My husband and I want to warn others about Cheap Auto Transport out of *******. They offer a low price to hook you but then there is no follow through. We have lost $190 and have no way to transport our car because they put it on the board and locked it up and refuse to take it down. This company should be shut down for unethical practices. In April of 2022 I reserved a transport for my granddaughter's car from **** to **********. My granddaughter is in recovery from heroin addiction. After I placed this order my granddaughter relapsed and went back to treatment. Since that time I have asked multiple times for my $250 deposit. We are seniors on fixed incomes and the money is sorely missed. I have communicated with ******** multiple times asking for this deposit. At one point in time I was told a manager would contact me but that never happened. At this point in time I think that the car in question may have been sold. Can you please help me?Initial Complaint

I hired this company to transport a car from ******** to **** and was given a price of 250 and I had to put $70 down deposit which I did. The day after the date they were suppose to pick it up they jacked the price up to 500 I asked to refund my money ************************* said he would still no money and then I spoke to ***************** he said he will send it in 20 minutes never happened said he had to send to his accountant and they would take care of it. Sales rep agreed by sending me a txt message to refund $50 upon delivery of the vehicle. Upon further discussion with the sales rep, I agreed he could just send $25. His manager told me it would be sent to my bank account last Saturday which never happened.It's not about the money, it's about the deal that I would have canceled when the original shipper claimed his truck broke down the day after they contacted me wanting to pick up the car a day earlier.I contacted my sales rep and he said not to worry. He found another shipper, but said the rate was $100 more. I agreed to this but advised the sales rep that we would split this increase of $100. He agreed and sent me the txt message that said, "Yes sir sure I will send you back $50 after your car is delivered. From my broker fee of $150." I even have the time stamp on this txt in details.I gave them more than enough time to make good on this refund. I told them that if the refund wasn't in my account by the end of a given day, I eould post a negative review. I kept getting assurances that the money eould be in my account by the end of the day. I was quoted $750 to Ship from SLC to ***. Scheduled the pickup for today, 9/19, 30 mins prior to scheduled pickup rep calls me and says were good to go but the price had almost end doubled to $1450. I canceled and the rep I dealt with proceeded to call me over 35 times and about 50 texts. Rep explained that he would be fired or responsible for the $ they were out due to my canceling. The driver, not this broker, showed up at my house anyway and I had to explain. Even the driver says, yeah these guys seem shady. Absolutely awful service followed by harassment from the agent. On Wednesday, Sept 14, 2022, Cheapautotran a transportation company texted me with a quote to ship my vehicle to another state. The company indicated a quote of $350 which included door-to-door service, all taxes, and fees associated. I spoke with a person that represented this company that explained to me that I needed to put down 150$ on that day and they will pick my car up the very next day and once delivered I would pay $200. The company representative asked me to zelle the money to ***************************** After paying the deposit of $150 the very next day I received another story from ****/****/**** indicating that they could not find a driver for that price and the cost was now 475. I asked Cheapautotrans to refund me my money. I have yet to receive my money back from this company. This company will promise you a very low price and take a deposit from you with a promise to deliver the vehicle for that low price and when they can not they will try and keep your money. **** a Manager at Cheapautotrans promised to return my 150 dollars within 48 hours. After following up he then tells me he has made a deal with another company that delivered my vehicle. The company that I eventually chose to transport my vehicle assured me that they had nothing to do with Cheapautotrans. *** brothers indicated that they were not part of Cheapautotrans but when I called to find out where was my 150 deposit Cheapautotrans stated they delivered my car under *** Brothers. The company Cheapautotrans is a fraud, they are frauding people out of their money giving quotes that they cannot deliver on and when you give them the deposit they are asking for, they claim they cannot fulfill the quote at the price they quoted. The company will then refuse to give back the deposit. Cheapautotrans need to return back my money or I will see them in court! Sorry for the inconvenience first of all, but having looked into the details of this order and all the call recordings, you had booked your order with us to find you a carrier, prices do fluctuate as they aren't even in our control because we only have to find a trucking company for our customer, in your specific case, VIX brothers was the logistic company found to deliver your vehicle, VIX brothers dispatcher **** spoke to you over the phone, confirmed everything and than gave you the services. The services are already given, your vehicle got delivered, ****, the dispatcher of VIX brothers, himself cleared to you over the phone that cheap auto trans had assigned the order to them. We would love to assist you again as your car was safely delivered on the agreed up on price by yourself.

I am rejecting this response because: Cheap Auto Trans is and has committed fraud acting as the transport company as if they are the ones that is going to transport your vehicle. Once they promise you a price and the time they can pick up and deliver after requesting a deposit, they will then have a different story stating that they are now not the transport company and cannot get the price they quoted and deliver on what they promise. They will then tell you who they really are and hold your transport under them act as though they are the ones servicing you when you have asked them for a refund. They are preforming what they call "bait and switch"! I have asked for my money of ****** back and I was promised it will be returned in 24 to 48 hours. They never returned my money indicating they serviced me with *** *************** *** Brothers indicated they have nothing to do with Cheap Auto trans. Cheap Auto Trans held my service so that no one else can service me then acted like they preformed the service. I would like my money back or I will have to take this to another level!.

I contacted this company Cheapautotrans to transport my car from ***** to ************, after they contacted me multiple times within a week stating they had the lowest price and could transport for $590. After looking into several companies ****** reviews I decided to book with Cheapautotrans to ship my car on 8/24/22. I completed a form/contract on their website that stated the date of pick up and the price. It stated I was required to pay a $150 deposit but I had to pay the balance of $440 to the drive at drop off. They never once mentioned they were brokers and acted like they were transporting my car. After I paid the deposit, the employee I was dealing with, ***** started changing the price to higher price points and asking if the drop off date could be changed to later dates stating he was searching for drivers and some wanted more money. He also stated ON the date of pick up, 8/24/22 that if I wanted it on the agreed upon date that I would have to pay more. After they failed to pick my car up on the agreed upon day, requested to increase the price, and eventually asked to change the pick up day, I requested a refund in which they claimed they couldnt do until my complaint was processed in 2-3 days. This is a huge inconvenience as our son needed this car at college and has no transportation to get on campus everyday. I am also out of the $150 deposit they scammed from me. I wish I wouldve looked at the BBB website prior to booking with this company because there are multiple complaints on here of this company scamming others out of their deposit and raising prices without prior warning. This company needs to tell customers upfront they are brokering the transport and will have price fluctuations but instead they are dishonest.Initial Complaint

I sent cheap auto transport a $200 down payment for my 2021 f150 to be transported from ******** to ****** for a total of $1360 invoice number *******. The company made me pay this payment through Zelle which I thought was a red flag but was assured by the company this helps them keep there costs low to customers otherwise I would be charged a credit card transaction fee. The company cancelled on me once and was unable find another driver anywhere near the original quote there for they said they would refund me. After one week, the money was still not refunded therefor I contacted them again. They told me the the request was submitted a week ago and that they would call me back that day with an update. They never called me back. Over a week after the company stating they would refund me I called back again. This time they said the money will eventually be there but refused to let me talk to a manager and would give me no reason as to why it is taking so long. I believe I will never see this money. On July 27th I was told to Zelle money to the company for auto transport by ***********************. **************** assured my money would be refunded if I wasn't satisfied with service without a problem. I sent the money before a confirmation was done. These Guys charged me 100 dollars extra and are not paying me back * They dont respond to my calls anymore * I was agreed upon an amount of 950 dollars for shipping my car from IL to **** I paid 100 upfront on Zelle to Mr * ***** * After that he said me to pay 850 to the driver * When the car came the driver demanded complete 950 and he said he doesnt know about the 100 * He said me I can pay him and they can resolve it later in the week days * Its been months now and Cheap auto trans *** knows everything, but they are making fake excuses * This is a scam company , avoid this company *
