In 01/2024 I was contacted by sales rep ******** from an inquiry about an Black impala that was listed on site. I was told by the salesman that he still had it and that he also has over 45 more options on the lot. I asked again for reassurance due to the fact that the lot was 1hr30 mins from where I lived and the cost of Uber to get there was $60. He reassured me that he indeed had over 45 cars for me to choose from. When I arrived at the dealer there were only about 10 cars on the lot. Filling out the application and my information was checked. I was told that there were 2 levels of cars that I could pick, which was a level 5 or 6. As he took me outside to show me my options , there were only 2 that were on that level that I could get. Out of the 2 cars that were available which had only enough gas to go to the light and turn around which wasn't far. I chose the ****** Versa due to the other making a weird noise when turned on. I got approved for the car and the following week the transmission on the car went out. They stated that the car would get fixed. About 2 weeks later, I received a call stating that a request to fix the car was denied and I had to put in a request to receive another vehicle as a mechanical trade for the same price of the first car. The request was approved days later. I was called to the dealership and was given a few options to choose from, stating that those were the only options on my approved level. I didn't like the options and requested to walk around the lot myself and checked for myself. Indeed there were more options that they did not offer me. I requested a different vehicle than they showed that was showing the same level. I was approved for the car which was a ****** Murano. Here I am 2 months later and I have encountered the same problem. The car cut off in the middle of the expressway. The car has been down for 1 month and in their possession and they are still attempting to collect car payments or the car will not get fixed.Business Response

There is nothing being done. My account manager is never in office. When I call and try to speak with someone else, everyone is always busy. You guys still have possession of my car and I have not been called for pick up. I will be up there this week because you guys are steady trying to charge my card for a vehicle that I haven't operated in almost 2 months now. Money will not be given unless in person and the car/keys are in my possession. This is ridiculous no one should have to experience this. My final payment for my 2004 Pontiac Vibe was made on April 5th, 2024. I was advised when I called that I had one more payment to make on April 12th, 2024. When I called on April 14th to find out why I hadn't been charged, ***** informed me that I had made the final payment the week prior and the title would be mailed out shortly. On April 26th, 2024 the car was totaled. I was advised a week later that I would need the title for insurance, and called on May 9th to find out why I hadn't received the title, and why my a late payment of over 30 days was listed on my credit. I was informed that the title should be on the way and they would remove the negative remarks on my credit.I have called multiple times a week since, and have been offered excuses such as the title clerk is on holiday, my account manager is not in the office, or, even more baffling, that this is a common issue for credit reports to be wrong and that when I dispute it, they will be sure to remove it.I am absolutely astounded that a business would operate I this manner regularly, and can't even get the settlement for my paid off car to deal with the insurance company. I have asked for the title, and more lately requested a lien release so that I could obtain a replacement title on my own. I have not been able to get an answer either way, and rarely receive the callback I am promised.Business Response

I got inhoused financed on April 27, 2024. I told them my down payment was 1500$. So they put me in a 2013 **** escape. I've had issues since day one. And I've now paid 1000$ extra(2-500$ payemts) towards the down payment I've already paid. This car literally has a recall on the vehicle to not drive because of gas leaking from a split hose in the fuel line. I'm currently experiencing the interior of my car smelling as if it's been doused in gasoline as well as a 5ft+ perimeter smell on the outside of my car. My 2 year old and I are having to inhale these fumes because sports and imports will not give put me in another car despite the recall and how dangerous it's. Even though when I was purchasing this vehicle I and my witness were told if there is anything wrong with the car that marks it unsafe or undrivable that they would put me in a different vehicle. I call them and they answer and hang up or put me on hold to then hang up on me when I start speaking. Very unprofessional. I just want a safe car for my child and i. I need a replacement car but at this point I want my 2000$ back so I can go elsewhere.Business Response

01/2024 I purchased a vehicle from sports and imports. They did not disclose to me this vehicle was flooded in *******. The vehicle smells of stale water. No matter how much I clean it. I let them know this and nothing was done. They did offer to look at it at my expense. Also, they have you sign a form for automatic payment and doesn't disclose that there is a piece of equipment on the vehicle that shuts it off. They shut your car off the exact same day the payment is due at noon. They don't even allow you time to make the payment. They are extra rude! That's not apart of my complaint but I am stating it. I was sold a lemon. And now this car is costing me more money than it is worth. I paid $3000 down on a car that has major damage and issues.Business Response

And November 2023 about 20 20 10 **** fusion from a salesman named ****** ****** from sports and imports the photograph is in his writing and it shows first payment to be $450 on 12/3/23 which was made but when I went to pay my car payment they tried to charge me $570 for CPU that we going to discussed that I've had full coverage insurance that I didn't want which was $120 when my car payment was originally supposed to only be $400 $450 excuse me so now since this paper is found my car payment shouldn't be but 3:30 a month and they will not adjust my car payment by watch our sales Monroe I have talked to him and all it's been a fight with them I'm tired of fighting I want to bridge a contract because they will not warranty what their salesman road I was supposed to pay $450 with a CPU which was added $120 a month to make it 4:50 and I did not want to see pu so $120 should be subtracted from the 450 which would be 3:30 and they will not do it and I'm tired of fighting with them I want out of this contract and I don't want my credit destroyed because they want to do bad business and don't want to do is there a salesman promise and put in writing I sent you the documentation to show you please help me on this matter thank youBusiness Response

On 2.23.24 I went to get a car from a big here pay here in Gainesville. I agreed to $1,500 down (***** upfront and 500 the following Friday). Did the test drive and let them know that I felt something off in the front of the vehicle. Mentioned it to them and they said theyd get it handled and assured me of a warranty that covered everything bumper to bumper. I asked if a rental was provided while repairing and they assured me they did so I went ahead with the purchase. On 3.5 I received a call from the account manager informing me my contract wasnt completely signed and I needed to come back in. On 3.14 I took the car to a mechanic for a diagnostic and they determined the struts needed replacing and the coolant needed flushing. The A/C was not working until Freon was added to the car. That night I went to sign the contract. As I was reading over it, I noticed a discrepancy in odometer mileage and they said it couldnt be corrected before I signed before it could not be edited. Also read that I should have been able to take the contract to review it before signing but the sales manager pressured me into signing saying it would be reported that I was refusing to sign and not just exercising my right to read what Im signing. He also refused to print a copy stating it couldnt be printed until after being signed. The following day the car cut off while driving in the middle of the road and would not start back up. Contacted the company, they set up a tow to the mechanic and told me theyd contact me after the repair. No rental car was provided like promised. On 3.18 I was told the repairs were stopped due to nonpayment but I will not pay on a vehicle that has undisclosed issues that I just bought 3 weeks prior to. At this point, they have the vehicle and I have had to spend a lot of money to still get back and forth to work. I could not afford to pay them any more especially without a vehicle. We decided to try and find something for me while my husband works nights. Due to bad credit & limited down payment our options were limited. We went to *********************************************** and were shown a vehicle that matched with what we needed. Wasnt great but would get the job done. Now I am at fault for not test driving. 100% on me. I sent my husband home expecting to only be a hour or two. They showed me the contract and said I just needed to make the $500 down payment to get the final paperwork from underwriting. Made the deposit. I was stuck waiting until 2pm. I got there at 9am. When I finally started to push hard they put me in a back office and emailed me a contract. It didnt match what I was told at all! Payments were over half our weekly income. I asked what my options were and they said this was it and my money wouldnt be returned. At that point I was so frustrated I just signed. Drove the car less than a quarter mile down the road and the WHOLE DASHBOARD LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE, the windows wouldnt work, the radio wouldnt work. I called and said no this isnt acceptable. They said oh we will fix it. I said I just want the contract cancelled. They said no. At this point I had to get home cause my husband had to go to work so he had to come get me. No attempt was ever made to fix the vehicle and return it to me. All Ive been asking for is my $500 back based on the fact of being lied too multiple times and being deceived. Plus I spent an entire day basically held hostage cause they knew I didnt have another way home. In the last six months I have attempted every way possible except for legal action. This is morally and ethically wrong. Its pure theft! Taking advantage of people that are already struggling and make them suffer some more. We work extremely hard and we were deceived and lied too. All I want is my $500 back. Forget all the stress and time Ive now spent on this. I do not recommend this business to anyone and they should be held responsible!Business Response

I was told my down payment for the 2 cars that I qualified for on the lot was $1000 which is what I payed for the 2007 **** focus wagon with over 130k miles on it. Later to find out I only had to put down about $700. I asked for the total price of the car and how much the monthly payments would be and was told that I would be told after I payed the down payment. unsure of what I should do so I stepped outside to try to do research and talk to some one with more experience cause this was my first time purchasing a car. a few minutes after my sales representative ******, who was extremely rude, came outside and told me I needed to hurry up because he was trying to leave. He did not go back inside until I did to swipe my card. Which I then found out Id be paying close to $600 a month for the car. When I told him I didnt want to do that because it wasnt worth it I was told I couldnt get my down payment back. I then discovered I qualified for about 6 other cars on the lot that he didnt show me. And when I asked if I could switch vehicles he called some one on the phone who worked for the underwriting company who was also very rude and not wanting to help.The sales rep started to get frustrated because the process was taking to long and started to cuss about having kids and not staying to help me. Stating maybe if it was the old me, but I dont do anything extra any more so after 7 you wont have any one to help you he stood over my shoulder while I was reading documents and said theres like 45 pages itll take a while to read. You can later and Watched to the point where it loaded slowly so he refreshed the page while the phone was still in my hand and told me to continue when he saw it load back up. I didnt have a car so I took Lyft their that was $100 just to be treated like trash when I was spending my money at this establishment. THIS WAS 3 DAYS AGO. Ive been trying to contact the number I was given for HR and I havent been able to reach any one.Then theres the car. many problems with the car that I wasnt able to see in the test drive that only allowed me to go half a mile up the rode burning rubber smells when I drive, the sound of something loose and shaking when the car goes over 45 mph, no cold a/c unless the car is going high speeds, THE EMERGENCY BRAKES DO NOT WORK. The acceleration in the vehicle is horrible. Also the steering wheel will randomly tighten up and will be hard to turn sometimes.Business Response

We have reviewed Ms. ******* account. Our records indicate **************** entered a finance agreement with Sports and Imports Auto Sales June 1, 2023. **************** elected to purchase a 2007 **** Focus. The vehicle purchase came with a 24 month/24000 mile Warranty.
The retail installment sales contract signed by **************** contains the Federal Truth in Lending Disclosures outlining the *****% Annual Percentage Rate, Finance Charge of $10,670.71, Amount Financed of $14,445.11 Total of Payments of $25,115.82 and Total Sale Price $26,115.82 which included a $1,000 down payment.
**************** agreed to remit 114 Bi weekly vehicle payments of $220.00 each beginning on June 14, 2023.
Sports and Imports Auto Sales customers that are billed at a bi weekly pay frequency will remit three vehicle payments in a month twice a year due to the account being billed every fourteen days.
Sports and Imports Auto Sales does not force customers to purchase or sign the Motor Vehicle Retail Installment Sales Contract.
Ms. ******* experience with her sales associate will be handled internally and this matter has been escalated to the appropriate department.

Also his words. To be blatantly honest no one in there right mind would EVER finance a vehicle of that quality for 14k especially not 25k after interest. Both me and my significant other asked for the total price for the vehicle and the monthly payments BEFORE I paid the down payment and he would not tell me. After I found out how much they were I told him I couldnt make those payments and I would like the money back he said that it would hit my credit as a repossession. Any one being told that would feel trapped in a corner because we live off our credit and that would do significant damage to it. Not to mention the amount of mechanical issues I have noticed the car to have less than a week after its purchase. The emergency brakes dont even work which I found out after rolling down a hill after I tried to use the brake. The car is a SAFETY HAZARD. *** also taken the initiative to take the car to an actual dealership who told me that the car wasnt worth a full $2,000.
Ive called Hr NUMEROUS times with out being able to reach any one to discuss the terms of the agreement and the policy that sports and imports go by. This is simply unacceptable and inhumane. I couldve died or seriously been injured OR injured some one else rolling down a hill in reverse in such a manner. Please do the right thing. I feel as if I have been scammed and because your company is getting its money you do not care.

I have been calling your home office for about a week now trying to get this resolved Ive been placed on hold for 10 minutes on more than 1 occasion, been told that there is nothing I can be helped with because Ive already drove off the lot by your account manager. ******* in your HR department probably has at least ***** missed phone calls from me. And the store manager told her I was going to call. So Im not understanding why thats the case. I need some one to reach out to me personally and tell me how we can get this situated. Because calling your ****** office is a waste of time and your account managers and agents who answer the phone just give me a run around.
Also taking the vehicle with out giving a replacement for **** days to fix is not a reasonable accommodation. Im a manager and I need transportation on a day to day a basis to go to work. Or else Im not going to be able to afford the lemon that your company sold me. So please come up with a better arrangement than that.

I unfortunately purchased a vehicle from this company. They have lied from day one. I was told I only had to pay $500 down and they would match the down payment. Three days after I purchased the car I was told I had to pay $524 and they would come repo the car that day if I didnt and they turned the car off. I was an hour and half late for work because of this. Even after paying them they still didnt turn the car back on for several hours. I have since made every payment before it was due. I just paid them yesterday for two payments and they still ran my card again automatically today, taking money from me that is due to pay other bills. I was told they will let finance know when they come in so a refund can be issued. My other creditors dont want excuses for paying late jusy like they dont. They are incompetent and inconsiderate to their customers. Stay away from these people and their unfair business practices.Business Response
