      Equifax is reporting false information on my credit report involving a collection account . After numerous times of disputing it always comes back verified as true Equifax is complicit in aiding LVNV in re aging this account which is illegal they are reporting the open date as May 29, 2020 to keep on my credit report longer the actual date is 8-14-15 . The account is close to the 7 year **** for removal. **************************** account # ******************. *************************** tried to collect the debt on behalf of LVNV on 1-26-17 and LVNV has tried to collect numerous times with no proof that would stand ** in court.This account has been re aged illegally and I want it removed ASAP...image ****is a copy of my Equifax credit report.image **** is a copy of NES debt collector dated 1-26-17

      Since April of 2022, I having been trying to obtain a copy of my credit report from Equifax. I have tried multiple times to request the report over the phone, online, and by mail. Apparently, the information they have does not correspond to me in any way. Security questions seem to imply that they are referring to someone else. Equifax seems to have no interest in serving the public, as I am unable to get in contact with anyone who is willing to resolve this issue.

      A medical collection was placed on my credit file January 2022, and naturally it affected my credit score negatively. When the collection was paid and removed, my credit score did not change and Equifax can give me no explanation as to why there was no score change. Both *********** and Experian scores changed when the collection was paid and removed.

      I'm trying to unfreeze my credit at Equifax. I submitted the requested documentation. I have spent hours on the phone and know persons can even tell me if they received the documentation. I've called repeatedly and always get the same response. They always want me to send documents which I have already sent. I'm now at the mercy of Equifax with no way to resolve the issue.

Listed below are the steps to manage the security freeze. Documents will be required. Please advise the consumer that they *** attach their documents to this BBB complaint and submit through the portal. It is not mandatory to provide the requested information.  However without it, we will not be able to assist the consumer with their concerns.

      Please be advised, in an effort to enhance the security of consumer data, changes to the authentication process before disclosing any information or making any changes to a credit file have taken place. 

      Consumers can still manage their security freeze online via MyEquifax.  However, if the consumer chooses to call in they must either receive a one-time PIN by text message or answer knowledge-based questions to complete authentication.  When receiving a security freeze lift or removal request via mail, consumers must include proof of identity, such a legible photocopy of a valid document that shows your name, current address and complete social security number. Listed below are examples of documents that *** be provided as verification of their identification and current address: Current pay stub or W2 with complete U.S. social security number, valid social security card, Driver's license, rental/lease agreement/house deed, mortgage or bank statement, utility **** for gas, cable or residential telephone ****. 

      Equifax understands the importance of keeping consumers data secure, and continues to look for ways to improve the consumer experience while enhancing data security. 

      Placing, lifting and removing a security freeze is free. They can place, temporarily lift, or permanently remove a security freeze on their Equifax credit report in several ways.
       
      Online, by creating a myEquifax.com account. They can check the status of their security freeze through their myEquifax account as well.
      By phone. Call us at **************. Theyll be required to give certain information to verify their identity. Theyll also have the option to receive a one-time PIN by text message or answer questions based on information in their Equifax credit report for identity verification. 
      By mail.  If they are requesting to temporarily lift or permanently remove a security freeze via mail, theyll need to provide documents to validate their identity and address.  After we receive the request and verify your identity, they will receive confirmation.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I have provided the requested documentation to Equifax. Each time I communicate with Equifax I am told I they have no record of me and I must submit documentation verifying identity. Again, I have submitted this documentation multiple times. I also know Equifax has records of me because I was notified in 2017 when they had their data breach. Now Equifax says they have no records and have not provided a useful means to resolve this problem. I have spent 406 minutes on phone calls, $50 on faxes and certified mail and still no one can provide a reasonable answer or solution.

      Continuing to send letters and faxes is not solving the problem. Equifax needs to provide me with direct communication with someone that can help fix this problem.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The lender informed me that the response from Equifax to a credit check indicates my information was frozen. When I call Equifax I am told they do not have any records so there is nothing to unfreeze.

      The problem is more than the generic unfreeze. I need a number to contact Equifax and speak to someone that understands what is going on. 

      As previously mentioned, I have spent many hours on the phone trying fix this. The number you provided is the very number I have been calling with no luck.

      Also, I have submitted multiple copies of the required documents via certified mail as well as by fax. I have also uploaded my DL to the BBB portal for you to view.

      Again, I call the number you provided. Every time I get the same response I do not exist in the Equifax database. I am asking to be able to speak with someone who knows how to fix this. The people at the generic help number you keep providing are not capable of helping. The online service only works if your information is in the database, hence that is useless for me.

      Equifax is reporting a closed accounts with credit usage . This is not accurate. The accounts are paid with zero balance . Iam requesting these accounts be removed. All accounts were closed at my request. Iam now requesting the accounts to be removed The credit usage is false. There is no activity on the account.
