I am profoundly dissatisfied with a recent interaction with American Power and Gas. On a recent morning at 10:07am, I received an unsolicited call from a representative (I believe his name was ******) that can only be described as unprofessional, disrespectful, and profoundly inappropriate. From the moment I declined interest in a rate lock following my three-month contract, the representative displayed shocking behavior. He repeatedly interrupted me when I attempted to speak; refused my clear request to be removed from your call list; adopted a condescending tone, repeatedly stating that I "clearly did not understand" what was being offered; commanded me to "let him talk" when I attempted to respond; continued to dismiss my informed decision with patronizing remarks, and insisted on "explaining" despite my clear comprehension. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, the representative refused to connect me and would not provide his name. His unprofessional response that he "would be paid regardless" demonstrates a concerning lack of customer service ethics. Most egregiously, he deliberately spoke over me to complete his sales pitch before abruptly terminating the call. The implication that I couldn't possibly understand basic rate information despite clearly articulating my knowledge was insulting and gendered in nature. Being repeatedly silenced, talked over, and told what I do and don't understand is unacceptable treatment for any customer, but especially reflects problematic attitudes toward women's competence. This encounter represents the most negative customer service experience I have ever had. I chose to work with American Power and Gas for a specific three-month contract with full awareness of the terms. To be treated with such disrespect on an unsolicited call is beyond unacceptable.Business Response

This company contacted me about offering lower rates compared to my rates directly with the electric company. The classic bait and switch now I'm paying double the rates and for literally nothing. They charge me double and then give back 25% of that and I can't get that money back. So they charge me for nothing. Literally nothing. Instead of saving money they are scamming people and don't answer the phones when you call them. I want out of their program and I know it's highly unlikely but I'd love to get my money back since no service was provided. Worst case I will file a case with the attorney general against them for being a harmful scam.Business Response

This company refuses to stop calling me. I unfortunately signed up for their service, and as soon as I did I was called 5+ times per day every single day asking if I wanted to add more services to my account. They call so frequently it goes through my do not disturb setting on my phone. I have emailed, picked up the calls, and tried to call them on their own to be removed from their promotional lists. I told them if they called again I would go with a different provider. They did call again, so I cancelled my service with them. Despite not being a customer and asking to be removed from their list, I am still getting phone calls.Business Response

The month of January and February I was charged ****** for supplier fees. I called them to cancel and they claimed they did only to be charged again. I called and said they could only reimburse me the 51 dollars which doesn't even cover the charge. I payed it last month but to be charged again is ridiculous. They refused to let me speak to a manager. I was told by ******* that he could answer any questions I had. And then come to find out I am being charged on my gas bill too.Business Response

I signed up for electric services at $0.04790 but was billed $0.08369. Shortly after signing up for services on the **** website, I received confirmation from American Power at the higher rate. I called them to notify them of the mistake and was told that the price was correct in their system and that I would be billed the lower, correct price. However I was not. I have called and emailed the company multiple times in an attempt to resolve the issue, but they continue to charge me the higher rate. At this time, I ask that they credit me for the overpayment that has been made to date and cancel the service.Business Response

Dear *** or Madam,
Ms. **** has provided a copy of her bill for review. After analyzing the details, we outlined how PECOs billing format has been causing confusion for customers who have more than one supplier within the same billing period. Specifically, PECO is not displaying the charges from the second (new) supplier on the bill, leading to misunderstandings about the total charges.
We sent our findings to ******* and she has confirmed receipt, she will review. Our records confirm that she was correctly billed at $0.0479 from 1/8/25 1/30/25.
As we have provided clarity on the billing and our records confirm accurate charges, we consider this case closed at this time.

I have had several occurrences where *** has increased my rates for electric and gas over this year amounting to about $1000 more then I should be charged. This has been a terrible experience during an incredibly difficult time with the economy. I recently spoke with a ******* ******* who said they would help with this last issue where my Gas bill went from about $75 to about $500 with not a huge increase of usage to justify this leap in cost. ******* confirmed he would have this fixed and adjust and signed me back up with electric since I left because of issues in the past. ******* hasnt returned any of my calls and no one has been able to help. I have called and submitted requests through the website and no one can help.Business Response

Today we have received 12+ phone calls from ************ caller ID as AP&G, back and forth between our main phone line and our fax line. The male caller with an Indian accent continuously asks for the business owner to change power companies and will not accept no for an answer. I gave him 30 seconds and told him I was not interested and please not call again, but he just kept talking so I hung up. After another 3 calls we just started hanging up, but he calls right back. I just spoke to him again on call 6 and he claims that our call must have dropped and goes right back into his sales pitch. I then just started to put the calls on hold immediately or hang up, but the calls keep coming. Apparently he gets paid by the call.Business Response

this company is a monster. quit using them two years ago because they raised my electricity rates to a ridiculous amount and now they continually call me from different phone numbers. I am always straight to the point and polite in telling them to put me on the do not call list. they keep calling. multiple times a day. now when they call they are aggressive and downright rude. if they actually record conversations then I would be firing the last gentleman that called me the last time as he literally starting arguing with about my own job! do not ever use this company unless u don't like money and enjoy constant confrontation with people. I do not.Business Response

I have been non stop called by this company for days, sometimes back to back from multiple ********* area phone numbers.
