    Legal action should be taken by consumers dealing with a similar issue. The business website does not allow consumers to cancel the 7-day free trial. Instead you must email a customer service email. I started a free trial on 3/24/23. I contacted customer service email after the businesss website kept giving a generic error email on 3/28/23. I received a reply, asking for more information. I replied immediately and then nothing. My subscription still hasnt been cancelled.This appears to be a scheme deployed by the organization to steal money from consumers.

    We are sorry to hear you experienced difficulties in trying to cancel your 7 day free trial.  In order to help you further, I will need to gather some additional information.  I tried to find an existing ticket in our system under your email address in this complaint, however I could not find a ticket.  Was there possibly a different email address that you created your the case with?  It would also be helpful to know if you signed up using the Weather Channel iOS mobile app, the Weather Channel ******* mobile app, the website, or if this was a TV streaming subscription.  This information will enable us to locate your subscription an help resolve the issue.

    Hi *****,

    Thank you for the additional information and screenshots of the previous conversations you have had with The Weather Group Streaming Support Team.  The streaming services are handled by The Weather Group,  which is a separate team from The Weather Company that handles the mobile apps and weather.com site.  I am part of The Weather Company and unfortunately can not resolve your issue.  However, I  will be engaging and will escalate to The Weather Group team to review and respond to this complaint.

    I signed up for a free trial of the Weather Channel app through the Roku and when it expired, it attempted to bill for a one year membership. The expiration date on my credit card was incorrect and it couldn't charge me. When I attempted to sign into the app, it crashes and will not allow me to access the service cause I assume, since the payment didn't go through, it won't now work. However, when I go and try to sign back up for the service and have them bill me in order to receive access, it acts like I already have a paid membership and it will not let me sign up. I contacted the Weather Channel via email (the only method I can find to contact them) and they indicated they would escalate the situation, however since the escalation, I received no response. I contacted them another couple times with still no response. It now has been over a month and I still have not received any responses. I would like to use their service and believe they just need to reset my email and allow me to sign up again, however, they are unwilling to assist. They are now ignoring me and I have no way to escalate further or launch a formal complaint directly with the Weather Channel regarding my treatment. It is unacceptable that I am being blown off when I just want to sign up, pay and receive their service on my TV.
