Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Equifax Credit Report Dispute I am reaching out in urgent need of assistance regarding an ongoing issue with Equifax and their refusal to remove inaccurate public records from my credit report. These recordsboth of which have been fully paid and resolvedcontinue to appear on my credit file, despite confirmation from the collection agency that they have been closed and are no longer on their books.I have made numerous attempts to rectify this matter directly with Equifax, including filing a formal dispute letter. Not only did Equifax ignore my request, but their continued failure to correct my file is actively damaging my financial well-being.Due to Equifaxs negligence, I have faced multiple rejections for credit card applications, preventing me from rebuilding my credit. My wife and I recently applied for a rental property, only to be denied because these public records falsely indicate financial instability. This has created unnecessary stress and hardship as we search for a secure home. Moreover, this situation has limited my ability to qualify for better financial opportunities, from securing competitive loan rates to laying a stable foundation for my familys ********* a paying customer of **********************, I expect them to uphold their obligation to provide accurate credit reporting. Their refusal to act is not only unjust but is causing real, measurable harm to my personal and financial life.I am seeking your immediate intervention to compel Equifax to remove these inaccurate records from my credit file. Please advise on the actions you can take to escalate this matter and ensure the necessary corrections are made without further delay.I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response.Sincerely,***************************

      Hi,

To clarify my complaint with Equifax, I am not filing for another company or person. This complaint is coming from myself about Equifaxs handling on my public records: which is effecting my credit score.

If you are referring to the collection agencies, they no longer have my records on their file and have closed my collections account. ********************** has not yet deleted these records of my account, causing many issues with me to build my credit score.

Hope this information helps you better understand my situation.

      Thank you

I have contacted each of the companies listed, and most were unable to locate any records of me in their systems. Given that these companies do not recognize me as a consumer, it is highly questionable how they could have had a permissible business purpose to access my credit file. As a result, multiple unauthorized hard inquiries now appear on my FICO consumer credit report, all stemming from fraud and identity theft.Attached is my Identity Theft Report, filed with the ************************ (FTC), which provides official documentation confirming the fraudulent nature of these ************ accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) 605B (15 U.S.C. 1681c-2), I am formally requesting that your agency block all information on my credit report resulting from this identity theft. Under federal law, this request must be fulfilled within four (4) business days of receipt. The inquiries listed below were made without my consent, are not associated with any legitimate activity on my part, and are clear indicators of identity theft.

I, ******** ****** ****, am submitting this complaint to formally dispute multiple unauthorized inquiries that appear on my credit report. These inquiries were not initiated or approved by me. I am a victim of identity theft, which occurred as a result of my personal information being compromised in the Equifax Data Breach. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), specifically 15 U.S.C. ?1681c2, Equifax is legally required to block and remove any information related to identity theft once proper documentation is provided. Attached are all necessary documents supporting my claim. I am requesting that these fraudulent inquiries be removed from my credit report without delay.

I am filing this complaint against Equifax and seeking help from BBB and protection of my rights and my credit report. I noticed several hard inquiries on my credit report that I did not authorize. These inquiries have negatively impacted my credit score and are a result of fraudulent activity. I promptly reported this matter to Equifax and requested the removal of these inquiries. Despite providing all necessary documentation and completing the required steps to dispute these fraudulent inquiries, Equifax has failed to remove them from my credit report. This inaction is causing ongoing harm to my creditworthiness and is in direct violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), which mandates that credit reporting agencies must investigate and correct inaccuracies on consumer credit reports. I am requesting that Equifax immediately remove fraud inquires from my report: TRUIST DEALER SERVIC 06.10.2025; ************* FINANC 06.10.2025; DEERFIELD AUTOMOTIVE 06.10.2025

I am rejecting this response because: I checked my credit report and I still see these fraud inquiries on my report and I called Equifax today, they told me they didnt remove fraud inquiries because FTC report is not valid but how it can be invalid if it has been filed on the official website and ************************ verified the number of the report as well. Consumers can generally expect to receive the results of their dispute within 30 days. If the information is found to be inaccurate, their credit report will be updated, generally within about 30 days.
If the result of the investigation finds that the information is accurate, it will remain on their credit report. If they still believe the information is inaccurate or incomplete, and have additional information that can help support their dispute, they can file their dispute again. They will also have the option to provide a brief statement on their credit report summarizing their dispute, which can help explain their situation. Or they could contact the creditor to attempt to resolve the issue.

BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.

BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
