First I would like say I have been a Loyal customer since ****. My complaint is with Havertys because they use a 3rd party Guardman Furniture Protection Plan after the store warranty is up. I first reached out to Guardman on April 26, 2023 for my sectional recliner sofa that was over $5000.00. I received the email back on May 1, 2023 thanking me for submitting my claim (********). The technician came out maybe two weeks after that only to tell me that it cannot be repaired. The emailed also stated that there is a delay ***** days from the service date. I called back to Guardman and they informed me that they have to order the part from Harvertys and Harvertys will mail the part to me then I have to call them back to send out a technician. Now I started calling ********* first but they push me back to Guardman because the sectional was no longer under warranty with them but I have to get the part from them. We are now in July tomorrow this is ridiculous. I dont know why big business take advantage of hard working people who pay there bills on time and do the right thing to the best of their abilities and still get screwed over.I wanted to write corporate office so they can know how a loyal customer get treated. I havent been a to recline my left arm recliner since April.As of today I have still not received the part from Havertys and I have not heard from Guardman.Business Response

My wife and I bought a sectional a few years back and were told by the sales person to get the insurance that would cover pet damage. We have tried now 2x to get Guardsman to cover damage and they declined the 1st time saying we waited to long to file and are not responding to our latest claim. We have submitted countless times and even called. They said they would follow up and its now been many weeks. You can only talk to a rep on Monday and Tuesday. One time they were closed for a meeting. Another time they had to transfer me to another office. Just a runaround. I blame Haverty's for selling such a product.Business Response

Waited 3 months for furniture delivery. One month after delivery recliner stopped working, called for repair and person diagnosed problem over the phone and have to order parts. been waiting a month for parts now im told another month. paid for extended warranty but does not cover manufacture defects. Extended warranty only covers accidents in home.Business Response

We purchased furniture in January 2022 that was delivered in February 2022, at that time we also purchased a Guardsman warranty package. In October 2022, I contacted Havertys regarding tearing on a square corner and they had me file a guardsman which was denied because they deemed it to be a manufacturing issue and workmanship issue. I then contacted Havertys again because the couch was less than 1 years old and was still within their warranty. On December 5th, I was told that a replacement part was ordered (see ticket *******). I have contacted Havertys multiple times and have received rude responses from their customer service team telling me that I have had given it enough time in March, May, and now June. It has been more than 6 months and the couch has not been repaired nor has Havertys maintained any type of contact. I have been reasonable bit this is unacceptable to be going on 7+ months trying to resolve a faulty product issue. I want the couch replaced at this point because it does not seem that they care about repairing it.Business Response

I MADE TWO PURCHASES FROM HAVERTYS FURNITURE IN THE AMOUNT TOTALING $5227.49 ON 4/8/23; ORDER# ****-0723937 AND ORDER# ****-0723948. MY FURNITURE WAS DELIVERED ON 4/18/23 WITHOUT THE HARDWARE TO MAKE THE **** BED PURCHASED SAFE FOR MY TODDLER TO SLEEP IN. THE **** BED SITS ABOUT 4+ FEET OFF THE ***** AND THE RAILINGS THAT ARE NEEDED TO KEEP MY TODDLER FROM FAILING TO THE GROUND HAVE NOT BEEN INSTALLED. IT HAS BEEN 52 DAYS SINCE MY FURNITURE WAS DELIVERED AND THE ONLY THING HAVERTYS HAS DONE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN TO SEND A TECH OUT 4 TIMES TO MY HOME WITHOUT THE CORRECT HARDWARE TO PUT THE RAILINGS ON THE **** BED. MY 2 YEAR OLD'S SAFETY IS OF THE UTMOST PRIORITY AND HAVERTY'S DOES NOT SEEMED CONCERNED. THE CORPORATE OFFICE HAS BEEN CONTACTED THREE TIMES ABOUT MY ISSUE TO NO AVAIL. I WANT A FULL REFUND FOR MY PURCHASE IN THE AMOUNT OF $5227.49 FROM HAVERTYS AND I WILL NOT BE A PATRON OF THIS BUSINESS IN THE FUTURE.Business Response

Love seat has been repaired and now the seat has nails sticking out of the repaired area. I have a protection plan, which I paid extra for. I have to have the Loveseat replaced New not repaired again. The Haverty Furniture Co. Is not a good company to do business with. I wish I would have never shopped there. They are giving me so much trouble for furniture that I paid for.Business Response

12/22/2022 i purchased a leather reclining love seat and sofa from Haverty's Furniture, I received the items on 12/27/2022, in January I noticed that there was damage to the seam area of the recling love seat console area, I contacted the local store where I purchased the item and was told I had to call Guardsman Repair since we had purchased the protection plan, I made contact with the Guardsman and they instructed me to file a claim on-line and to submit pictures, which I complied with, I continued to call and was unabale to reach anyone at Guardsman, about Mar 1st I received an email that they were reviewing the claim, on April 14th 2023, a repairman from a 3rd aprty repair company thru Guardsman came to assess the damage, once he looked at it he "STATED OH THIS IS NOT REPAIRABLE I HAVE TO SUBMIT A TICKET FOR REPLACEMENT", I contacted the customer service **** and spoke to ***** a Supv in the **************** and she stated she would ask to escalet the issue, as of today I called to get an update and no one is giving any answers or a way for resolution, at this time frame I want the item picked up and all my funds returned I feel this is Consumer abuse when you make the calls and claims within the specified 30 return Policy and have no resolution. I am an Active Duty Spouse and feel that we have gotten no where. This Insurance Repair Company has a D Rating and their is no customer service contact via phone, they never respond to emails either, the Store is telling me to call Guardsmans that they cannot help me at this point.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have yet to speak to someone about having this resolved, I received a call from customer service that they were trying to find out where my claim status is, I received an email from Guardsman that they would offer me $475.00 abd keep the furniture as is, (mind you i paid $4000.00) this not a reasonable solution and does not solve the issue. At this time i would like to have the items retrieved and all my funds returned. I am considering on filing a dispute with my CC company since I am not getting a proper resolution. I have also written a letter to the ******* ********************** about this complaint and treatment of ******************* Members as a consumer. The staff have been dismissive and not attempting to help mitigate the situation to get it resolved.

I purchased the furniture and within a month the damage happened and it was said to be wear a tear. There is no way this should have happened in a month I had only made one payment. I would like this repaired or replaced it also has some threads coming loose and the sectional was $6000.00.Business Response

I purchased a firm TEMPUR-PROADAPT firm mattress Twin, XL in 2020 for $2,299 it came with an 8 year warranty. Ticket number ************ the phone order is under was ************. That is now changed to ************ When it malfunctioned I contacted Havertys in May and was referred to ***************** Who in turn sent me to Tempur pedic customer service.************** or ************) They referred me to a web address to file a claim. (warranty.tempurpedic.com)I finished the 5 items they requested and had to re do photos several times. I dealt with ********** (temper-Pedic) I was assigned ticket number ******. She denied the warranty request stating the sag I documented was less than 3/4 of an inch. It is in fact a half inch plus or minus on the sag. The firmness is the issue not the depth of a sag. it no longer supports me properly. She made a special offer to replace it giving me a 75% discount credit. This would switch the warranty. I dealt with Haverty"s purchased from ********'s with the understanding the warranty was in force if the mattress malfunctioned. Which after 3 years it has. The argument they make is over a sag being 1/4 of an inch short and they will not replace it. They offered to replace it with a 75& credit. Then changed the terms of the warranty. My argument is I purchased a firm mattress! Which it is not.I want what I paid for and I went it replaced in a reasonable time not months.I purchased a firm mattress for a bad back. You can push on the mattress and detect the area that is not firm. I did not purchase it from Tempur -Pedic it came from Haverty's.They are not servicing what they sell, and I bought.Business Response

I purchased a leather couch on November 19, 2022. The couch was contemporary and looked great in the showroom. I paid about 3000$ with tax and delivery. I looked at multiple stores but a family member referred me to them. The furniture looks quality in the show room. I have seen multiple complaints when pulling Havertys up. I asked them to send a rep for my complaints. The cushions will not stay on and slip which is annoying. The seats on the couch are sinking and look really old. The girl that helped me pick it out saw it the other day and told me to return it. It needs a good Velcro and the rest I assume is mine to enjoy. I would advise anyone not to purchase at Havertys. Their merchandise is subpar. I had a leather couch from Macys that lasted 8 years without any noticeable issuesBusiness Response
