    I am rejecting this response because:

     

    I am writing to reiterate that the account in question is not mine and has been inaccurately reported on my credit profile. While I understand your request for a completed Consumer Identity Theft Affidavit, I would like to highlight that under federal law, consumers have the right to dispute inaccurate or fraudulent information on their credit reports regardless of whether it stems from identity theft.
    According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. 1681i, a consumer reporting agency must conduct a reasonable investigation of any item disputed by a consumer within 30 days of receiving the dispute. If the information is found to be inaccurate or unverifiable, it must be removed or corrected from the credit file.
    Additionally, under FCRA 1681s-2(a), furnishers of information (such as your company) are prohibited from reporting information they know or have reasonable cause to believe is inaccurate. Once a dispute is received by a consumer reporting agency and passed along to the furnisher, you are obligated under FCRA 1681s-2(b) to:
    Conduct an investigation regarding the disputed information;
    Review all relevant information provided by the credit bureau;
    Report the results of the investigation to the credit bureau;
    If the investigation finds the information is inaccurate or incomplete, report the corrected information to all nationwide credit bureaus;
    Promptly modify, delete, or block the reporting of the information if it is found to be inaccurate or unverifiable.
    While I am willing to consider submitting additional documentation, I request that you first initiate a reasonable investigation into the disputed account as required by law. If you are unable to verify the accuracy and ownership of the account in compliance with the ****, you are obligated to remove it from all credit reporting.
    Please confirm that you have initiated this process and let me know the results of your investigation. I reserve the right to file further complaints with the ************************************ (****) and other relevant regulatory bodies.

    I honestly dont get why RENTRECOVERYSOLUTIONS is reporting this debt under my name because I dont owe them anything. I never signed anything with them, and when I asked for a copy of the original application, they didnt even bother to provide it. Its frustrating because this is hurting my credit for no reason, and its just not fair. How can they just put something on my report without any proof?Account No: ***** Amount Disputed: $948
