I receive a rediculous amount of shifty credit card offers in the mail which go straight into the trash. I noticed a ton of promotional inquiries on my credit report and searched how to get rid of so many promotional offers and it pulled up this website. Well, apparently not only does this website unauthorized pull your credit and unauthorized share it with these shifty companies, they want you to pay $5 to be removed from their mailing list! It all seems very fraudulent. On top of this complaint I will also be informing the *** and other entities.Business Response

Dear Ms. **************** are in receipt of your correspondence through the Better Business Bureau. Thank you for taking time to express your concerns. It is not our desire to send mail to anyone who wishes not to receive it so first and foremost let me apologize for any concerns our mailing has caused you.
Distribution Processing Center provides mail services on behalf of commercial entities that market legitimate products and services to the general public. We mail on behalf of many insurance companies and agents. We do not call anyone, process any credit cards, share your information or charge for opting out of our customers future mailings.
Many mailers look the same so it is important to note that opting out with us will only prevent our clients mailings from being mailed to you. It will not prevent you from receiving similar-looking mailings from the hundreds of other companies mailing such offers.
We do have an Opt-Out Site (*****************) that can be used instead of filing a BBB complaint. Our opt-out site was built to try to help consumers. We are not required to do this, but we built the site so that consumers could easily opt out of all mailings we do on behalf of our clients. We even go as far as providing the consumer information to opt out nationally. The sole purpose of this site is maintaining a complete and comprehensive Do Not Mail List.
We have opted you out of our future mailings. If you wish to opt out of similar mailings, it is best to use a national DNM Registry such as DMAChoice (*************)
I hope this has addressed your concern.
Respectfully Submitted,

This business is mailing out letters intended to appear as though they come from the state of *******. They claim in other comments that they are innocently sending out requests on behalf of private businesses, but this fact is not overt and the notices are very clearly meant to seem "official" in some way. With a title such as "2024 Benefit Information For Alabama Residents", to verbiage such as "As a resident of *******, you are entitled to...state-regulated life insurance programs", to high-pressure sales tactics such as expecting a response 9 days after receipt of the letters, these are all clearly intended to dupe individuals who do not know any better into sending their information to what they believe is a government program. The business will naturally respond that technically, they did not claim to be representatives of the state. There are federal regulations from the *** that require a business be very clear about such things, and it is not acceptable to simply try and coast by on a technicality. I wonder how many unknowing citizens fall victim to this every day.Business Response

Dear Mr. **************** have received your concerns via the Better Business Bureau. Thank you for expressing them.
Distribution Processing Center provides mail services on behalf of commercial entities that market legitimate products and services to the general public. We mail for many insurance companies and agents. Our mailers are required to be generic and not reference any specific plan information because we are not sure at the time of mailing which company/agent will receive the returned lead. So, by law we are required to be generic in our messaging. Also, since we are not the licensed insurance agent we cannot talk about specific plans. We mail generically and then forward leads to agents who are interested in buying leads in the geographic areas in which leads have come in. That is also why there is no insurance company/agent listed on the mailer as it may not go to that company/agent. When we are talking about new benefits, we are referring to the many new plans that come out each and every year. For example, there recently has been a new plan that will cover up to $ ********* in funeral expenses. This plan was not around in previous years. Again, since we cannot be specific to a plan we have to speak in general terms.
We do have an Opt-Out Site (*****************) that can be used instead of filing a BBB complaint. Our opt-out site was built to try to help consumers. Sent mailing that states in bold red print: "Important Benefits Information Enclosed" (see photo). Opened "important notice" to find that only thing inside is an ADVERTISEMENT for health insurance. Just yet another business using deception, misrepresentation and complete distortion of simple English language words to steal from the public.Business Response

Complaint: 22186052What a riot. Your response has absolutely no logical connection to the complaint. Do you know how to read English?!! I didn't write to complain that I was on a list!!!! I wrote to complain that you sent a mailing to me and presumably thousands of others that is BLATANTLY MISLEADING AND DECEPTIVE. There is no benefits info enclosed in the mailer...the only thing that is enclosed is an advertisement and solicitation and one that requests data from the recipient. The latter issue, which you did not even merely acknowledge in your response, is the actual complaint that I sent to you. The sales practice you are engaged in probably violates the Ohio Consumers Sales Practices Act because, in the context of a solicitation, you are representing that a circumstance exists, when in fact it doesn't. The mailer does not contain any benefits info whatsoever of the type that an ordinary person would expect. It is 100 percent a solicitation to BUY A PRODUCT and worse it includes a request that personally identifying information be sent to even receive info on the product. This course you are on is illegal in **** and most states. So, why don't you address the ACTUAL instead of responding with items that were never even referred to. Again, the problem is NOT that I'm on a list or that something was sent, the problem is you are engaged in deceptive ILLEGAL practices, period.
Sincerely,
***********************Business Response

Dear ****************.
We understand that you did not appreciate the mailing you received from us and have since removed you from any future mailings we produce.
In response to your rejection of our initial reply, wed like to emphasize that our business operates in compliance with multiple governing bodies to produce mail campaigns that generate consumer interest in legitimate insurance, financial, and other products. We are not engaged in phishing, scams, or misleading consumers nor are our many reputable clients.
In many industries, including ours, leads are often generated without an intended end client or sales agent in mind. Therefore, it is important that mailers remain generic enough to be followed up on by the most appropriate provider of the desired products or services in the responding individuals area. This is also meant to enhance the consumer experience by allowing them to be paired with the best fit for their needs. We often utilize generic design and basic form elements to help facilitate the intake of important contact information in a limited amount of space.I hope we have addressed your concerns.

Apparently this company must use the "do not mail" list as a source for 'real' people. I'm on the list, and keep getting this fraudulent "second notice" from what seems to be scammers. Hiding behind their claim to work for legitimate companies just reeks of sleezy marketing practices. Maybe they catch uneducated consumers, but a different (honest) approach might actually attract people who can afford their 'clients' products.Business Response

Distribution Processing Center, LLC has been sending me letters and calling my number about a second attempt to receive benefits that the government is withholding with Mississippi residents. This is so unprofessional trying to lure people in stating the gov. owe money. What's your agenda? Please REMOVE MY NUMBER AND ADDRESS OFF YOUR CALL LIST AND MAILING LIST! There is no valid information about this matter , just a form to fill out and when you call the number back, you get a bogus AI sounding answering service with no info or human to speak with. Please get a life and a real job and stop harassing people. There are too many complaints for this to be legitimate. Leave me alone!!Business Response

I received mail from this organization that was clearly meant to look threatening and alarming stating on the envelope in red letters Second Notice above text Important Document Enclosed. Both of which, are not true and were my first red flags. Then, all that is included is a single slip of paper asking for personal identifying information stating that as a resident of my state Im entitled to more benefits and state-regulated programs. At the bottom they tell on themself and say they are Not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. Then they have the audacity to reply to people in this complaint thread with an INSECURE link to put MORE personal information to opt-out. That is unacceptable. I would say that I cant believe such a business can continue to exist, but Im not surprised. Dont even bother trying to defend yourselves. Youre just exploiting older people for your own gain.Business Response
