      I agreed to a fixed rate program from APG in June I believe at ****. As of October my rate was **** November my rate was .15, December .22 and now January .26. This is not a fixed rate. I have tried numerous times over the last month to contact them. I am on hold forever and have to give up because I am at work or their message says if you hang up someone will call the number I have called and this has yet to happen.

      American Power and Gas is a predatory bait and switch company, they attract new customers with discounted prices and then raise those prices well above the going local rate. Once the customer catches on to this and cancels, APP charges a hidden cancellation fee. They do this by hiking up the price beyond reason for the partial billing cycle that you cancel their overpriced electricity. This is a dishonest bait and switch, hit and run scheme exploiting people that are interested in switching their utility supplier to save money. This company is the definition of free market exploitation. This company is quite frankly un-American in their business practice. My story confirming the above statement:American Power and Gas continuously called me until I finally agreed to switch my electricity supplier to them, they offered a discount from my local supplier, so I agreed. I had minor savings for two months, then they hiked the price by 6 cents per KWH above what my local supplier was offering. Once they did this I called and cancelled because it negated any savings I had from the previous two months. The problem is that by the time I got the bill with the hiked price and called to cancel, 8 days had passed into the next billing cycle. I just got the bill for those 8 days and they hiked the bill up to over 13 cents per KWH above what my local supplier is offering to over 23 cents per KWH, my local supplier is charging 10 cents per KWH for comparison. This is a deceptive and hidden cancelation fee and price gouging, this is a scheme to make dishonest money off of people and especially those that cancel their overcharged services. They raised my price so high specifically because I cancelled which on their contract it states there are no cancellation fees. This is a true hidden cancellation fee and breach of their contract.

      Ive been called by this ************** claimed to be the ppl once I found out they was 3rd party I disconnected the call. They still signed me up and I had no idea until I notice my bill had tripple in price up to ******* per month . Which over the last 13 years have never exceeded ****** I spoke with ppl they explained to me that Im paying apg over double they have me in variable rate and you dont need to sign anything for apg to be your supplier. Thats agin I have a problem with. I cant even get them on the phone at apg. To cancel the service that I never even signed up for . Please help .

      We launched a full investigation into this matter. We were unable to substantiate the claims of any agent acting as if they were the utility as well as the customer not reaching our customer service department. The consumer was offered a goodwill refund by our customer service department before this complaint was received on 1/30/23. We have reached out to the customer to gather more information to investigate further as well as provide resolution but have not been able to connect or receive a return call. We have placed this consumer's number on file on our Do Not Call list. If the consumer provides further information we will alert the Bureau promptly.

      My wife, who Im not entirely sure is even authorized on my account, received a call from one of their salespeople 4 days after giving birth, was more or less manipulated and bullied into enrollment by the salesperson misrepresenting the call as a followup action to a previously submitted request. When she got off the phone and realized what transpired we immediately tried to call back and cancel, where she was rudely told to call another number (which nobody answered) then rudely hung up on.

      Ok so we got a letter on friday 13 jan 2023 telling us we had untill thursday jan 12 to cancel an account that was started with American power and gas. We never started an account with American power and gas. I called them asap Friday when I opened my mail to get to the bottom of the whole mess. They told me ok we will cancel we will call you. They never called we called them monday *********. they don't seem to want to cancel This is a huge problem I have five accounts with west penn power american power and gas has helped itself to take over these accounts. my wife and I are sick over this and these people have no right to do this to us. thank you for your help

      I am rejecting this response because: we are waiting for the next billing cycle to make sure WPP does not add fees. Also American power has sent me a recording of the third party that eniciated this whole mess. First of all they gave the wrong address. American power should have caught that 2# wrong contact phone number. 3# the papers or package never arrived in time for us to respond or decline service they arrived one day after deadline smells of a scam. Now West Penn power is taking american powers word over ours that we never sighned up for this. We have to wait till end of billing cycle to see what charges WPP has added. I called on the 13 th of Jan 2023 to straiten this out American power they waited untill 17 of Jan 2023 to acknolage. Now wpp is also using that date 17 jan 2023. Smell of scam again

      American Power & Gas uses extremely aggressive, predatory, and deceptive tactics. We have removed them multiple times as our electric supplier. They have used tactics where they get themselves back on as the energy supplier and then price guage rates in the winter time without notice. They are charging $.21/KW whereas PECO is charging $.07/KW.

      We have continuously received sales calls from this company. First it was a woman named ***** and now it is a woman named *****. Both are equally insufferable, unprofessional, and unnecessarily aggressive with their approach. We have asked them every time they have called to remove us from their calling list and they refuse and, obviously, have not removed us. They won't even listen to our request for the calls to stop and then, when we hang up on them, they try to call right back. They lie and say that the business owner is expecting their call. They said that they can only take us off of their calling list if a decision maker tells them to. I explained that I am a decision maker and she STILL refused. This company seems like a COMPLETE SCAM and, if they hope to get customers from these telephone sales employees they have, they are most likely severely disappointed and would more realistically get a lawsuit before they would get business from any respecting person or business.

We researched numbers associated with this consumer to add them to our internal DNC list. We have also opened an investigation with our vendor to isolate the agent who spoke with this customer and remove them from their post while calls are investigated. The agent has received disciplinary action of an immediate final warning. We sincerely apologize for any frustration our marketing may have caused, and if there is anything further we can assist with, please let us know.

      Previous energy delivery went out of business, was resigned with American **************************** for delivery...My utility bills have tripled. I had canceled after the first ridiculous bill but still am enrolled. Three months later my la bill was $900. I have called multiple times and left messages because there customer service line does not pick up but says to leave message.

      We spoke with this consumer on 9/20/22 and 1/5/23. We also sent an email today, 1/12/23, to provide any missing information that could assist this consumer in having a full picture of her billing with APG. Her accounts were canceled as requested on 9/20/22, and we shared we have not billed past end dates provided by RG&E of 10/5/22 and 10/10/22. We opened a line of communication in the event the customer has more data or information to share, or if she simply had questions. We also processed a refund in the amount of $229.84 on 9/20/22, and explained her utility reported a significant usage increase to APG for the account in question, which contributes to the amount she saw owed. We believe that between the conversations had with our **************** agents on 9/20 and 1/5, along with the email sent today, we have fully addressed this complaint. Should the consumer reach out further, we will update the bureau.

      I did not in speaking or writing agree to switch to this company to provide my power service and over a few months noticed my bill skyrocketed, I could not get ahold of anyone by phone, please help

      I recieved a call with her saying she's calling because my power company asked for them to reach out to me so I can pick a supplier since rates are going up & that I qualify for a rebate program for 25% back yearly. American Power & Gas worker *************************** stated that on my light companies behalf she has been trying to get ahold of me to sign up for a supplier because my current power company is charging me the highest they possibly can & that American Power & Gas has ther lowest rates, saves tons of money, & can get 25% rebate at the end of the year. Absolutely RUDE and they DON'T do business in an ethical way. They use bullying & intimidation. When I told her that I don't know enough & need to educate myself first & talk to my husband before making a decision. She said I'm clearly not thinking right & to give her my husband's phone number so he can make the right decision & save us money. I said absolutely not. The lies & extreme intimidation this company does to try & trick people into signing up should be illegal & not aloud. They 100% bully people & try to trick them into a contract all while making people think they are doing it on behalf of our Current **************************** companies. I can't believe that this is legal or even aloud. Someone needs to stop this company for the harassment & complete misrepresentation of unfair business practices & the lying. What they are doing is illegal & must be stopped. We must protect our uneducated, elderly, & people who don't have commonsense to protect themselves from this bullying business.
