On 3/30/2023, my daughter paid $530.35 for 6 hours of driving lessons. The agency has scheduled and canceled multiple appointments without consulting her availability. I have sent numerous emails requesting to be contacted and asking for lessons to begin. The latest indicated they were unable to meet any reasonable time frame (greater than 2-3 months) to have her first lesson. On 5/24/2023, when the agency began asking her to change her work schedule to accommodate their availability we requested a FULL refund. The company has not responded. My daughter paid a significant amount of money. She is on the Autism spectrum and I feel they are taking advantage of the circumstances. My son and neighbor used the company a few years ago and had no issues. Something has gone terribly askew with the company. We want my daughter's money back since they are unable to provide the services she paid for. The time to begin driving was 2 months ago for her since I am starting a new job and she needs to be able to drive herself to/from work only. I have all of the email exchanges saved to show our due diligence. I told them I start a new job on 6/26 and they replied specifically there is no availability before 6/26. Then I investigate further and see numerous others have paid money to the company and have not received lessons either. This seems to have been occurring for 7 months or more. apparently the company is filing for chapter 11 and going bankrupt
they did not stop taking customers even though they cannot provide any service
i believe i was scammed

On June 13, 2022, I paid $492.96 for my child to take private classroom drivers education courses at the Pinellas Park, FL location. I drove my son every week to take these courses. However, for the last course in August 2022 the instructor named **** ****** resigned and there was nobody available to teach the course. I was told we had to wait until a certified instructor was available to teach the course before my son can take the last class. An instructor named ******* ****** was available to teach the course on September 22, 2022. However, my son contracted Covid and so I had to reschedule the class. After he recovered and I tried to schedule the course with *******, I was told that she resigned. Afterwards, I got in touch with the manager **** ****** and he told me I had to wait until another certified instructor was available to teach the course. In October 2022 I called the main number to All Florida Safety Institute numerous times to follow up. Each time I called I was told that I have to wait for a certified instructor to become available. After calling multiple times I finally realized they're never going to find an instructor to complete this course. I'd like a full refund of $492.96 since the course was never completed. If I can't get a full refund, then I want a partial refund for the last course. There's no point in completing the last course at this time because it's been almost a year since he's taken the course.Initial Complaint

On August 26, 2022, we signed our 15-year-old son up for driving lessons. We purchased the 10-hour lesson plan for a total of $665.54. This plan was supposed to consist of 5 2-hour driving lessons to prepare him for his DMV driving test and boost his confidence.
A 2-hour lesson was conducted on October 26, 2022 and another on November 4, 2022. November 11 & 12, 2022, appointments were scheduled but then canceled because the instructor, **** *********, was sick. These appointments along with one for December 3, 2022, were never rescheduled nor honored. Repeated calls to the business went unanswered. Voicemails and emails were not responded to. The link to reschedule the appointments took us to an unusable calendar page.

I enrolled my daughter into Florida Safety Institution driving lessons and paid upfront, $581.30. Each lesson were supposed to be 2hours. The first lesson was today from 3-5pm. ******* ***** showed up in the student driver vehicle and said they would return in two hours. The lesson ended after an hour and a half. My daughter reported that ******* yelled at her and essentially bullied her when she did something wrong (mind you this is the first time my daughter drove). The majority of the lesson ******* drove with the windows down not speaking to my daughter at all. My daughter may have drove 30 minutes out of the 2 hours at best. By the time ******* returned my daughter to me (a half hour early) my daughter was near tears. She said he wanted to end the lesson early, but there was no lesson. He essentially allowed my daughter to drive 30 minutes and then he drove her around for an hour. My daughter even said she felt scared at one point. This is not okay. I don’t know where they find that instructor be he is not appropriate. They did not provide the service that was promised and they cheated me out of my money. Your daughter's experience is unacceptable described and will be investigated. All of our cars have interior and exterior cameras and gps units. I am rejecting this response because: Again, when I attempted to contact the Lake Mary office, I was hung up on 3 times. I was told a manager would call and they never did. They attempted to change the schedule of a lesson that had already taken place which is fraud. My daughter had such a poor experience with the instructor and she only did about 30 minutes of the actual driving. You did not fulfill you end of our contractual ageement the very first lesson. My daughter has PTSD from the experience she had with your instructor and it makes her even more nervous to drive. I am a licensed attorney for the state of Florida and I demand a full refund for your breach of contract and you are lucky I am not filing suit for the stress and harm you instructor caused my daughter. Your instructor put her in a situation where she was in fear. Your company has not been responsive to any of my complaints or tried to fix the issue other than you offer more lessons. She never had a complete first lesson. I had done my research on your company and your are in the midst of a bankruptcy and you have a record of either not responding to consumers, not showing up, or not offering good instructors. I want a full refund. Your company is a scam and they don’t actually teacher driver, they just put their students in fear.

I paid 418.60 in September 2022 for 6 hours of driving lessons. We scheduled the first 2 lessons and had no issues. When I went to schedule the remaining 2 lessons, his instructor said he was no longer working for the company. So I went online to schedule and was unable to. I scheduled a road test for 12/28/22 from 9-9:30am for the St.Pete/Pinellas Park location for my son to get his driver's license. I paid in full the $61.30 ($58.95 Road Test fee plus an additional $2.35 Credit Card Processing Fee) on 12/18/23 when I scheduled the test. I originally scheduled for the Lutz location and since not hearing from the company as the appointment approached, I contact the company which a woman told me that location had been closed for months but she was able to schedule me the next day at the St. Pete/Pinellas Park location. I received automated confirmations and arrived at the school location prior to our appointment time. We waited at the front door of the location until 11:30am and no one showed up to work and I did not receive any notification of any delays or cancellations. in fact, the woman who worked at the business next door said there is rarely anyone there at the location and she often sees families show up and walk away because of no one is there. Since the appointment time I have called, left voicemail messages, emailed from my personal email and emailed through the link in their Student portal with no response. This has been going on for almost two months with several attempts with no response from the business. Since then, I have been able to get my son the road test needed to obtain his driver's license. Back in August, I purchased the 4-hour package for my kid and she has only received 2 hours of instruction. I get an automated message via email that employees have been furloughed until further notice. I'd like a refund of my remaining lessons.Business Response

We
cannot begin to explain how disappointed we are that your experience has not
gone as you expected. We completely
understand your frustration, after nearly eight years of providing lifesaving
driving instruction and license testing, we have had several circumstances
beyond our control that have driven our customer service to be sub-par in many
areas the remainder of 2022. As Our Summer schedule became overbooked with
self-booking, and we were unable to staff and handle the communication needed.
With constant parent-student scheduling changes the ability to manage our
instructor schedules became overwhelming While we were able to serve 1000’s of
new students every month and have continued to attempt to provide lifesaving driver
training to everyone that wanted it several hundred others have not had the
training they expected in a timely fashion. As we began our new process to
correct this after the summer the two storms negated effort we had and our plan
to make a quick catch-up correction was derailed.
We
hope everyone understands we are not walking away from our parents and students,
and we are intent on providing complete driving instruction and/or compensation
as we are allowed. We have served Florida for 8 years and sincerely hope that
our last half of 2022 does not define us as we will stay true to our mission
and continue to provide the best in driving education there is. We know a
portion of our clients have been inconvenienced by the effect combination of
these natural disasters, the economy and the long-term effects of covid. We are
determined to correct the issues and we can only apologize for the
inconvenience it has been.
Because
of our current statewide company structure this issue has blead over into areas
that do not have the same issues. Committing to a full course correction in
September, our efforts were derailed a result of the two hurricanes and created
a situation we were not prepared for. This situation started a massive rescheduling
effort in the impacted areas accompanied by a nearly two-week of lost revenue
and staff shortages with a significant portion of our team seasonal employees.
It has
become extraordinarily difficult for us to maintain the proper levels of
customer service each of you & your families deserve with the tidal wave of
rescheduling from fall as well as the seasonal nature of our business. To
better serve all our students we have petitioned for a subchapter 5
reorganization and a change in leadership across the company. Stemming back to COVID,
issues like this were compounded by our current economic situation and a delay
in distribution of funds we counted on have put us in this very difficult
situation. We are committed to continuing our mission to save lives
on the road. We are revamping our entire organization to continue to provide
the best in driving education, testing and customer service!
We
are temporarily reducing the amount of active testing locations across the
state, shifting availability to our regional hub in the area until all buffers
are restored and we can safely return to our prior operational levels. We willmaintain driving lesson services in all areas we currently service. We
appreciate your patience as we undergo this massive transformation.
What
does this mean for you?
To execute the needed changes for us to continue providing the best driver education possible, we will be starting a fresh set of scheduling beginning in March 2023. This means all existing lesson schedules will likely change. All our current driving instructors are booked out completely through most of January and well into February. Please keep in mind that students under 18 are required to hold their learner’s permit for a full calendar year after obtaining their permit, or until their 18th birthday. We will be working hard to make sure we can service everyone in a timely manner based on date of enrollment.
Currently enrolled students will be given priority scheduling opportunities to secure their ideal schedules. Over the coming weeks our scheduling team will be reaching out to every customer individually via e-mail and phone to work out these schedules. With the limited number of staff we currently have, it is taking us far longer to reach each customer than normal and we need some time to sort out the logistics. Again, we would appreciate your patience while we will get to you, we are diligently working to ensure we do not overlook any students.
To be fair and service the enrollments in the order we received them, please avoid calling into the school. Our scheduling team needs to make outbound calls and cannot reach everyone with the number of requests coming in. You can reach your regional scheduling team at the emails located at the end of this email.
Customers that would prefer to not wait for the best driver training will be eligible for full refunds and/or prorated refunds if partial programs have already begun. This policy only applies to customers that have purchased between August and December 2022.A claim form will need to be submitted of which the understanding is these refunds can only be completed upon our receipt of the ERC funding due from the IRS. Based on this process we will ensure every student gets the full value of their purchase. Testing and test practices are not included as we have hub offices in every area that provide these services and can handle the scheduling for those.
Please note we are cognizant of the inconvenience and effect of the delays, however, to ensure everyone gets 100% of their value one way or the other this is the only solution that allows that to happen. We will still be servicing license testing appointments and lessons, complaints and poor reviews will only further delay the process as we cannot remain true to our commitment to you. Please be patient with us, we are doing everything in our power to right our current situation for every student.
