      During my appointment at Akumin in *******, ** on 3/30/2023, I had my card out to pay for the x-rays. The cost was $30. The receptionist encouraged me to send it to my insurance to see if they would cover it. I explained that it would not, but the receptionist said again I should try. I asked of there was an extra fee for that, and she said no, it will be the same and, they will just bill me later. I went with the receptionist advice. I then received a bill on 5/4/23 after my insurance denied the claim with a huge penalty. Instead of a $30 bill, I am now being asked to pay $176.If the receptionist knew that my cost would be so high, she should never have encouraged me to send it to insurance and should not have told me the cost would be the same. If the receptionist was not aware then she needs more training. I should be paying only $30. I called on May 10th and spoke with someone for about 20 minutes. I was told they would call me back. I sent follow up emails on May 24th and June 1st. No response. I think this situation could have been avoided if the receptionist had just taken the card I was trying to hand to her. She should never have tried to get me to change my form of payment. I should also have received some response from the company in the last month.

      I have two MRIs and two CT scans that I have scheduled numerous times one time I had to reschedule my appointment a second time they canceled the appointment for a lack of a technician a third time they canceled the appointment for an equipment failure. I have surgery coming up and I needed those test results. I tried to get a hold of them numerous times to schedule my appointment to see if they can make any kind of a exception to get me scheduled for this appointment right away due to their negligence I have left numerous messages for supervisors managers. I left a message for Mr. *** the president of the company. Nobody calls you back they leave you on hold for 45 minutes to an hour they never come back nearest to say I was supposed to have surgery on June 7 and I cant get an emergency appointment and I need assistance. .

      Where do I begin? My entire experience with Akumin, from start to finish, has been a horror show. To date, I have written at minimum 4 complaints/messages and left several other messages verbally, and not one supervisor has contacted me back. Getting basic information is a nightmare and things on their website (such as which locations are open/closed, types of *** machines, etc) are WRONG. Because the information on their site isn't correct and it took WEEKS to discover that, my *** took over a month to be scheduled. On top of that I was sent to a location that wasn't even OPEN for business!!! When I attempted to reach a location, I was ALWAYS routed to scheduling only. I finally reached a location around week 6 and was transferred to a supervisor *******. I left a voice message and to date, she has not returned my call. I also left a voice message for supervisor *******, to date she has not returned my call. I finally got lucky and got someone named *****************************, she took all my details and said she would tell ******* to call me as she was the one that handled problems in my area. STILL no call back from *******. ALL this h*** was BEFORE the actual ***. On the day of my ***, the girl at the front desk was unpleasant and spoke barely above a whisper. And the technician that performed the *** did nothing to buffer my duress even though I had a lengthy conversation with her BEFOREHAND explaining that I am claustrophobic and had a panic attack at a prior ***. I told her please talk to me periodically during the *** to ease my duress however SHE DID NOT. I was traumatized and near tears by the time I left. And all that was AFTER everything else I explained above. This was my THIRD experience with Akumin, all have been bad but this by far was the absolute worst. A total nightmare from start to finish. Akumin needs to be taken to task and held accountable!

      On 4/29/2023 I went to this clinic in ***** ******* and after the technician was done with the ultrasound exam, I was waiting for her to wipe off all the gel she has put on my chest and left and right sides but everything was opposing, she leaves your whole body smeared with the gel used in the treatment, the medical attention is terrible and I will never seek their service again.

      **** at your *********** location was an absolute terrible person to start my day talking to. There is no reason that she should have been rude and snappy with me on the phone. She told me that the fact that my doctor doesn't take fax was "my problem" I had spoken with her before, and she was just as rude. This type of person should not be working in medical records. She also told me, and my cousin two different things. Very inconsiderate and changes her mind on what she will tell someone based off of how she's feeling. Then she told me the manager is '********" but a person named "Tay" called me to "see what she could help with.." Treat your paying customers better than this and you need to make it so that I have the ability to review my own medical records that I PAID for.

      ON or around feb 16 th i requested my mammogram and ultrasound disc for an appointment with my breast surgeon on feb 22,2023 when my husband went to pick it up it was not ready mind you my mammogram was abnormal i also had a previous appt with this same facilty in dec but they waited until my appt to tell me they had no techs for the job

      After various problems and a cancellation by Akumin for a CT scan it was finally scheduled this week. Fasting was required and no water or food. Contrast was necessary and listed to be done. The tech could not get the needle in for the contrast. She continued to poke and poke and poke until there would be no more poking. it hurt. Then she said the vein was blown but continued to use some inflatable thing that made air release sounds. I started to get sick and thought I would throw up. The without contrast was completed but the with contrast was not. I left. She never offered to have anyone else try the needle. She never contacted a supervisor to tell them the required procedure was not finished. She would not tighten the band to help find my vein either. After coming home my mom left a vm and text message for a supervisor ********. No return call. After waiting for 1 hr on the phone ****** answered. Put her on hold for 15 more minutes and then said that I refused the procedure. How is it possible that I refused if she was poking and poking me. That is not a refusal of service that is a decline of abuse. Now, several emails later without any resolution. ***** tried to call on our behalf earlier but could not get through either. The only line that answered is billing but can't assist. They say call back and select option 2 and then option 2 again. They gladly took my co-pay before services but never rendered them.

      In August 2022, I went to this office for an ultrasound, I paid $100.00, and an Asian woman did the exam; she did say that she needed the previous images to give me the result; I asked to email, fax, or something, and she did say it needed to be dropped off by hand only, like in ****. So I dropped the images at their office, and they gave me the report. They did it wrong; they did put the left side for my lump being the right side, the correct one.In my medical appointment, the doctor requested the correction of the results, and they did the change; they put the right side without even reviewing if it was my exam because the lumps location is also wrong.I did send emails, I spoke with *****, and I left several voicemails because I want my money back, I think the only important thing for this business is the money, not the patient's welfare. So, I have not received a callback or anything. So, I have to go to another place to get the correct exam and results.

      Good morning *********************  Thank you for your feedback on your experience with us.  I sincerely apologize for any frustration you've encountered through your ***************. I do see you called in to schedule an appointment on 7/22 for a bilateral breast ultrasound.  The notes from that call document that the Akumin scheduler advised that you of the need to bring priors prior to the appointment- we were able to pull the call and verify this as well. It appears you were only scheduled for a bilateral breast ultrasound but was also ordered to have a screening mammo. Was there a particular reason the mammogram wasn't performed? The out-of-pocket insurance deductible/copay was verified as $100.  Your report was read on 8/22 with reference to both b****** indicating "no suspicious solid or cystic mass, areas of architectural distortion or areas of abnormal shadowing in either breast." These findings account for both sides.  Specific mention was then made to the left, in which the Radiologist found the cyst.  On 8/25 when your priors were brought in, the radiologist completed an addendum to compare with priors. The findings still stood, and it referenced that the cyst was not there originally.  Lastly the final addendum was made as requested to specifically state right breast - the Radiologist reiterated that the right breast was accounted for on the original report when stating "both breasts" and "either breast." The ultrasound report is valid and true to the scan performed and as a result, there will be no refund made for this exam.  I do believe however, the additional study you need to have done is the mammogram - which was originally ordered and never performed.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The frustration I've encountered through my journey with you, is not only $100.00 it's time and stress. I scheduled an appointment on 7/22 for a BILATERAL breast ultrasound, AND I DID PAY FOR IT out-of-pocket insurance as you guys well said deductible/copay was verified as $100.  Your report was read on 8/22 with reference to both b****** indicating with the wrong measurements and the wrong sides, and you guys still don't have accountability for your actions, what if I needed a surgery that would have been done in the wrong side, have you realize that this is about a person that needs the correct results?.  So if mention was then made to the left, in which the Radiologist found the cyst, so let me tell you that the biggest cyst that needs treatment is on the right side.  So in conclusion the ultrasound report is absolute invalid and false since I had to go to another facility called Tower Radiologist to perform a right exam and I had to pay again because I don't trust you guys any ***** as a result I need the refund made for this exam.  I do believe however, that you guys are trying to make excuses, so please review doctor ******* observation and comments as well since you guys keep avoiding responsibility.
