Please allow the points up to 72 hours to appear on their account.

I am rejecting this response because:The reason for the complaint was due to the points NOT being credited to my account. The evidence provided shows the amount I was due to receive and never did. You just acknowledged it should take *********************************************** April 2024. This is well outside of the timeframe of what is considered reasonable and your lack of communication further proves that.
The issue was not around the amount of rounds (3 rounds vs 1 round for 3 people is the same exact thing), but around the lack of communication and rewarding of earned points.
You only issued said points at this time because it was filed as a complaint and I would like for my complaint to stand.

The consumer created their GolfNow account the same day they completed their first booking with GolfNow, which is the reservation in question. Because their profile was brand new, their is the possibility the system did not recognize their account as being activated at the time. Guest accounts are unable to earn points, so we believe the system treated their first booking as a guest booking, as every booking afterwards was awarded points in a timely fashion. There is also the possibility the consumer was a guest, completed their booking, and then finalized their profile. However we are unable to verify either of these.
At this time the consumer has been properly compensated.

They continuously pushed off the request for information and provided zero customer service during the duration of the issue. Instead of formally recognizing their wrongdoing, they continue to point the finger.

I was given a gift card for my birthday while I was on a golf trip. I tried to use the gift card and it would not work. I called the site and they told me to wait a day or two until the system was working. After three days, I attempted to use the card on a Saturday and it still would not work. I called GolfNow and asked if they could add the value of the gift card to the account somehow so I could use on my golf trip. I was told that wasn't possible. After many back and forths, they agreed to send me promo codes valued at the price of the gift card. I went to use the promo codes and they did not work. They were only valid for hot deals, Monday-Thursday, after 12:00. After I had just explained to the agent on the phone that I was trying to use it THAT DAY, SATURDAY, I was given unusable promo codes as a solution.I had to call back and speak to multiple other agents AGAIN to resolve the issue. The best thing they could offer me was an additional set of the promo codes they had sent, in addition to the ones they had already sent that I would not be able to use on my golf trip. I agreed to this as the value made up for my time wasted and day ruined.Today, I attempted to use the codes and they did not work. One set did, the other did not. I contacted customer service and a man named ******** ***** said I was being unfair and I was only provided one set of codes. I explained I have two SEPARATE sets in my email given the circumstances. He said that GolfNow cancelled the second set and only one was valid. I was never told this nor is there any record of GolfNow telling me I was only receiving one set. I would like both sets of promo codes to work so I can use them this week, as I was promised when I spent almost an entire day of vacation dealing with this company. I am tired of wasting my time speaking to incompetent people who tell me I am not being 'fair' when their company has wasted hours of my life due to their terrible service and platform.Business Response

Tried booking a hot deal tee time for a course next Saturday using a promotion code that was sent for using their companion product, Golfnow Compete. When I try booking the reservation I am met with an error that the tee time is not available, yet I get 2 pending charges on my card for the booking. 1 hour later the hot deal re-appears on their website as being for sale again. I have contacted GolfNow's customer support team to get issue resolved and tee time booked. Each time I was told that the time is available and they needed to work with their offline team to get this resolved. Then I get 2 more charges to my credit card. They advise me they will call me back and email me my confirmation within 30 mins. At no time were either of these done, needing me to call back in. When I asked for a supervisor, twice I was told that there are no supervisors that can help. The one time I got one, I was told that it is an internal issue and it can not be fixed. I was offered an inconvenience credit and told to look for it in my inbox. Guess what has never come, the confirmation email nor the inconvenience credit. Now I sit here with $2,000 in pending charges on my credit card which is causing me issues with my bank, and I am still yet to find someone who can help resolve my booking issue.Business Response

From the provided email we do not see any upcoming reservations. They received checkout errors during the booking process. There are multiple factors that could result in a checkout error. The most common reason is the teetime may have been sold, but our website did not update this information immediately. However we do not know for certain why the consumer was being impeded. Pending charges are holds placed by the bank/credit card company. Sometimes a payment process is attempted during the checkout error. These holds get reversed within a few business days. As we do not have the pending funds, we are unable to reverse or expedite the refund.
Additionally, he promotional codes were emailed to the consumer on 8/21. We ask they check their junk/spam folders for the email.

I have a GolfNow Gift card valued at $100. Twice now I have tried to book a tee time using the Golf Now website. The website charges a fee for the booking, which is deducted from the gift card, but they will not apply the gift card balance to the golf fee. I called their 800 # and the representative told me there are courses that do not accept the gift card online. So they'll book the tee time, charge the fee, but when you go to pay by entering in the gift card and pin # it won't accept the payment. This was confirmed with the Golf Now agent. In my opinion this is very deceptive. The site books your time - indicating its an affiliated club - allows you to enter the gift card number and pin and accepts it - then won't allow it to be applied to the amount due. GolfNow Cards purchased prior to June 6, 2023 can only be used towards Convenience Fees and Hot Deals on GolfNow.com and the GolfNow mobile app. GolfNow Cards purchased on or after June 6, 2023 can only be used towards Hot Deals, prepaid tee times, convenience fees, Tee Time Protection, and purchasing GolfPass memberships (as determined by GolfNow) on GolfNow.com, **********, the GolfNow and ************* apps, or other participating GolfNow websites and apps. For the avoidance of doubt, GolfNow Cards may not be used towards: (1) any portion of Greens Fees that are labelled Due at Course or are otherwise to be paid in person at the golf course; (2) SmartPlay Orders; or (3) the purchase of other GolfNow Cards. In summary, the consumer booked a reservation where fees were due at the course. Their gift card only paid for the online portion, which was our convenience fee. To fully utilize the gift card, the consume needs to select a reservation where all payment is due online. While we have numerous times that qualify listed, Hot Deals will always be fully due online.

On two occasions, using the Golf Now site, I booked ***** ****** and entered the gift card number only to have it not be charged. I tried to use the card at the courses and was told they would not accept it. If GolfNow is going to present the availability of using the gift card then it should be accepted. They did charge me the $3.00 convenience fee so that proves the card is good, only they didn't charge it for the round.

The gift card held by the consumer is valid and working as intended. Again it only works on payments due online. On GolfNow.com, some reservations are fully prepaid, some require a partial payment and the rest due at course, and other teetimes are fully charged upon arrival at course. This varies course by course. The only exception is Hot Deals are always fully prepaid. We, nor the consumer, are able to change if a reservation is prepaid or not. The consumer will need to select a teetime that is fully due online if they wish to fully redeem their gift card.

I visited the website accidentally to make a tee time at the *********** where I am a member. When I filled out the desired date & info I noticed they wanted to charge an additional $10.66 service fee. I exited the site & went to the correct web site, that does not charge a fee, and made a tee time. Later I received a notice from my credit card that I had a pending transaction with Golf Now. I contacted Golf Now and asked to have the transaction reversed. On July 28th, I had a tee time at ********************** at 2pm. I called in the morning-noon time to cancel the reservation, as I tested positive for Covid and had a fever that morning. I was told that if I bought a golfnow membership, I would be able to use 1 out of 10 membership cancellation benefits to get my green fee back. I bought the membership on the call, and the representative assured me that I just need to call back if the golf club happens to charge me, which they did on July 31st. I called golfnow back regarding this issue, and they suddenly changed their minds and said that the refund was not possible. When I brought up that I was promised a refund from one of their representatives, they said they would inspect the issue and get back to me before the end of the business day. Now, it is the end of their business day, and they still have not called me back. Overall, I feel lied to (1) for being able to call golfnow and get the refund if I purchase the golfnow membership, (2) for getting a call back before the end of today's business day. This is very unprofessional, and I would not have bought the membership if they were not able to provide this cancellation benefit for this case.Business Response

To begin, the reservation is still nonrefundable. ********************** was the owner of the reservation, so their policy must be abided by. The course stated that they do not permit cancellations of their third party bookings, even though the fees go to them. Afterwards they charged the consumer a no-show charge for the full greens fees.
Initially the agent that spoke with the consumer did specify that the benefit of Tee Time Protection would not be able to apply retroactively; some benefits require the membership to exist prior to making the booking. Tee Time Protection permits the cancellation of a booking up to an hour prior and that a credit would be providable. It can be purchased at checkout for an additional fee, but ********* members receive 10 every year. The consumer did not purchase the protection, not did they already have GolfPass+ before booking. However, the verbiage of the agent did not continue to reflect this and we apologize.
We are issuing the consumer an account credit for $347.70, which is the full value they paid for the reservation. This is inclusive of the tax, down payment, and remainder charged by ********************** as a no-show. The account credit will be available for use for the next sixth months or until fully depleted, whichever occurs earliest. It can be applied to Hot Deal prepayments made on GolfNow.com or **********. It does not need to be used all at once and promotional codes/ gift cards can be used in conjuncture with it.
At this time, the consumer has not utilized their GolfPass+ benefits. If they are seeking to cancel it, they would be fully reimbursed as they are within our refund policy. We only need to be informed here if they wish to cancel or keep the GolfPass+ membership. Please note that cancellation will also end any benefits that have been issued or have yet to be.

The Rewards and Credits section is for accumulated loyalty points and redemptions. Account credits will be found under Manage Payments where credit card and gift card information is saved.
Additionally, the consumer has not specified if they wish to continue their GolfPass+ membership or cancel it for a refund. It is only refundable until the consumer uses a benefit, or if 30 days has elapsed since the purchase of the membership. Beyond that, it would no longer qualify for a refund.

The consumer had their GolfPass+ membership refunded on 8/8/2024. Refunds generally take 3-7 business days.
GolfNow account credits work on prepayments made on GolfNow.com. So it will cover convenience fees, down payments, and fully prepaid reservations. It is only applicable to bookings, but it has no time or day restrictions. The credit is only applicable on GolfNow.com and will not work in person or on a golf course website. The consumer has already partially used this credit on a recent booking.

I have an account balance to be used on the site. The site specifically states "* GolfNow credits are valid towards Hot Deals and Convenience Fees paid online. Credits expire 6 months from date of issuance." in their fine text. So I booked a reservation and expected the $5 convenience fee on top of my $48 reservation to come out of my account balance. The $5 was still charged to my credit card, despite that not following what the own site said in their fine print. Then when I chatted with a representative, I told them my issue and when they couldn't help, I said I wanted to cancel the reservation and get a refund, as I only used the site because I had credit I wanted to apply. The representative on the other side of the chat cancelled my reservation without telling me it was non-refundable. So now I have no reservation and no refund and no credits applied. They just stole my money and I have nothing to show for it.Business Response

I have checked my emails (spam, junk, and deleted folders) without any success. I have only received my monthly $10 tee time credit as per my subscription - not the $10 credit for GODAD coupon. I would write directly to Golf Now but they did not have a published email for customer complaints/enquiries. Thats quite frustrating as well so sorry I have to employ your assistance.
Golf Now needs to send either another duplicate email or check themselves as to when and how they sent the credit. Conversely, why wouldn't it simply appear on my redeemable credits on my app/account ?

Golfnow uses very deceptive advertising for their golf pass plus membership in two different areas when you sign up making you think that signing up for the membership waives the fees for the duration of the member ship using language "waived fees" and convenience fees waived for golf pass membership, insinuating that it would be the whole year. Although it is only 10 or 12, which equtes to less than $30 a year, not a great value there. No big deal, after reading their cancellation policy it is fair and allows you to cancel your subscription within 30 days for a refund if you have not used any of the benefits FOLLOWING your subscription membership. I booked a tee time while creating it which would not be following the membership sign up it would be during. Either way, I decided to cancel that reservation so therefore I had not used any of the benefits before during or obviously FOLLOWING the subscription sign up. I called the very next morning looking for my refund as the false advertising got me and I was not looking to continue as I saw no benefit in this service. Honestly it would have been all good if they just told me flat out no and told me to kick rocks but I had to waste an hour of my time calling back waiting on hold and every time I told someone I wanted to cancel the membership they would put me on hold and then hang up the call a few minutes later. I I've never actually seen such poor customer service straight out of a movie. On the 5th or sixth time I finally got someone to pick up the phone and not hang up on me after explaining the policy and why they should be refunding she flat out refused.
