I keep receiving a bill stating that I owe from a last year hospitalization. I have not sent any money as i have paid this off. I called the hospital and they gave me a number for the hospitalist group that they say i owe money too. They say i have a zero balance with them. I have got this before as well. I have never paid it , as i have always paid through the hospital. If this group is sending it to me, more than likely they send it to others who might be paying. The hospital billing ***** said that they have never heard of them before . -car accident 5/18/2022 went to emergency room and bill was $645 -auto-owners insurance sent a check on 6/23/2023 -check was cleared 8/1/2023 by DLP **************** Physician Practices LLC I am continuing to receive bills from Payment MD for $645, the latest bill printed on January 31, 2024 I have spoken with supervisors every month (last call was 12/12/24) to explain they have been paid and the check cleared and they are harassing me for payment. After a year of arguing with this company that we did not owe the money stated they finally looked into the file and found that the bill was paid by the insurance company and that they in fact owed us money. I have now been trying to collect that money for 3 months and all that I get is a run around. They will not allow us to speak to a supervisor. Im not even sure where this came from. I just checked my credit and this is on there for $857 dollars and there is no way when I have had insurance the whole time. I havent been anywhere without any insurance. This is affecting my credit and everything. Im not paying something that I dont have to pay because insurance should have been billed.Initial Complaint

On May 20th 2023 I entered the ** at MUSC. I was seen by *************************, MD. I was not happy with the care I received. However, I provided my insurance information and was seen. The bill was ****** with my insurance ****** was discounted off/not paid and remaining balance was ****** in which my insurance company submitted payment for. Electronic funds payment. Now my insurance company has informed paymentsMD representative with myself on a 3 way call that they have been paid and provided all payment info. I have continued to be harassed about full payment and receiving bills. Everytime I call them: I am hung up on, refused a supervisor once and told that i need to update my insurance. My insurance has been updated. The emergency room has processed their claim with the same insurance and have received payment. I was told by one representative that the "back office" has took look into this and would not know the resolution timeframe. I have my claim as proof. PaymentsMD number is ************. I received a notification on my credit report that a doctor account had been added from this company over the summer. On July 18, 2023 the account was opened but I was in ************ on that date with my family. I have reached out through my credit report as well. I had insurance at the time and I did not go to the doctor in July. I have submitted pictures from July 18, 2023 and the previous day. Paymentsmd is trying to collect from me a bill I do not owe. I have spoke with them several times and provided the information of insurance to them. I have went a step further and contacted my insurance company who is in the process of paying the bill. I have told paymentsmd several times to stop the harassing text messages, emails and letters. I have done everything in my power to get them paid for a bill that I do not owe.Business Response

i went to kennestone for arm injury and they tested me for heart attack. Then they say my part of bill is $1200 while *************** say i owed $800. Received a suspicious text to pay a medical bill of $645. Website not associated with the hospital or medical center. Called the hospital and billing office and they are not aware of this company or phone number. I have never received a formal bill in the mail. I have no idea how they got my information. According to our records, ********************* was treated at Atrium Health Navicent on June 27, 2022. PaymentsMD is the name of the billing company who bills for Central ******* Emergency Group. Central ******* Emergency Group is the name of the Physicians Group of which the physician who treated ********************* on June 27, 2022, is employed with through Atrium Health Navicent. As a result, the charge in question is not fraudulent and is substantiated as determined by the treatment ********************* received. The ** physicians charge is dependent diagnosis, procedure, and level of care to treat patients. When visiting the emergency room, patients are subject to receive separate bills from separate contracted physicians to include laboratory, pathology, radiology, or other services.
Per our billing methods, a claim was filed to *********************** insurance carrier Tricare; however, the balance in the amount of $645.00 was denied as the payer requires additional information from the patient before the claim can be properly adjudicated.

Payment MD continues to send me bill notices even though the bill was paid within days of first receipt.They have no proof that I paid the bill even though the check has cleared the bank.
