I agreed to Orkin pesto control services on 9/16/2022. What I liked about Orkin is that they stated that they go above and beyond: that anyone can lay down traps and spray but Orkin was different. I verified the Money Back Guarantee with the technician who arrived at our house to complete the services. We paid for a years worth of service in full to get a 5% discount. The total price was $596.13. Orkin completed their first service by laying glue traps and spraying the exterior of our house. The next day we found a mouse in our house with our own trap. I immediately called Orkin to discuss the finding and my concerns: not only did we catch a mouse with our own trap, Orkin did something my husband could have done. At this point we were well within the cancellation window. I was told the manager would call me back in about 3 days. I did not receive a call from Orkin and called again and was reassured that someone would call me back. Once again, no call. I then emailed the customer care department with my complaints and that no one would call me back. I again heard nothing. I then disputed the charge with my credit card company who said there was insufficient evidence to reverse the charge. I explained that evidence was lacking because Orkin has ghosted me. Orkin has charged me another $40 for services I havent (and dont care to) receive. I called the customer care line again and was told the manager would call me. I explained that I had been told this before; the representative told me she couldnt do anything more. I want my money back from Orkin and to be completely done with them. No one from Orkin will communicate with me. Please help!Business Response

In the original response from Orkin there was a reference that an additional refund of $161 would be granted. This is the only refund I have received. With the help of BBB, I spoke with an Orkin employee by the name of **** who assured me all monies would be returned. A another Orkin employee from the local branch left a message on my voicemail. I called him back and left a voicemail requesting callback and never got one. I also tried calling **** back without any success either. I waited for additional refunds and never they never came.
In my last communication with BBB I was given two options of either I was satisfied or I was unsatisfied. I chose satisfied, simply because I was grateful to have gotten some money back but I had explained that I was still waiting on additional funds to be returned that never came. My case was subsequently closed.
Below is documentation noting only the single refund. I am still expecting the remaining $473.50 to be refunded.

Orkin came & "provided" a pest control service at my home. There was no notification sent, which usually comes in the form of an email, ************* call. As well as there usually being something left at my home showing they were there if I am not home. None of the above were done. They call me two months later to tell me I have a balance. However I did not want the service anymore & had I known they were coming would have cancelled the entire account, as I did not ever have a contract. Due to me receiving no notification I had no idea they were coming to cancel the service. Also there was no proof that the service was ever even done. When I spoke with the lady who called to tell me I had a balance she said her job was to protect the ************* was showing the service was provided & that they were switching systems at that time which is why there were no notifications. I explained that I don't feel as though I should be charged for a service that there was no proof of being done. My card was on file to be used upon my authorization, NOT on auto pay, a few days later the amount just gets pulled from my account with out my authorization. When I called about the balance being removed from my account she stated that it was from the service two months prior that I owed so they just ran it. Orkin sales rep inspected our attic, where bat f**** was present, its connected to our 1 year old daughters room, he explained the hazard nature of bat **************** said that people do not consider the ********** gets over everything.He sold us on their ability to not only rid the house of bats but to also remove the old insulation, clean the attic & install new.His wording was taking the attic down to the studs & thoroughly clean it to ensure that all of the bat urine is cleaned & not affecting our air quality.He boasted on their guarantee that We are not satisfied until you are satisfied.The crew came 9/13 and sealed up all the entry points for the bats and put an extraction device in.The crew was scheduled to come on Friday, 9/30 in the morning and showed up hours late that afternoon.After they were done, there was insulation: all over our driveway, through the house, all over my 1 year old's room coating even the curtains and in our bathroom.The attic was not cleaned as agreed upon.I called our sales rep and he agreed this was not acceptable & not what we signed up for.He admitted that he has received other complaints about this same crew.He promised they would take care of it.A manager came that Friday, 10/07 to "fully inspect" and she walked up the stairs, shined her flashlight into the attic for five seconds and claimed the she knew the crew did what they said & apologized for the mess as she has received other complaints about his crew.I called corporate several times & filed a complaint on their website & have gotten nowhere. I had a friend who used to work in attics come and look and he found old insulation still there and agreed that they did not do what they said they did. I will pay for the first trip of $1,080 but I don't think I should have to pay for the second trip since the work was so poorly executed & not completed as I will now have to hire someone else to do the job correctly. Had inspection done, was told we have bats. We did agree to bat removal service. They said it would be all day job. (took them an hour) was told they sealed attic (we can still see light coming in) they said it cus they used clear seal. asked where they bat box was They amited there is not one, Had other people inspect attic they said there is no sign of bats. the droping were obviously old. (they crumbled like dust when squeezed.) pictures of the ONLY 2 bats they physical seen were on the outside of the screen. so there proof of bats is old p*** and bats on outside of my screen. ******** came and inspected said well there were obviosly here at one time. Ok with out bat box where are they since you sealed the attic? I feel like its one lie after another. they didn't care they missed an appointment. Account ********. There were at least THREE separate instances when Orkin was supposed to provide outside spraying of our property and the appt never happened. First time they canceled with little to no notice,second and third time the appts were canceled again with no reason provided.These cancellations were not due to weather as all three days were clear of rain. As I write this, Orkin has also promised to come today, 10/6,and we were notified via email yesterday that it is now rescheduled for 10/26. Service has been unreliable, inconsistent, and not to the standard promised and PAID for.Most recently, in Sept, we called Orkin to request pest control service. We noticed mouse droppings and wanted to resolve this issue right away to prevent any chance of an infestation.An Orkin rep came to our home and to put it lightly, seemed to have little to no knowledge on pest control.The rep ******* some type of repellent in the bedrooms where the droppings were seen and placed small white glue traps in several places. The rep did not have any bait and stated they had run out.Upon leaving, the rep provided a handful of more traps. At no point were rooms inspected for holes and/or possible entryways where mice could have entered.No mention of plugging holes either. Fast forward to a week and a half later.No mice have been caught in ANY of the traps however we continued to see more mouse droppings. We call Orkin again so they can return to follow up and try to assist further AND bring bait to treat inside and exterior of our home. The request and specific notes regarding the poor service during the initial visit and what was required during the follow up were clearly outlined. i.e. bait interior/exterior, look for/plug holes, provide traps that work, send a rep with proficient knowledge. Orkin has once again canceled our appt & has yet to make a return visit. We have made our own purchases of traps and a mouse was caught the next day!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:An email was sent to me by the owner of buiding adress ************************** in which the owner states clearly that orkin technician who came over here for eradication said that he was not permitted in, that is a COMPLETE LIE, i was here and there was another witness, orkin tech said that he cant perform the job and need to reschedule. orkin response to this complaint was not any of what happened in which landlord accused me in not letting orking perform the job needed. i dont know WHO LIES? , might be the landlord who tries to falsify the truth in order to get me evicted.

Good afternoon! ************** was completed by *****. Today I came by the property at ***************************. I was able to gain access to unit number seven and was able to inspect and treat for German roaches. During my inspection, I found that the tenant was not prepared for a liquid treatment. ****** claims that instructions were not given for him on how to prepare. due to not being prepared for liquid treatment, I resorted to using dust product, gel bait, and IGR pucks. During my inspection of unit seven, I did find live activity. I found one adult German cockroach behind the microwave, and one adult German cockroach underneath the bathroom sink. I also found multiple food items on the kitchen, floor, and living room floor. Grease buildup was found around behind the kitchen cabinets, kitchen, walls, and floors. Food debris, crumbs were found on the kitchen floors as well. Sanitizing these areas will definitely help reduce activity. I was able to apply a gel bait in the kitchen cabinet, hinges, and bathroom hinges. I also dusted areas behind the appliances, such as microwave and coffee warmer . I left multiple monitoring boards with dates on them to track down activity during my follow up visit scheduled on October 24 between 10 and 12
1st Follow up was conducted on 10/24/22 @ 10:35AM
Good morning! ************** was completed by ***********Today I came by the property and was able to follow up with unit number six and seven. I was able to make entry into unit number seven. Upon inspection of unit number seven I was able to inspect the monitor boards left behind during the last visit. Upon inspecting the monitor boards I found two dead roaches in the monitor board, near the bed, and two dead roaches in a monitor underneath the room refrigerator. During my inspection , unit number seven was not prepared for me to treat the kitchen cabinets as food items were still found inside the cabinets. I was able to apply a crack and crevice liquid treatment around the kitchen, baseboards, and living room baseboards were accessible.
2nd Follow up was conducted on 11/2/22 @ 11:20AM
Unit 7- found 2 roaches on one of the monitors. Used gel bait. No live activity of roaches were found at the moment of service.
Next follow up is scheduled for 11/15/22, 10-12AM.

I have a services plan with Orkin pest control. In addition to that I contacted them for an exclusion because of sounds coming from my ceiling. A service a representative **** came out to my premises on April 15, 2022 and provided me with a quote and a promise of exclusion for my entire house . He stated once the exclusion is complete this will prevent anything from getting inside my house and i will not be hearing anymore noises in my ceiling. He charged me $3807.00 which I paid in full. A technician came to my house subsequently where he was supposed to complete the exclusion. He said he did some seal up and told me I might still hear some activities 2-3 weeks after. He said thats how long it will take for whatever is in my ceiling to die and there are no more entry points for anything to get in. The sound did continue, and I called within 3 weeks to notify the office or this. Another tech came out and installed a cone to prevent bats from entering. That did not work. I called several times after and 2 more technicians came out and told me I need to pay more money for additional services. The noise is still in my ceiling to this day, and I have reached out to the office directly as well as customer care several times. I was told a manager as well as the regional manager will reach out to me to get this rectified. I sent a letter to their office with the details and requested a refund. I got no response. At this point I want a full refund; this is causing me severe stress and causing me sleepless nights. Its been about 6 months now and orkin failed to provide a service I paid for and wont contact me nor refund me. I want a refund at this time.Business Response

Orkin seems to be using deceitful practices to ******* money out of homeowners. Dec-Jan was enrolled in homeowners program never informed I was enrolled in an addition. Instead given a list of covered items. April-requested *********** treatment for yard was informed it was covered. Was raining and told next month. Same day of request was told by technician I was enrolled in the "mosquito" addition a That he could not properly treat for and asked if I would like it removed from my plan. I agreed to have it removed. Comes in June and tells me he can treat my yard for an additional $67. I asked why I was told it was covered and with no explanation told me it wasn't. July- termite inspector comes and I ask him about the flea and tick and he informs me that it was bundled in with the mosquito plan the technician failed to tell me were combined. Called and spoke with Orkin who told me to settle it with the tech. I spoke with him and confronted him about it. He gave no reason why he failed to tell me they were bundled when he convinced me to have it removed. He chalked it up as a misunderstanding and told me he would treat my yard since I had been paying for the plan when I requested the service. 3 weeks after treatment I have a $68 charge that I never authorized nor was informed I would need to pay. Not only are they charging peoples accounts without consent they are have extremely deceitful business practices.Business Response

I pay for service monthly. They advertise on their website that if you call before noon, you will get same day service. I called around 11am for service, and was told no one could help me until the next day. That is not the service they advertise or that I have been conned into paying for. I have bugs completely covering my house, to the point where I cannot open windows, and they cannot get me in until afternoon of the next day. That is NOT what they advertise or that I pay for. All of your advertising says same day service if you call before noon. I called before noon. I was told that same day service was not available. They gave me available time slots the following afternoon, of which I chose one. That is NOT what I wanted. I wanted the same day service that is advertised. Your advertisement is a lie. I will accept the waived fee for October as an apology for your failure to deliver the service that you advertised and I pay for.
