1 starWorst hotel experience I have ever had. I traveled for over 30 years in my career and never had I been treated so unprofessionally and rudely as this place. If you have a reservation - cancel it immediately and go someplace else-period!I had a confirmed reservation for a family wedding event. I called this hotel directly 3 times to confirm and update our stay. I had a confirmation number and the printed emails too. ONLY to arrive and be told that THEY - the local management cancelled our room. I even have a saved voice mail from this hotel from the night before our arrival specifically stating that our room would NOT be cancelled. We traveled from North Dakota to North ******** to be with family that we maybe see once a year. And we were the only family that had to stay in another hotel. We missed out on conversation and fellowship that can never be replaced. And we were not compensated, yet, for any of THEIR misconduct!DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!Review fromCecilia C

1 starState of this hotel on September 2 through September 4. On September 3 I woke up with a stopped up nose and a very dry cough we then proceeded to get up and move around notice that my socks were wet when I stepped on the carpet near the ** in the window and called the front desk they moved his rooms to a higher floor where there was also water damage showing on the walls Woke up with what I thought was a rash and it ended up being bedbug bites and I did go to the doctor on September 7 to verify that and verify that I was exposed to mold and mildew and they did verify that I have the documents for that I have now been battling with Crown Plaza Midtown on **************** to reimburse me for my damages or my loss or my room stay and they have not yet done it. ******* the hotel manager is supposed to call me back multiple times now and has never called me back. He has never returned an email and the claims department has never reached out to me to talk to me about what happened to hear my side of the story or any of that I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Theyre not honest. All they do is lie.Review fromShane S

1 star*** ************* needs to have at least a two-factor authentication process when using Hotel Points. Someone changed my e-mail address and password to that account on September 26, 2024 and used my points in that account for an Apple Gift Card. I called the IHG ************* to notify them that I did not make those changes and it took them over 24 hours to resolve that issue. Then on September 30, 2024 I received an e-mail saying that someone changed my e-mail address and phone number to my IHG ************* account. Called them again and told them that I did NOT make those changes and they were able to change that information back to what I need it to be. When a company has someone's store credits or points in this case there needs to be a more secure way to keep those points from being used by unauthorized people or scammers.Review fromFrancis D

1 starI am a past employee from this employer I put in my resignation on September 5, 2024. This is a hostile work environment bringing up the issues of a lot of break-ins and people breaking into peoples cars stealing thousands of items I have brought this to the attention of the Manager ****** ******, she has refused to make any resolution for the customers as well with retaliating against me by minimizing my hours, and reducing my **************************************************************************************************************************************** a paycheck today on payday as well, threatening me and have not received my paycheck. I have to pay rent. I have to pay chemotherapy for my mother. This is unprofessional if employees are no longer wanted at the establishment. This is not the way to go about it. I need my paycheck and I have not been paid by my employer.Review fromElijah F

1 starI called the Holiday Inn Express ********* in advance to ask for a, 'Quiet Room'. I defined this as away from elevators, ice machines, etc. The ** ******** ******* promised the hotel was quiet. When I walked into the elevator I noticed it was filthy, when I got to my room the lampshade was torn almost the whole way off. I called the front desk to mention both and was told maintenance would come which never happened. I woke up to doors repeatedly slamming and a metallic shaking sound at 7:30am. I called the front desk to report it, nothing changed. The noise continued for several hours as I tossed trying to sleep. I finally came down the filthy elevator to follow up with ******* at the front desk. He said he forgot that the Laundry Chute was next to me. Every time towels/sheets needed to go down to the laundry meant a room door opening/shutting and a metal door opening/shutting. I had to run to several meetings and ******* said he could move me to a, 'Quiet Room' at the other end of the hallway he said was available. He said he was working until 11:00pm and that I could move any time until he left. I came back to the hotel exhausted around 8:00pm. ******* said he made a mistake and there were no rooms available except the one I had. Why didn't he call me to tell me sooner? The last thing I wanted to do was to look for a hotel at this hour. When I told him I needed to check out and go to another hotel he asked if I wanted some points. I asked for monetary compensation but was denied. When I asked why he offered me points, ******* raised one finger, pressed his lips, looked down and went to the back office. This was the most childish thing I had ever seen.******* refused to check me out and said it was too late for them to flip the room and make a profit. I loaded all of my stuff on the cart and brought it down the filthy elevator and left. When I called ** ******** ******* he thought I was still in the hotel and charged me for 2 nights!Review fromJin K

1 starI have been a loyal IHG member for over three years. Its pretty straight forward, you reserve a hotel through the app, greet the front, stay, and check out. For the most part, my experience at Holiday Inn has always been great. As far as accommodations and quality of hotel, it is limited and probably the reasons why most professionals will opt for either Marriot or Hilton for business. I was traveling with family and wanted to stay at a better hotel. Unfortunately, their better hotel is either Kimpton or in Atlanta a hotel called Indigo. For the first time, I was treated like a POS. I was told, it is Atlanta and I was unsure what that meant. I emailed the ** and he offered me 25k points Not at all what I was looking for. I was billed incorrectly, asked to use another card, was told under their breath I dont have time for this ?? then when I got upset by their comment, I was kicked out of the property at 11pm. You reach the support line to share your concerns and nada ******** You get what you get. You have ****************************, and then this establishment. I am relieved and would be a lifelong critic towards IHG. Myself, my team, my family, will never stay at another IHG again. To the **** ****, you earn 4.5 million annually Thats amazing. I suppose everyone would not be important if I earned 4.5 million as well. You wont get another ***** out of me.Review fromJohn G

1 starMy in-laws came to ******* area to visit us. We called before coming over to hotel for handicap room. We were told they have one available. We made sure to ask if you can roll into the shower they said yes. Well, we got to the room, and it had bathtub and kids' height toilet also no bars on the side of the toilet only on the back of the toilet. I cannot believe the staff did not even know what rooms have what in them. Also, most of the staff was just hanging out and having good time talking to each other than working. I cannot believe how bad the rooms were for handicap person.Review fromDoug K

1 starI am filing this complaint to bring to light the corrupt and unethical behavior of the Holiday Inn Express I5 *********, part of the *** Group. My recent experience at this property was nothing short of a nightmare, and ***'s handling of the situation has been appalling. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this hotel does not operate with integrity. They engaged in deceptive practices, violating consumer protection laws with a classic bait-and-switch tactic. Instead of addressing these serious issues, *** Group has done nothing but sweep the facts under the rug. They consistently refer back to the corrupt hotel manager, who has no regard for the truth or customer service, rather than taking a hard look at the evidence I providedphotos and receipts that clearly document the issues.*** Group talks a big game about customer service, but in reality, they offer none. They protect their own interests, ignoring the legal and ethical obligations they have to their customers. This is not just a one-time incidentit's a pattern of behavior that *** seems content to allow.I strongly urge others to reconsider staying at any *** Group property. Their actions demonstrate a complete lack of accountability and respect for their customers. ***'s willingness to ignore corrupt practices at their hotels is unacceptable, and I hope this complaint serves as a warning to others.I demand a full refund for my stay and a public acknowledgment of the wrongdoing I experienced. Anything less would be an endorsement of the unethical and illegal behavior that *** Group is currently turning a blind eye to.Review fromMeidan K

1 star*************************************** at University, an *** Hotel Holiday Inn **************** ****************************, an *** Hotel Please be cautious to avoid an experience like ours.We called the Holiday Inn Express at (number found on ******* to book a room. Upon arrival, the receptionist informed us that no reservation had been made and that the hotel was fully booked. We are two parents with an 8-year-old child and a 2-year-old baby. After standing outside for 45 minutes calling the reservation line, we discovered that our reservation had been made at a different hotel, ********************************* at **********, without our knowledge. When we arrived at *****************, the first impression was terrible: the hotel was rundown, and the reception area smelled like sewage.I spent another 1 hour and 40 minutes on the phone with the reservation line trying to resolve the issue, only to be told that we needed to deal with the hotel directly. When I returned to the hotel, the receptionist was speaking with the *** representative and the Candlewood Suites manager. As I began explaining our situation, the manager started screaming at me, saying she didnt care about my story and that I needed to pay a cancellation fee. Despite explaining that it wasnt our fault, she continued to yell and create a hostile environment.Feeling unsafe, I asked the receptionist to do her best to resolve the issue. She mentioned a possible $50 fee, which I agreed to just to leave. We ended up spending the entire day on the streets and had to find another hotel in the middle of the night. Two days later, I saw a charge for the full amount. After spending another 2 hours on the phone with ***, no one could help. I ended up paying for ***s mistake, and there was no one to talk to for resolution. Please be very careful and avoid becoming a victim like us!Review fromCathy A

1 starMy spouse only stayed here for one night on July 31st. He checked out on August 1st . Now this hotel is charging him for 2 nights stay plus a pending charge for August 3rd. How dare you over charge him. He came down for a memorial service for his nephew. Its not easy to get by on our income as it is. What youre doing is disrespectful and dishonest! Never again will my family stay here!
