A Door to door sales people told me they have discounts external and internal for $200, So I hired them doing 1 service at 6/25/2024. But a few days later i found out this is a subscription, when you hire them, you automatically booked 1 year services ,which they never mentioned, and they never send me the documents. So I call them for cancellation, then they tell me there will be a cancellation fee $160. They signed me for a subscription I never agree for, and now want me to pay they to cancel it. I hired EcoShield to do a pest exclusion of my house. They said that they sealed up the house and then put in new insulation in my attic. This was originally done on 11/12/2022 and then I signed another 1 year exclusion annual renual on 11/1/2023. I had another pest company come out to take a look and they noticed lots of areas that were completely overlooked and not done properly. They said that the work was not correct nor done well and advised against having EcoShield come back out since they didn't use the correct material and didn't follow up properly. I spent $1,250 for the initial exclusion and $13,950 for the insulation removal and new insulation in the attic. I had several follow up appointments and then an annual exclusion renewal which was meant to keep the house sealed. The photos that my new pest company provided show 30 areas that pests can come into the house and I now have evidence of rats again. I have called EcoShield and they are extremely hard to get a hold of and I am always routed to off-shore call centers where they do not understand my complaint. The materials that were used were incorrect in sealing the house and I don't feel that they can do the job to make it right. They have taken advantage of me as a new homeowner and I feel that I am due a full refund due to the poor work and lack of reasonable follow up.I would never use this company again and I would like to warn others to not use them for pest services. I am rejecting this response. The local service manager came out to my house on 7/30/24 aroudn 3PM and I asked him to look around the exterior to determine if the exclusion was done properly and then to come inside to the attic to see if the insulation was put in properly. The manager took pictures outside and said that they didn't use the correct exclusion screen size, missed holes, and other areas. He didn't go under the deck where there is a large hole but agreed that they did not do a good job. He went up into the attic and saw that they didn't add the required amount of insulation that they said that they would. He saw areas where there was no insulation and others that was only a few inches deep when it was supposed to be around 15 inches deep. He said he would get with his manager and they would call me. They have not done that and I am still requesting a full refund for them not doing the job properly and being completely neglegent which has caused me to have to hire another company to come out and treat my house for rats and finally seal it up from pests.

I called in today and spoke to ********* and I mentioned to her when I first signed I requested certain dates to come to my house and to be alerted ahead of time since I work everyday.I got charged June 22,2024 $179 for the service and I also paid on May the initial as I was promised when I signed on I would have someone that would alert me when they arrive or are heading that which I have not gotten. Now, they want to to keep offering me discount at first it was $30 discount now $50 and wants to offer a free service after I mentioned its not free if I paid for something that I did not receive. She proceeded to state that they alerted me and sent me a reminder when I mentioned to them to specifically let me know 1 hour in advance that they are on the way because I work which they have failed to do . MIND YOU, they made me cancel my previous service with another company and this is by far the WORST COMPANY EVER! Also, now that I want to cancel I had to pay the $179 plus $200 for ending the contract and I told her why would I do that for the lack of service I am receiving she said that that is the only way and I would get sent to collections if I dont pay. I tried getting another manager but she has me on hold and wont transfer and then she tries to sell me again to stay with the company and she would give me free service after I just paid and then you threatened me to send me to collection for a service I am not receiving !? HORRIBLE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Then again once again she is trying to sell me again and now she is giving me a $80 discount CRAZY! She just has me on hold and hold and avoids transferring me to a manager.Now a manager can not contact me until 3-5 days to return to my call and she reduced my account to 12 months sales pitch. After trying to cancel now shes messing up my credit for $200 that a SERVICE THEY DID NOT DO! ********* is the worst! I just discovered after trying to cancel that I signed a 2 year contract which I specifically asked the kid that came to my door. He said "it's month to month and you only pay the $150 discount fee from your initial service if you cancel"I was charged $199 the day I signed up with the kid at my front door. They charged me another $1999 less than 30 days later after the kid had told me they bill bi-monthly.The kid had an ipad of sorts and I never received anything that stated this was a 2 year contract. After taking a look into your account notes, I noticed that you received a "welcome to the Family" text that gave information in case you didn't get all of it during sign-up. Unfortunately, at this time we will not be able to issue you a refund due to the acknowledgment of this text. As for the cancellation fee of $150, that was communicated to you, if not during sign-up then directly after from our "Welcome to the Family" team that sends out a short summary of what you just signed up for in case you didn't get all the information, or in case you have decided our service isn't for you. In that text sent on 6/08/2024, the message goes over the initial visit and egg cycle both being billable services, the cancellation process which includes being invoiced a fee of the initial discount given at the time of sign-up, and the duration of your contract. We give the option to respond "yes" meaning you agree to all terms and are ready to begin services, or "no" implying you do not agree and do not wish to start services. I want to again sincerely apologize for the unsatisfaction you have encounter. I have attached screenshots of the text messages between you and our representative. If there is anything else we can do for you, please don't hesitate to reach back out.

When you have a salesperson knocking on your door and telling you to sign here and look for a text, there is no time to read through everything as they are walking you through the process and dont leave until everything is signed and responded to.this is the worst kind of sales tactic and texting yes to a text can surely not being binding due to my payment being processed at time of sign up etc. then less than 30 days later i am charged again and when my husband calls hes told we signed up for a 24 month contract
This is a deceptive sales tactic and I will be cancelling the services for the shear fact of dishonest and rushed and buried sales at your doorstep

That is your time to say you didn't know it was a contract, you didn't know the initial appointment and egg cycle was billable, or say that this just isn't for you. You had already signed your contract, we just have a separate team to go above and beyond to give you the three main bullet points in the contract. I do apologize for any confusion, however the text was sent and acknowledged with no feedback of questions or concerns. So at this time, we are denying a refund or waiving the cancellation fee.

I am rejecting this response because: It's deceptive and you guys know it. I asked directly if it was a contract and your employee lied to me. The fact that you can't acknowledge that the sales tactic is deceitful and deceptive is crazy. You have billed me twice and it even says on the invoice bi-monthly - nowhere on any email or invoice does it state I signed a 2 year contract. A text is a lame excuse to determine a legally binding contract.

I spoke to someone from EcoShield on 7/13 about a tentatively plan for pest control. Afterward, I heard from my landscaper saying they will be treating my lawn and side of my house with natural pest control, so I no longer need this service. I called to cancel my appointment (on 7/19) and account, but instead my appointment got rescheduled to 7/23. I all appointments canceled and my account closed.Business Response

June 30th of 2023 one of Ecoshields salesman came to my door despite the "no solicitation" sign and said they were doing service in the neighborhood. He asked if I would be interested in signing up I said no but the salesman kept putting pressure on me offering discounts and deals and and incentives to sign up with him ubtil I eventually caved and signed feeling it was the only way to get him to leave beside actually becoming rude and telling him to go. I mean this went on for the better part of a hour. As I went through the agreement we never spoke about there being a fee to stop service and now they've threatened to send me to collections after harassing me with calls and emails for months. I'm moving and they want more of my personal information to show I've moved but I don't feel comfortable giving them that information because of the uncomfortable encounter I had with their company at my old address and they're asking for me to send personal documents that I'm not comfortable sending to them and essentially that's the only way I can get away for paying this fee that I wasn't aware of when being pressured into signing.Business Response

I was taken advantage of by this company a few weeks after moving to the **. They locked me into a contract saying it's the only way to manage pests in our area and that "all of our neighbors" are with them too. They have not completed their services as promised, I am frequently calling them back to deal with issues they missed. On the most recent service, the security cameras show the technician only glancing into the back yard and then leaving. Around late April early May someone came to my door at 9pm, I answered not knowing and wondering why someone is banging on my door that late at night. I open the door to a young man claiming he was a salesman for ECO shield pest solutions, he gave a brief explanation on what they do etc. I told him Im not interested at that moment and asked if he could come back. He said if I fill out a form saying he was allowed back that he would be back the next day, so I filled out the form and received a text saying if you agree reply YES I never replied to any of those text asking if I agree. I waited for him to come back the next day to go over everything but no one showed up. 3-5 days later I look outside and see ECO shield spraying without my permission. I then call the number on the text and they tell me in order to cancel I would have to pay $160 fee, the thing is I never knew I was under any sort of contract so I shouldnt have any fee or any charge related to them. The salesmen told me something completely different, they claim they have a signature but the signature that they have is not my signatureAll I want is for whatever account I have to be closed and for the cancellation fee to be dropped. I called earlier today and ECO shield said I have 30 days until they send it to collections, this is terrible! Im finally reaching out to the BBB after Eco Shield wouldnt stop texting and calling asking for this cancellation fee that I again never signed up for,We also have a no Soliciting Sign!I hope for this to be resolved asap!Business Response

The employee, *************************, from the EcoShield Pest Solutions company promised to provide mosquitoes treatment, hornet and wasps treatment and armadillos treatment for my house and the cost of those treatments will be covered by the agreed price for the first service when he wanted to me sign a contract with his company at the very beginning. I had paid his company the price for the first service. But later it turned out that his company did not perform those services as promised and wants to charge extra fees for providing those services, which violates what the company's employee had promised.Business Response

Dear Better Business Bureau,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Ecoshield Pest Solutions - ******* for their failure to resolve the ongoing issue and for charging me for unauthorized service.
1. Despite multiple communications, Ecoshield Pest Solutions - ************;has not taken any action to address the issues with the first service they provided.
2. On July 2nd, I was charged an additional $169 for a service that I had explicitly rejected in advance.On June 28th, I informed Ecoshield Pest Solutions - ******* that I did not want the second service, which was originally scheduled for July 2nd, until the issues with the first service were resolved. We agreed to postpone the second service to July 12th to give them time to address the initial issues. Despite this agreement, a technician still came to my house on June 28th. I told him I had rejected this service since the issues with the first service were not resolved. The technician walked around my house for approximately 10 minutes, and I am unclear on what, if anything, was done during this visit. I was subsequently charged $169 for this unauthorized service.
I am requesting a full refund for the unauthorized charge and the cancellation of the service agreement with Ecoshield Pest Solutions - *******. I trust that the BBB can assist in resolving this matter promptly.
