I paid $4.99 for a trial of this service. It was difficult to use and had absolutely incorrect information. It seemed useless and absolutely not what was advertised. I was automatically charged $6.95 for Reverse Search/PDF access Bundle. The popup didn't indicate there was a charge for that and I couldn't see the button to close the window. I found out I was charged because I got an email notification from ****** and never received notification from the service. This service and what they advertise seems very misleading and automatically charging people without clearly indicating that would happen is grossly unfair. The email I received from them indicated that their customer service center was available 24/7 by phone and when I called at 7:08 pm Pacific Time there was an automated recording stating that they were open 8am - 5pm Eastern Time. I did a one week trial for $1 and was then charged $29.16. I called letting them know I was not aware of the charges and the unexpected charge put me in the negative. They told me no refunds are offered but they would cancel my account. They verified over the phone my account was cancelled and I would not receive additional charges moving forward. I asked TWICE. This all happened 4/17. I looked today and I was in the negative, due to being charged AGAIN (6/17). This caused me to accumulate overdraft fees, putting me in a bad financial position yet again this month. Ive been charged $87.48 since April. Its impossible to cancel your account online and theres no help when requesting a refund for services I didnt even know I was paying for. They dont even email you with receipts or anything because they dont want you to be reminded of your subscription. This has made me feel incredibly violated, putting my financial stability at risk without an email notifying me of the charges each month.Business Response

On April 29th i entered a few days trial period for a $1. I was full aware of I didn't cancel . I would i would be charged for a monthly reoccurring fee of $28.35. I used the service one time and canceled. Never used it again during trial. May 30th comes around.I have a charge of $28.35 from check people . I call leave a message. Casl back after weekend on Monday they tell me my subscription was just canceled a couple days ago and the payment they took was final. Told me no record of my cancelation in May .. I asked her to please look up and see I haven't used service since my 1st day of trial period . She said theres no way to know if I've used account or not . But I wouldnt be charged next month. So almost a month after I canceled and a month after my trial period expired the just decide to charge me . There's a month gap with no service . Bottom line is I canceled right away . Like many other negative reviews I have been charged $29.16 for a recurring CheckPeople bill that I didn't authorize.I authorized a $1 payment for a trial and saw no indication that this would continue as recurring.If the trial period is only 24 hours, cancelling within the trial period would be most difficult.I want this recurring charge cancelled. I signed up for a $1 promotion to find contact information for someone. To my shock, I found that, after a short break, this website continued to charge me at $1 PER DAY for over six months without informing me, or me expressly agreeing to it. This is a complete scam. What looks like a pay-per use service will continue to bill your payment method without warning or invoicing for a "subscription." I never used this after my $1 search and was billed over $200 until I discovered the charges on the seventh billing (****** drawing on a debit card).I never gave express, affirmative consent to ongoing billing by this fallacious site. I was looking for a service so that i could do a background check on somebody that i am interested in. I found **************************. My initial startup was $1.00, but they added another subscription on there for an additional $6.95 almost immediately. Less than a week later, i received yet another withdrawal in the amount of $29.16. With this one, I received an automated text from my Financial Institution because they flagged that charge as being Fraud. There is nothing when i go to my own Profile page for ************************** to tell me anything about renewal dates & fees, but my F.I. advised that i try to reach out to this business to demand a refund.When i finally got to speak to someone, i let them know of my dis-satisfaction and poor customer service, and poor business practices.When i initially told them i wanted my $ back, they first tried to tell me that once the withdrawal takes place, there is nothing they can do.Then i told them that my F.I. is involved now with a Fraud investigation against them, and that i was also reaching out to the BBB.Immediately after that, i got a 2 separate Cancellation e-mails, along with a single e-mail for a single refund. I again had to reach back out to them to again tell them that i want a refund for the remaining $6.95 and an e-mail receipt to prove that they refunded it.I eventually got that 2nd e-mail receipt for the refund of the $6.95 and it too was credited back to my F.I. the very same day. So now i am waiting on a new debit card to be mailed to me so that i can make sure that they dont try to charge it again. These people will never get another ***** out of ***************************** is a complete fraud. 2. No way to cancel online.
3. No indication on my profile page to remind me of when my next billing would be, or the amount that would be charged.
4. The initial e-mail that I received after I signed up only had the login credentials (email and password) but nothing about billing.
5. This is a very shady business that scams people out of $ since there is no indication about anything.
6. These people make it very difficult to cancel, and try to argue with you that once a withdrawal takes place, that they cannot do anything more about it....LIE!!!

Check People billed me after repeatedly telling them within 2 hours I found there site very inaccurate to close my account and refund my money. They have ignored 20 emails and when you call you get a recording about special promotions. I ordered a report that was only supposed to cost $1.00 and was charged $29.17. They also automatically set up a recurring monthly subscription that I never authorized. The website gives no online options to cancel any subscriptions or remove your credit card information from your account. I am currently working with ********** to try and get my money back and have locked my credit card from any future charges from this company.
