Policy number Sic3204728 1-3 at 10:20am ****** He's checking with accounting. Said they never received proof of insurance. Resent it and verified. Said he would call me to verify payment has been sent. He never called 1-16 ****** $1,472 being sent followed by $7071 to replace damaged shortly after. Provided my email to receive an update as to when the $7071 check will be mailed out which if on the same timeline as reassuring the $1472 check should be this week. Update. Actually got a supervisor on the phone this time. **** the supervisor who is the only **** employed at Slide said she would call me tomorrow that this would be resolved with a check for the full $8543.00. I offered to pay for overnight shipping. They said they needed to get a price and would call me back to arrange. I was not nice as this had been so frustrating. Update. **** never called me back 3-12-25. Called for ****. 10:51 am Call recorded as she has not called me back yet. Lady I was speaking with said she would have her call me once they had an update and that the payment which se stated was being expedited. Update 3-17-35 No one called me back 3-17-25 ****** recorded call Left policy number name and phone number for supervisor **** to call me back. Was instructed she would call back today. Dec 2023, Farmers sent me a letter stating they were no longer providing Homeowner insurance and provided me with the name of another insurance company Slide. Slide sent me a quote far higher than my current policy, so I went to my agent and they found another provide, Security First. I signed all the documents and agreed to purchase the policy from them, effective April 2024 thru April 2025. Jan 2025, my mortgage company informed me after escrow analysis there was a huge shortage in escrow. At this time I discovered Slide, without any documentation or signed documents requested a payment from my mortgage provider. I immediately called Slide and cancelled the policy effective April 2024, received a letter confirming the cancellation. Called and asked for the status of the refund and was told it was mailed on February 18. Called them Feb 26 and was told it was actually mailed February 21, Called Mar 6 and was told I should receive it any day, called Mar 10 and as told the same thing. Mar 17, called and was told they were having problems with postal service delivery refund checks. Ask if they could cancel check and reissue, they said yes, but, it could take several more weeks, asked if they could overnight the check and I would pay for the delivery, they took my cell number and email and was told someone would reach out, I ask when will they reach out, today, tomorrow or next week, they said they didn't know.Business Response

We received a letter from Farmers Insurance that stated they would be leaving the state of Florida and our policy would not be renewed. The letter also stated that we would have the opportunity to migrate the policy to Slide. We then received a letter that stated our policy was extended through May 17 with Farmers Insurance. We had a negative experience with Slide when they purchased St **** a few years back and had no interest in being insured through them, but since we were insured through May 17th, the need to shop for alternative insurance was not immediate. To our surprise, we received a notification from our mortgage company that a payment had been released to Slide January 29, 2025. We immediately called the mortgage company (Mr. ******* to inquire why this was done because we did not authorize a policy with Slide. They stated they received a notice from Slide that we had established a policy with them. We asked for the funds to be pulled back and they said unfortunately, payment was made in bulk and recalling the payment would mean reversing it for many customers and we would need to work with ********************** directly. They tried to make direct contact, but Slide has blocked their number and they are unable to make contact with them. I wouldn't believe this to be the case, but the agent had us on the line so we could hear the message. We called many times (all with one hour plus wait times) and also emailed. They claimed they never received payment. Finally on 2/27/2025, they confirmed payment and stated refund would be mailed on 3/6/2025 (attached). We still have not received this payment. We are looking to apply this payment to new insurance and are seeking the funds due to us. First we didnt authorize this policy, second it should not take 2 months to receive a refund to a policy that we never authorized. We expect immediate refund of payment that was unauthorized. We have no interested in being insured through this company and would never recommend them.Business Response

I have been waiting on my refund after cancelling at the beginning of February. I was told the check was issued on 2/21/2025. It is now 3/17/2025 and still no check. I have made numerous calls during this wait to voice my concern about the status of this check- each time I was told to wait a few more days. The last phone call I was told a supervisor would call me back. No call. This check either was not sent, or is lost. I need this rectified.Business Response

We claimed for a new roof after hurricane ****** damaged our roof in October 2024.Everything seemed to be going well until it came time to release the final check after the roof had been verified finished in January 2025. The dollar amounts changed substantially and each time we tried to speak with someone/ leave messages we didnt get a response. It shouldnt be so difficult to get someone to explain what was going on.On the initial quote from Slide they included an amount of $3099.38 which would also be paid to us after the roof had been code updated. Our policy had been paid in full with an older roof and we had been charged accordingly. Now the roof has been updated and we still have many months left on our policy. We are owed a refund for the code upgraded roof according to the adjuster that came to view our roof and submitted the paperwork. ****** ******* lic#w440045. He no longer works for Slide. This refund that we still do not have and Slide is ignoring ***** in ADDITION to what we recovered financiallly for the roof AFTER our deductible has been taken into account.Business Response

Slide Insurance is holding a substantial amount of money for 2 months with no refund information available to the consumer. My agent filed a formal notice of cancellation on January 7, 2025. I called Slide Insurance **************** on February 4 requesting the status of my refund for $4,247.00. The agent told me that it could take up to a month to process & mail the refund. On March 3, I called again and held on hold 2 times for over an hour each time. On the second call, I chose the option to leave my number and get a return call by 6:30pm that day. I received no return call. I called again on March 4 & held for 1.5 hours. I was told my check was processed on January 29 & should have been mailed on January 31. I told the **************** agent, ***, I had not received my check. I also told her I have **** Informed ********** there is no notice from **** that my check was to be delivered. *** concluded that my refund check was "lost in the mail" & asked me to hold while she requests a replacement. I requested the replacement check be sent overnight. *** said she would put it in the request but there is no guarantee that it will be overnighted. As of today, March 13, I still have not received a refund check. I called **************** again today & after holding for 30 minutes, ********* answered. She reviewed the notes and said there was no indication in her system that the replacement check had been processed. She offered to send a message to her supervisor & the accounting department & call me back when she had an update. As of *** today, March 13, she called me back to say that Accounting does not answer her messages and her supervisor has no additional information & can only send a message to Accounting like she did. In addition, she advised that if I want a check overnighted, I would have to pay the overnight fee to send it ***** or **** Two months and no check! $4,247 is a lot of money that I am paying a fee to borrow until paid off & no help available!Business Response

I canceled this policy on February 4th and have not received my refund for the remaining payment made for the year. I think a month is long enough to process a refund. My agent said they processed it and gave them that amount on the 18th of last month. I still have not received it on the 4th of March.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: So first they claimed the check was mailed on the 18th of February, then they said it was mailed on the 14th of March. I cancelled this policy on the 4th of February and have the email from them that it was processed on the 12th. They are just lying to stall for whatever. March 20th and still no refund.Filed a complaint on the Attorney general's website and have not heard a thing from them either. No wonder these crooks do whatever they want!

Wondering why it doesn't surprise me the low rating? I'm beyond upset with Slide Insurance. I'm trying to follow up on this policy cancellation from October 1ts, 2024. To this date, I haven't received the check with the full refund of my policy and it's been 5 month already.This is unacceptable! I reached out a month ago (February 3rd, 2025) and after almost 1 hour of waiting on the phone for an agent, the answer I got was that the check was sent but I never received it. The agent processed the refund request again and asked me to wait up to a month for the check to arrive. I just reached out again, after a month (March 4th, 2025), because the check is still missing and now, after waiting for another hour, the agent that attended me this time is saying it will escalate my request and that I need to continue waiting while their manager communicates via email with the accounting department, since email is the only way of communication. Is this a joke? Do I have to accept this as an answer while this company plays with almost three thousand dollars they owe me?I demand an immediate rational answer that can explain why I still need to wait to receive my refund after 5 months, while you as an insurance company can cancel any customer's policy immediately if they don't pay it? Why is it that you can take all the time you want to refund the money and leave no chance to delay for the customers? Is that fair?Business Response

We have cancelled a homeowners policy #SIC3275138 with Slide Insurance on 1/16/25, in the amount of $2880.00. The policy was processed through our mortgage to Slide 1/30/25.We still have not received our refund check for $2880.00.Last correspondence was 3/3/25 to have someone in policy services assure us the refund check that has been in processing since 2/18/25 is indeed "in the mail".We should have received our money back at the very least 7 to 10 days after it was canceled.I hope for your assistance in this matter before our mortgage payment is increased.Business Response

Our former insurer left ******* and transitioned everyone to Slide, however, I cancelled the policy with Slide before my previous policy expired (10/31/24) and the Slide policy went into effect. My mortgage company sent the check to Slide in mid October. Slide cashed the check. I called and emailed Slide to cancel (a journey in itself) and they said they would send the refund check. It never came. Consequently, this has resulted in my escrow account being negatively impacted, leading to a significant and unexpected increase in my monthly mortgage payments. Unfortunately, my attempts to resolve this matter with Slide have been met with considerable difficulty, lack of response, or being given the run around ("its processing"). To date, I have made multiple attempts (10+) to contact Slide, including four phone calls and three emails without receiving a substantive response. I have spent, in total, over 2 hours on hold just to be told "its processing." The lack of communication and resolution has become exceedingly frustrating, particularly given that Slide owes me a reimbursement which directly affects my financial obligations to my mortgage company. It is utterly ridiculous that it can take over four months to send a check worth over $6,000.Business Response
