I rarely write public takedowns, but my recent ordeal with Rooms To Go deserves a bright, flashing warning sign for anyone considering giving them a dime. Here’s the short version: if you value your sanity, your schedule, and basic human decency, stay away!
A Comedy of Errors (Except We Weren’t Laughing)
Timeline What Actually Happened
May 28: I bought furniture for a new apartment, scheduling delivery for move-in day, June 20 (a Friday) — convenient, right?
June 18: I called twice to remind them the building’s service elevator was only booked for 4 p.m.
June 20, 7 a.m.: They showed up anyway — nine hours early, couldn’t use the elevator, and simply left.
June 20–23: We spent four hours on the phone, shuffled between clueless reps. It took three business days just to “unlock” the order in their mystical routing software.
June 25: Delivery finally arrives: dining table is damaged, the “modular” sofa doesn’t fit, and the cocktail table is the wrong color.
Now: The replacement process is a month-long scavenger hunt. Damage claims must be emailed to a separate “vendor team” that replies whenever they feel like it. The new sofa? Arriving in a month. Two girls slept on the floor for five nights — Rooms To Go’s response: shrug.
Why You Should Run, Not Walk, Away
1. Customer Care Is an Oxymoron: Expect a never-ending phone maze where each rep transfers you to the next circle of customer-service purgatory.
2. Logistics Straight Out of a Cartoon: A delivery window of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. means: “We’ll show up whenever we feel like it, and if it’s wrong, that’s your problem.”
3. Quality? What Quality?: Damaged goods, mismatched colors, “modular” pieces that won’t fit through a standard doorway — followed by a month-long wait for replacements.
4. Zero Accountability: No compensation, no proactive updates, no apology fit for the chaos they cause. You do the chasing; they do the ghosting.

Purchased a bed from rooms to go wasn’t exactly what I paid for. Asked them to come out to adjust it. They would not come out to adjust it. I’ve been fighting this case fighting them for almost a year now and they still won’t do anything so be careful when you buy anything from Room To Go make sure you get everything in writingRooms To Go

I order a queen size bedroom set the delivers guys
Left the boxes in the living room. I paid $179.99 for delivery and assembled they state it was peace’s missing and need to call the and get a refund.
Like for $150 and to sign
They stated that I rejected bed assembly which was lie. I have call customer care over 3xs a day since the date for someone come back assemble. Call out of work no one showed up trying to do my self it’s missing screws to put the bed together. This has been an horrible experience not alone a living room full of boxes they supposed to haul away. Asked for a full refund they they have someone out rejected what I requested.Rooms To Go

Terrible furniture and customer service! We bought a $2500 sectional that has been replaced twice and is now broken again and they refuse to repair or replace it even though we have a 3 year warranty and have only had it for 2 years.Rooms To Go

This is the second time using Rooms To Go and this will be the last! They seriously need to invest in a better 3rd party delivery platform. You purchase the furniture with them, they utilize ** **** for delivery, who utilized a SMALLER company that actually delivers your company. Its typically a ********* system with 2-4 family members driving/ assembling your furniture. My delivery on June 14th was HORRIBLE. When I called customer service, their response was I could deny the delivery and opt for another day. I pushed to speak to a supervisor who took my complaint and started a claim for the damages. You then have to wait to hear from ** ****, who allows the company they used to fix the problem. So now youre left working with the people that broke items at your home. Im currently in the middle of a claim and the delivery company is taking ZERO accountability and ** **** is telling me I have to wait until Monday to speak to the agent assigned to my claim - someone Ive never heard from NOR knew their name. Made purchases twice from Rooms to go and both times something either came incomplete or broken! This issue needs to be resolved. The delivery team isnt the problem its either the workers who package the items and dont care or the whole company that are incompetent in taking care of orders. Terrible customer service. This journey started when I went into a store to purchase bedroom furniture. The sales rep *** ******* was very pushy. Each time I would try to go look at furniture she would state "no, no come look here. I know what you like!" I began to notice that she was showcasing the most expensive items in the showroom. When I finally made my purchase instead of placing the order for 1 king bed and 1 queen bed as I asked she purchased it for 2 king beds. When the furniture arrived it would not fit in my room. The delivery guys did not put the furniture in the correct rooms either (after I explained to them what went where) The delivery guy then told me "you dont listen" Needless to say that did not end well. I called the store back. The manager was nice but did nothing to rectify the situation. I asked them to pick up all of the furniture that I had purchased. They set a delivery date and time for pick up. The delivery guys showed up early and I did not hear them knock (because they were early) I had to call customer service. The lady i spoke too was quite argumentative as well. I will be taking further action against rooms to go. I will never purchase anything from Rooms To Go again. Horrible service all the way around. The worst customer service and experience I have ever had .... anywhere. Should be shut down permanently. Further action is coming!Rooms To Go

Anybody can receive the title of Manager(leader) but where there's no empathy shown, leadership skills displayed, or customer satisfaction produced, will equate to complete failure in a business. Visited a Rooms To Go store in ********, ** today. Purchased a Stars Wars lamp that my grandson admired on a previous visit. At least 4 signs stated Star Wars accessories were 40% off. The manager of the store would not honor the sale price stating they had been lazy and had not removed the signs. Should not have even purchased lamp since instead of approximately $60, the lamp was about $100. Very disappointed with the service in this store. Would love to give a zero star rating!!!Rooms To Go

We are about to have our 3rd delivery of same couch with this last one likely an issue of torn leather as delivery persons assembled on concrete driveway without any protection of furniture as assembled. Its frustrating as we just want to finalize and enjoy use of furniture.Rooms To Go
