      It has been 13 days of mri, and my doctor has not received the results. My mother also had a sonogram 7 days ago, and her doctor does not have the results yet. This is unacceptable. They are disorganized and apparently, do not understand the importance of a medical facility being quick, thorough and providing radiology reports to physicians in a timely manner. Will not visit Akumin again.

      The absolute worst place to get a CT scan. If you want to wait 3 weeks for a pre authorization that wasnt even necessary because my insurance doesnt require preauthorizations then go here. They do not listen to you when you tell them that you dont need a pre authorization. I finally got fed up with waiting that I called them, the insurance company and the pre authorization company so they could all get on the line and talk through it together. They cancelled 4 appointments, some even the same day. I took off work and moved my schedule around so I could accommodate their terrible service. The schedulers are lazy and dont want to look for appointments at multiple facilities. Just the worst

      This place is a disaster. They are so disorganized and rude. I cannot believe we bring children here. No one has any answers to questions pertaining to their medical records. They hang up on you and do not call back. They cut you off in the middle of explaining what you need. Absolute trash.

      I had a diagnostic mammo and ultrasound in January 2023 at the office in Clearwater, FL. First, and least important, the ultrasound tech missed some images, so when i was driving home, I was asked to turn around so she could complete the exam.
      From that I needed 2 biopsies. One type of biopsy was not able to be done at Akumin, so i scheduled the other. one I ran all over Tampa, looking for a facility to perform both tests at the same time, and finally found one. I needed a hard copy of the CD and requested one to be picked up at the St Pete office. Not only didn't they have it ready, it took about an hour to burn one
      I picked up the CD and brought it to North Tampa (about a 40 minute drive) only to be told that it was a BLANK CD.
      Next, I called Akumin to cancel my biopsy. Then i was told that i was scheduled for 2 biopsies....after 2 more phone calls, I discovered that one of the biopsies that was scheduled WAS NOT THE TYPE THAT WAS ORDERED BY MY DOCTOR!!! How many mistakes can you make with just one patient??? Can you imagine if I had gone in there and had a biopsy that wasn't even the test I was supposed to have?
      The real kicker is that my family (all radiologists) run the biggest practice on Long Island, so I'm very well aquainted with the procedures and processes of this business, and most importantly how to treat a patient who is afraid that there is a bigger problem.
      So a summation:
      1. The tech didn't complete the ultrasound and I had to be called back to the office while driving home
      2. The requested CD was not only not ready, but not even burned onto the CD while i waited an hour
      3. There were 2 biopsies needed. Akumin cannot to a stereotactic biopsy, so I only scheduled the other one. When I called to cancel, I found out that Akumin scheduled a biopsy that wasn't even ordered!!!!
      4, You cannot speak to a biopsy scheduler, and that may have solved these problems.
      5. Akumin showed almost no empathy for their "patient"

      Run away as fast as you can. They lose paperwork and appointments. You get different answers to the same question from different representatives.After 2 times, I demanded to speak to a supervisor. He took my whole medical history and set another appointment at a different location. He assured me all was in order and I just had to arrive with photo Id and insurance card. I had some difficulty locating the facility as the word Akumin is not on building and repeated phone calls to get directions were met with a repetition of address rather than directions.One person even admitted they did not know the area because they were overseas.I finally found the facility after an hour of wasted time and lots of gas.I went in and filled out the medical history form( same questions as asked on the phone). I was then given a cupful of something to drink that they said was needed before they hooked up the Ive. I completed the drink and was told I would be going in in 45 minutes. About 20 minutes later, the tech came out and said it was their policy not to do CT Scan with contrast on anyone who has an iodine allergy. I explained that the doctor had premeditated me and I had had a CT Scan before with premeds. She still refused. Why was I given the cup to drink if they were not going to do the scan to begin with?

      Horrible experience!!! Will never go to Akumin again. In 2021, I went to the Akumin Coral Springs on University Drive and they were Great. Unfortunately, I needed an ultrasound instead of just a Mammogram this year. Well, long story short - Akumin Royal Palm argued with my Dr and made them change the script to be Diagnostic instead of Annual Preventative without my knowledge (but I have it documented via emails) and after missing work twice (like so many other complaints I've read) I finally received my tests at this location... but now that it was performed as Diagnostic, my insurance can't cover the $400 bill. I have submitted an Appeal and my insurance is trying to reach Akumin but their billing department doesn't return calls until you have left them an average of 4 messages. Fingers crossed they do the right thing and fix this billing error...??? Update: Dec 20, 2022 - Akumin doesn't even respond to insurance letters or requests. Update: Jan 31, 2023 - Akumin manipulated my Dr to change the prescription (which I have email documentation between my Dr office and Akumin) and now insurance can't pay for the procedure because Akumin refuses to change it back to what my Dr submitted originally which would have been covered by my insurance. Now I owe $400 for my annual Mammogram and will never use any Akumin again or recommend them.

      Appointments are canceled when your sitting in their Lobby waiting to be seen, and they don't tell you. Their machines seldom work. The offices are dirty. The employees are rude.

      This company overcharged me for a scan and refuses to refund my money. I have called since March of 2022 multiple times. Most times i am unable to speak to anyone. On the two occasions i spoke to a person, I was told they are working on it. I have emailed the billing department and received no response.

      I had an US of the abdomen for which I was waiting over 2 weeks for results , unfortunately my clinic had to call them to get the results , and it showed the results were completed just not uploaded to patients portal or sent to the clinic. They just very irresponsible and their lack of caring makes it worst , this is why they deserve 0 , also they cancel appointments for patients and fail to provide service to patients

      Akumin of ************** has rude and disrespectful employee name ******* that doesnt know how to address the patients she talks as though shes doing the patients. I will never visit this location again being 10mins late I was grilled as though I was hours late, went on to tell me it will be a 2hr wait and if I didnt want to wait I can go somewhere else. Very horrible and disrespectful this isnt the job for her.
